OCZ XMP Ready Series make overclocking ever so convenient. This triple channel memory set features Intel Extreme Memory Profiles (XMP), delivers different options of timings, voltage, and speed for different overclocking configurations. Each kit is 100% hand tested for performance and compatibility.
The XTC heat spreaders are designed to take advantage of the micro convection currents that occur in the channels between the individual memory chips. The black honeycomb design encourages maximum heat distribution. The rigid frame, in addition to proclaiming to the world what memory you use, also helps to reinforce structural rigidity in the module.
This new 6GB kit ensures optimal performance via an ideal combination of low voltage requirements, speed, and latency, so it's a great match for the Nehalem platform to unleash performance you could only dream of before.

OCZ XMP!
- Pros: Running on my EVGA X58 board at rated speeds. 8-8-8-24 at 1600 with no issues whatsoever. All 6GB recognized by Vista 64-bit. VERY HAPPY with this purchase.
Call me nerdy, but I like the heatsinks on these much better than the OCZ GOLD. Fits the color scheme of the EVGA X58 very nicely.
- Cons: EVGA board doesn't support XMP yet. You can still adjust the heck out of the settings, but all manually. Not the memory's fault but just worth noting.
- Other Thoughts: I was torn between Corsair Dominator, the OCZ Gold, and this. Dominator was about $40 more at the time, OCZ Gold was about $20 cheaper. I emailed OCZ and got responses back within minutes, literally. I had an entire 5 email long conversation within 30 minutes, and I was sold on OCZ. Officially a fan of thier tech-suppoert if they were willing to answer my stupid questions.
Anyway, the guy told me this is essentially the OCZ GOLD set, with XMP timings and the different heatsinks. He also said (as well as thier website states) it's "optimized" for Core i7. Not sure what that means, but it hasn't given me any issues whatsoever.
It's memory, no wood, but almost..
- Pros: One review commented about the green PCB being ugly. Can't even see the color through my side window. The heat spreaders are black but the top edge is a shiny brushed aluminium, looks very nice. The part I can see is what matters. Sticks run great at 1600 8-8-8-24 1T w/ 1.64v. In comparison, the 1600 8-8-8-24 Corsair Dominators I tested would not run at 1T and needed 1.66v. OCZ gets a +1.
- Cons: I didn't spend too much time on it, but my Rampage II Extreme wouldn't boot with 1800 9-9-9-28 (XMP #2). Perhaps with a little work I'll get it to work but I'm not too concerned. Current speed with 1T is awesome.
- Other Thoughts: Don't let fancy heat spreaders or heatsinks influence your purchase decision. This stuff at 1.65v stays cool to the touch, doesn't even need a heat spreader IMO; but we're so used to seeing them now, why not. In any case, here's a simple, attractive stick that works.

Worked great first time
- Pros: XMP profiles worked as promised on my GA-X58A-UD7 and according to Gigabyte should run 12GB (6 x 2GB) without issue at 1600.
- Cons: None so far, maybe the i7 logo if you bought these and put them in an AMD system, hopefully people will buy a dual channel kit for that.
- Other Thoughts: Cannot wait to get another set and test out 12GB, 6GB is a nice step up from the 4GB I had on my old AMD system, I can actually run a VM and give it a decent amount of ram to work with.
- Pros: Works well, had no problems in my overclocking, looks great too.
- Cons: None
I likey
- Pros: Booted right up as advertised 8-8-8-24 with 1T, and at only 1.57 volts on a EVGA classified. The look is great. I almost thought they had the green PCB design but then noticed the other review on here was writen in mistake for the other OCZ memory.
- Cons: None at this time
- Other Thoughts: Running my Core i7 at 4.2 with this at 1600. will be buying another 6 gigs from OCZ.
