5 out of 5 eggsOCZ 12gb Kit

Pros: Worked right away with minimal tweaking.
Achieved rated timings.
Running stable at stock speeds.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I am using this with an ASRock X58 Extreme mobo. It detected all the ram, and I only had to change one setting to get it running at the rated speeds. It correctly auto-detected all the others.
An important note- if you buy 2 6gb kits- they are not guaranteed by any manufacturer to work together (check the fine print on their site- I was surprised too). If you are concerned about getting 12gb to work, get a 12gb kit- these modules were all tested together to get the rated speeds. You may not necessarily get that lucky with a pair of 6gb kits.

5 out of 5 eggsConfirmed on Dell Studio XPS 435T

Pros: After reading less than shinning reviews of this product on Dell Studio XPS 435MT I did some research and found the following in the vendors support forum.

If your processor was a i7 extreme 965 the ram would operate at 1333Mhz, because the QPI is 6.4G-t / second. core i7 940 and 920 have 4.8 G-t /sec and that translates to 1066Mhz operation. The ram frequency is a user-selectable option in recent enthusiast mainboards. When that setting is changed the ram can be clocked higher (Memory multi x Bclock=effective memory speed). Unfortunately your pc does not have this option, therefore you will be stuck with the memory frequency the CPU selects for you.But the ram you suggested will boot and run at that 1066Mhz.

When I installed all 12 Gig of RAM only 8 Gig was recognized. I noticed that the memory was listed as dual channel. The Dell manual stated Ensure that you install a single memory module in DIMM connector 1 before you install modules in any other connector. All 12 Gig works!

Cons: None since it was a Dell issue that the memory was not recognized the first time.

Other Thoughts: My Computer:

Intel Core i7 920
OCZ Platinum 12GB kit
Northbridge Intel X58 rev. 12
Southbridge Intel 82801JR (ICH10R) rev. 00
BIOS 1.1.2
Radeon HD 4850

5 out of 5 eggsgreat

Pros: the heatsink is awsome, that's gonna be the only difference between 2 sticks, unless they don't work.

Cons: nillo

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great.

Pros: I was a little worried that I might have some issues after reading some of the reviews, but I was willing to take a chance because of the price point. However, after popping them all into the board and starting it up, all of the sticks were recognized and work fine with the out of the box timing.

Cons: none so far

5 out of 5 eggsultimate deal

Pros: Where to start. much cheaper than the buying 2 dual chanel kits for my AM3 rig plus have 2 spare sticks for use in a later build or incase one that is install fails. Works with my AMD Phenom II 955BE

Cons: Not really a con but was detected at 1066 Mhz instead of 1333 Mhz. Nothing a little bios tweek wouln't resolve. Company needs to make a kit using 4GB sticks so I can max out my system. Says that it's optimized for Intel. Who gives a flip. Works with AMD with same performance level as intel. Plus AMD is cheaper and with real world usage you will never see the difference in performance between AMD and intel anyway.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking at building or upgrading to the Phenom II (AM3 version) It's well worth your while to consider this item over the standard two chanel kits. This kit costs less than or as musch as buying two of the 4 GB (2X2GB) kits reguardless of the manufacturer It performs great and it never hurts to have a spare just in case.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed Customer

Pros: None

Cons: I bought this product assuming that I could trust Dell's documentation. Documentation says the computer will run at 1333 Mhz. It doesn't. Also, Dell does not allow voltage adjustment on my computer. The memory I bought is useless. Unfortunately I sent in the UPC code for the rebate so I can not return it.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, with many Dell systems you must use their proprietary memory upgrades (likely memory with much higher default timings to hit rated speeds at low voltages) to get the speeds that a system may be capable of. By not allowing for voltage adjustments, unfortunately your options are narrowed. If you have timing adjustments in BIOS you could try setting to the highest available to see if that will work. We will be happy to make some recommendations on our support forums at the link below.
Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsEasy Memory

Pros: Memory Auto detected at the right clocking and voltage. Passes memtest86+ perfect. No hassles experienced. Timing is marked on the sticks if you ever need to know them.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I used an ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 @ normal clocking.

3 out of 5 eggsbeware compatibility

Pros: cheap

Cons: cheap

Other Thoughts: Make sure the memory you buy is on the compatibility list of your mother board. I didn't do that and this particular memory caused blue screens of death. The problem went away after installing memory that was specifically listed as compatible and tested for my Supermicro X8STE motherboard.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, we are sorry that you had problems. Most often all that is needed is for a few settings to be changed in your BIOS to solve this type of problem. It is especially important to change your memory voltage as indicated on the label on each stick. Not doing so will definitely cause issues. We are always happy to help on our support forums at the link below.
Thank you
