Very, very cool, but...
- Pros: Got it to work well with the UD4P 790FX Gigabyte motherboard at all of the specified timings, no problem. Well, that's not entirely true...
No errors, perfectly stable
- Cons: Size. As mentioned before, these guys take up too much space, laterally and vertically. Most motherboards will not allow for a clean fit (I couldn't find one when I purchased for my specific rig). Consequentially, with the way the Gigabyte slots are, the ram has to operate in separate channels, which means no DDR :(
- Other Thoughts: STILL FAST.
Coming from my old system (AMD x2 socket 939 w/ DDR1 Ram), this stuff is untouchable.
It gets a 5.9 on the vista test :P
(AMD 720BE, O.C.-> 3.4GHz // 4GB of this Ram (Single Channel) // UD4P-790FX Gigabyte Ultra Durable MoBo // MSI 9800GT, O.C.-> 700MHz Core - 2GHz Mem // Mushkin 500w PSU
My mistake
- Pros: Works well ran them at 1333 at 1.82v 5/5/5/20 seemingly no problems but just for short game demo's then went back to 6/5/5/18 just to be safe
- Cons: Yes i MESSED up they will not fit side by side but hey where there is a will... O there is a way you can make em fit!!!
- Other Thoughts: Took my die grinder pulled apart/cut off all but top meaning the lip only and left top mounting part and they will now fit still tight so the heat pipe butts up against front of heat sink on other stick and wallla works fine. Caution not for the faint of heart. If you are unsure just take pieace to metal workshop of some sort any one will have the correct tools and should be almost nothing
Super Speed
- Pros: Runs smooth as butter. Plug and play. Stays really cool under load. I have not tried pushing it yet, but no worries about it lasting. This is some solid RAM.
- Cons: The manufacturer writes on the packaging that you can not fit these side by side. So that means if you have only 4 slots for ram, they do not recommend filling all 4 slots with the reaper.
- Other Thoughts: The speed problems that other readers have might be the mobo and not the ram.
