Don't fear the Reaper. OCZs Reaper HPC (Heat Pipe Conduit) is an innovative cooling solution for high-speed memory modules. By utilizing a heat pipe and radiator fins the heat generated is dissipated faster than standard heat spreader designs. This matters to you because it helps facilitate improved overclocking performance, while improving longevity and stability of your memory.

This 4GB kit ensures optimal performance via an ideal combination of low voltage requirements, speed, and latency, so it's a great match for the Nehalem platform to unleash performance you could only dream of before.

  • newegg Reaper Heat Pipe Conduit The Reaper HPC is an innovative cooling solution developed by OCZ to effectively minimize heat produced by high-speed memory. As heat rises into the thermo-conductive copper heat pipe conduit, it is dissipated through the strategically-placed compact aluminum fin array.
  • newegg 1.95V EVP The OCZ EVP (Extended Voltage Protection) feature allows performance enthusiasts to use a VDIMM of 1.95V without invalidating their OCZ Lifetime Warranty.
  • newegg DDR3 1600 DDR3 1600 delivers incredible performance and platform compatibility with up to 12.8GB/s memory bandwidth per channel for scintillating work and gaming power!

5 out of 5 eggsCold as ice

Pros: This RAM is very stable in MSI mother boards, which I use almost exclusively and stays ICE COLD in comparison to most heat spreader sticks!!

Cons: LARGE modules in height so some large CPU coolers watch out!!

5 out of 5 eggsYay!

Pros: 7-7-7-16 @ 1.9V
See other thoughts

Cons: Was difficult to get it to run stock speeds without doing a lil research.
Especially when it said 7-7-7 @ 1.7v 1600MHz ya think the sticker would never lie? :P

Guess that's what search engines are for.

Also no stickers! x( i want to showoff how cool this ram is to my buddys it needs stickers this piece of cardboard with OCZ sharpied on it & duct taped to my case is not sufficent.

Other Thoughts: I suggest trying 1.9V with 7-7-7-16 1T and it works fine.
(for me anyways)

To a new user this ram is annoying and will give you issues. False information. :P Though it does run 7-7-7 just not at 1.7v. As my testing as shown :P

It's a beautiful stick of ram, i'm seriously in love with it. It looks like a nice little briefcase. That says "simply pwnt" by OCZ on it.

Ok well it don't say that but it might as well. :P

Please do not let the timing issue not buy it. It's very high performance stuff. It just needs a little push I suppose. :)

5 out of 5 eggswill buy another set

Pros: Very fast when overclocked and the heat spreaders are stylish after you get over the size of them

Cons: Pictures dont do these justice, they are very large, if you have a cooler that gets close to the ram slots these wont work

5 out of 5 eggsThe good stuff

Pros: Solid RAM. Bought 2 Sticks over a year ago and just upgraded to 4 total. Can push it to the 1600 Mhz mark with out any problem. Very stable. Fit in tightly spaced RAM slots.

Cons: A pain to overclock above what the RAM is rated. But since overclocking above what something is rated is extra. Not worth an egg off.

Other Thoughts: Love this stuff. No dead sticks. No errors. Heat sinks are well built.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM if your lucky

Pros: This Ram works great at the 7-7-7-24 2T speeds 1600Mhz.
My Windows 7 WEI score is 7.8 with this RAM....
Im using just this set
My Setup:
Antec Nine Hundred case
AMD Phenom II 965 BE (C3) @ 3.84 Ghz OC
ASRock M3A785GXH/128M
CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W
Corsair H-50 CPU Water Cooling
4 GB OCZ Reaper 1600 7-7-7-24 2T Ganged
XFX HD-577A-ZNFC 5770 Video card
OCZ Vertex 60 gb SSD (System)
Hitachi 1TB 7200 HDD (Data)
Windows 7 x64

Cons: Ok its runs great if your lucky to get a good set of RAM... I have bought a total of 3 sets of these.. All had problems under Memtest... The last set had 151 errors running at 8-8-8-24 1333....

OCZ has been great at helping me troubleshoot and RMA my first set of ram.... My replacement RAM came directly from Taiwan and its running GREAT now....

If you run into problems OCZ will be more than willing to help.. Dont expect a quick response or quick RMA... It takes about a day later after you post a question on their Forum...

Other Thoughts: Like I said great RAM if you get a set that runs without errors under Memtest....

My other build is gonna change from this ram to Gskill...

