1 out of 5 eggsSimply died

Pros: It was very fast while it was working.

Cons: Two months into building a new computer and using it VERY lightly (we're talking Skype being the most CPU-intensive task), the computer just stopped booting. I suspected many things, but not a SSD burning out - never even thought that that was possible. The BIOS even just stopped recognizing the drive and doesn't see it anymore, as though it doesn't exist.

Nonsense product - I want my money back.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsunstable as a old lady on a tilt a whirl

Pros: well when it worked it was fast.. I mean Fasttt Bloody Fast.
3 year warranty!

Cons: Fail x4 fail, kept puking 1-3 images lasted about 2 weeks, after than 2 hours Now they are Bricks. I will try the warranty process. Was originally bought for a laptops, switched them to Desktop no luck there either.
I would expect A ssd to be alot more stable then this. I also notice that nobody is selling these anymore. I will not buy anymore of these.

Other Thoughts: OCZ has alway brought great products to market in the past. I am concern now every where is out of stock.. makes me think EPIC fail...

I am thinking of going kingston hyperx for the same price

1 out of 5 eggsFAILURE

Pros: VERY FEW

Cons: THE ORIGINAL ONE SENT WOULD DOUBLE ALL DATA, CAUSING WINDOWS PAGING FILE PROBLEMS AND PROGRAM INSTALLATION ERRORS.
THE REPLACEMENT JUST DIED, LESS THAN A YEAR AFTER INSTALL, VERY FEW WRITE/REWRITES WERE DONE SINCE I INSTALLED ALL PROGRAMS ON A TRADITIONAL DRIVE.

Other Thoughts: I HAVE ALWAYS PREFERRED OCZ OVER OTHER MEMORY OPTIONS. THIS POOR EXPERIENCE TWICE OVER HAS SOURED ME TO THEM. WILL NOT BE MAKING THE SAME ERROR IN THE FUTURE.

3 out of 5 eggsFast, but problematic

Pros: I can boot from scratch in 20 seconds, Skyrim loads a new game in 4 seconds, and scene ransition happen in the blink of an eye.

Cons: Having a lot of MBR problems and random Windows crashes. It doesn't seem to be software interference as the issues still occur when I am running very lean.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat at first, then...

Pros: Fast when it worked.

Cons: After about two months of ownership, my macbook refused to boot up. Just stuck on the boot screen, with nothing happening. Inserted my original hard drive. Works perfect, so it was fully the patrols fault.

Other Thoughts: I thought I would get lucky, but a horrible hard drive is a horrible hard drive. This will be my last OCZ product, as their quality control seems to be abysmal. I lost a VERY important work document because of this.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Product

Pros: Cheap price

Good performance (accept random write speeds)

No Problems

Cons: Poor random write speeds

Other drives $20 more have far superior random write speeds

Other Thoughts: I would have given 5 stars but for $20 more there are better performing drives. I got this for an office computer though, so the slower random write speed does not affect it. Also, even though I have been going on about its poor random write speeds they are still faster that a HDD.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Drive

Pros: Faster than a standard HDD. Inexpensive compared to other SSDs of similar capacity. Noticably faster startups. Support is also good. The only SSD that is less than 67 cents a gig.

Cons: Not the fastest SSD.

Other Thoughts: Wouldn't boot from the drive. I had to use a workaround. Found out I had too many drives with an OS on them. Disconnected those drives and it boots automatically like its set in the bios to. Don't know why that situation happens. sHould boot regardless of other HDDs have an OS.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid-state for everyone

Pros: High capacity. Inexpensive. Silent.

Cons: Haven't found any yet.

Other Thoughts: It it true there are SSDs out there that are faster, but I think this is a very practical choice. I can fit my entire games library on the drive without having to micromanage what's installed and not installed, and if this is your first SSD the speed (particularly load times of applications) will blow your mind. The GB/cost of this drive really makes solid state the default choice to run your applications off on any new build.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat SSD

Pros: Have it for 2.5 month in my MBP 15". Macbook is now silent, boots super fast. Apps open up with snap of a finger. Excel opens up within 1 sec.

Cons: none
