Excellent
- Pros: Runs perfectly at specified speeds and voltage (800 MHz, 4-4-4-12-2T, 1.9V).
- Cons: Have not tried overclocking it yet.
- Other Thoughts: I have this on the eVGA nForce 680i board. At first boot, it defaults to 5-5-5-15, which is a good thing - makes it easier for it to boot at 1.8V until you make the necessary changes in the BIOS. Requires 2T, but most DDR2 does. In terms of actual time (in microseconds) PC2 6400 at 4-4-4-12-2T has the same latencies as PC3200 (DDR1) at 2-2-2-6-1T. At 800 MHz, each clock cycle is half as long as at 400 MHz.
It does get warm, so I positioned a case fan to blow over the DIMMs (same as I did for the DDR1 PC4000 I had in my S939 system).
G.Skill + E6600 + DS3
- Pros: - As advertised does 4-4-4-12 easily. Some people claim it doesn't do the specified timings; upping the voltage settings on the board to the required voltage (+0.2/+0.3 in the case of DS3) is essential to achieve this timing.
- Very attractive heat spreader. The picture on newegg does not do justice to the memory modules. Memory comes with good packaging
- No errors while running Memtest for 2 nights.
- Cons: Since a con is a necessary field..I would say newegg should not charge shipping on any product > $25