Some people have had better luck with Gskill over OCZ....

Ill stick with this for now as its running great RIGHT NOW.....

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are sorry that you had problems, and we very happy that we were able to take care of you and get you running properly.
Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsOCZ3RPR16004GK

Pros: installed ram , powered up system, entered bios, set voltages to spec, rebooted, entered bios and set all the frequencies, re configured the bios to my hardware profile @ 3.8 ghz w/ 1600 mhz ddr-3 T2, rebooted, configured a 4x vertex raid stripe @ 128k clusters and installed win 7 64bit. updated all drivers , used ccleaner to clean system and registry, setup a check disc for next boot , tweaked OS with Auslogics BoostSpeed for win7, rebooted to verify volume integrity, rebooted to 7, ran the sfc/ scanow to verify OS file Integrity, did a start shutdown, then turned off the psu and walked away.

Cons: no

Other Thoughts: Ram worked as Advertised. Craftsmanship seems good. Nothing loose or brittle. If there are any Engineers in here I would like to request a idea.
Offer a cheap high bandwidth storage device. not 200 or 400 mbps but more like 1500 - 2500 mbps. My point is these Hard drives. They are lagging the entire Industry, YOUR CUSTOMERS and people world wide.

My non top of the line machine can move 17 gbps core motherboard bandwidth. and builders are giving out 40 to 250 mbps storage devices that have become the floppy drive of our time. There is no single device capable of high bandwidth for a reasonable price. Not 1.
So people are left out on their own and usually go the Raid stripe to get any kind of a boost, usually its slim at best.

So I pose this to the Hardware Industry.

Offer us a low price high bandwidth bootable storage device.

How about a block 6 or 10 very small ssd drives , say 10 gig and put them in a enclosure of make a neat frame or something. something really neat

2 out of 5 eggsDecent Memory

Pros: When it is operational, it is very fast. Easy installation. Cooling pipe keeps memory cool even under full loads.

Cons: Unstable. I have had the memory for over 3 months, and have been dealing with hard locking, fatal program errors with reference to memory errors, and since I upgraded to windows 7, blue screans. At first I thought it was that it was Windows XP conflicting with the newer hardware, but I upgraded to Windows 7 and continue to have problems. I finally broke down and am running Memtest 86. So far I am at 45000 errors on each memory slot and counting.

Other Thoughts: Once I can get some more memory so I don't have to go without my rig, hopefully I can return it to OCZ and they'll give me some stable sticks.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsNot so Awesome

Pros: -Worked for 1.5 days (See "Awesome Memory" review below).

Cons: -Both modules dead.
-Wasted over half my weekend troubleshooting this issue. I assumed it was not the memory failing, since it installed and passed tests.
-Since 2 of 2 were bunk, I question the integrity of the other OCZ products I own (half dozen or so).

Other Thoughts: -I ordered this 4 GB kit to go with an identical kit I purchased from Newegg ~8 months ago.
-The new memory came, I installed it, tested with Memtest and normal usage. It seemed to install and run perfectly.
-Yesterday evening (3/13), my computer froze, a little later...BSOD, then it began to freeze and BSOD more frequently. Soon, I could only use my computer for a short time before crash. Then I could post, but the login screen or BIOS would freeze. Shortly after, I could not even post. When I power on, a red light just blinks endlessly in my case.
-Neither new module will allow post (tested together and individually).
-I tested the original modules, and both allow post when combined (as 2x2GB) or individually.
-So, I am running the original 4 gigs rock solid and hope that when I get the new kit I can finally have 8 GB total.
-I hope OCZ can redeem themselves for wasting my time. If the new RAM works, I will be a fanboy once again.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are sorry for the problem. You should be working fine with your new kit, although running 8gb will require some BIOS adjustments to achieve stability. Running 2 kits will double the load on your memory controller. If you have any concerns when your new kit arrives, please visit our support forum, or contact our tech support staff by creating a support ticket at the link below.
Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGreat memory

Pros: -Awesome memory. I actually just installed 4 more gigs, to bump my rig up to 8 GB total. The first 4 GB has run solid since I bought it over six months ago. I found the most stable configuration after I manually set the speed to 1600, but left the timings on auto config. I have run three concurrent instances of Memtest for the last 12 hours and no errors. Good solid RAM.

Cons: -None

Other Thoughts: -Quick shipping, cheap price, and a product that works out of the box. Thanks Newegg and OCZ.
