3 out of 5 eggsNot bad..not as good as it should be.

Pros: Fast and stable at below advertised speeds.

Cons: Fought with this RAM for a long time to get advertised settings and never could. Memory errors and crashes on anything over 1333. Its been working great at 7-7-7-18 @ 1333 for a few months now but considering the price and advertised speed im disappointed.

Other Thoughts: Im not sure, but i thought it may be a limitation of my cpu (q6700@3.33Ghz)

4 out of 5 eggsRevised review

Pros: Well after messing with timing I got 6-6-6-9 2t , perf. lvl 6 stable at 1406mhz 1.76V , it can go higher ( worked at 1412 , 1422 , 1430 ....) but 439 FSB - my limitation on BlackOps with reasonable temps at NB .

Cons: well it never did work at 1600 =(

Other Thoughts: I thnik for 2x2 gb on x48 platform , it's a reasoanbly good ram after all , and my current settings which I mentioned in pros. gives me close to 10k results in everest memory tests , ( if I mess with memset from windows , I can get 10k+ but , that's now what I can do from bios , so it doesnt count ) .

3 out of 5 eggsNot as easy as I thought

Pros: I have EX58-Extreme and 12 gigs of this kit. I am aware that with GSkill you always have to set the mem settings your self. The memory works stable at the settings the memory detects and sets itself which is not the rated settings.

Cons: I tried 1600mhz 7-7-7-18-3 and Vista crashes within the first few minutes every time. I am not really sure what the command rate is suppose to be set to. (3,2, or 1). Maybe it is because the voltage is not set to 1.9v. I think it is set to 1.5v. I cannot figure out how to set the voltage on my motherboard so maybe that would fix it.

Other Thoughts: Other then the cons the memory is good to me. I have not tested the memory for errors yet. They say to test for at least 24HRS for a good test but I use my computer too much to test it that long.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear customer

If you purchase any memory that is faster than DDR3 1333 CL9 1.5v, you need to manually set to the rated speed. that is the standard rule by JEDEC

3 out of 5 eggsHmmmm bad ram for me

Pros: If I ever find one , I'll tell

Cons: Have been trying to run this ram with advertised speed and timings for a MONTH .
7-7-718 1.9v you say ? well 1T - doesnt work , 2T - doesnt work , ok , tried to O.C. the other way around - 1412mhz 7-7-7-18 - doesnt work , 1t or 2t doesnt matter , the interesting fact : 6-6-6-14 actually worked with this ram , I had 3h+ stable in Prime 95 , till I got multiple crashes in games . tryied the default that my mobo gives - 1333mhz , and timings by spd - doesnt work , chaning voltages doesnt help . Tryied 4 different BIOS versions - didnt affact the d*mn thing at all

Other Thoughts: My rig : Q9550 @ 3.75ghz , this g-skill ram , Foxconn blackOps x48 mobo , sapphire 4870x2 , OCZ 850w PSU , Seagate 7200rpm 160gb HDD

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value!

Pros: Fast, stable, cool. Overall, great memory when coupled with my 790i. It OC's really easily to ddr-1800 speeds, with 8-8-8-21 timings.

Cons: Make sure you have the correct memory IC's if you mix two pairs of them. The first ones I had were Micron D9JNM's. The second round was SEC Samsung memory. Both worked perfectly by themselves, but horridly together. I RMA'd the Micron pair and Hope to get a Samsung replacement set.

Other Thoughts: DDR3 has come a long way in a short time. These sticks are a great value for their size and speed.

5 out of 5 eggsTop shelf ram!!

Pros: Outstanding kit. Does rated speeds with even tighter than advertised timings and 1T easily in x48t-dq6 and xfx 790i ultra. And with 8-7-8-20 2T, 1.95v they run for me 24/7 with a q9650 in the gigabyte x48. Price can't be beat at this time for ram this good. I've also tested them to run 1.5v-1.65v at slower speeds to see if they'll work with my x58 build next week. It's affirmative so I'll be using these with i7 soon.

Cons: I didn't buy more? That's ok, ordering up 2 more sets now for x58.

Other Thoughts: To the guy with the p5e3 premium wifi @n, I had that board, very very briefly, it's not the ram! That is quite possibly the MOST ram fussy board I've ever seen so I think your review is quite unfair. They will in fact work with some very detailed and specific settings. You must use a lot of the sub-timings in bios and even more specifically you need to flash to the right bios. Although it's a screaming clocker, that mobo is not fun.
