Pros: i wonder is that G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 diffrent heat sink ? and diffrent look last time i see same other look that has style heat sink 3 gb single you know i just wonder before i buy it

Pros: My DFI Lanparty Motherboard recognized the ram instantly. Defaulting to 1333 bus in Bios. Board defaults to 1.5 volts.

This ram is one of the few remaining available approved ram for the board in the 1 gig sticks.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Not good to discontinue RAM, sooner or later people wont be able to build computers with slightly older boards.

Pros: Installed it in a Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3LR socket 775 mobo to squeeze some more life and time out of a e4300, 1800mhz and 800fsb stock. This ram works perfect for me. Played with only a few settings. The key thing was setting up the ram adjustments in the mobo manually and bumped the voltage to 1.7v. Runs at 1600mhz and 9-9-9-24 -- with complete stability over all.

Cons: Can't think of any. Doesn't seem to run hot or anything with the speeds and voltage I've achieved with it.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to see how the whole DDR3 thing would go with a socket 775 CPU. I'm loving it. Not really sure if it was worth it when you look at the latency's of DDR3 vs DDR2 right now. But the Gigabyte board I've got combined with this ram allowed me to OC my old e4300 from 1800mhz up to 3200mhz and I was able to get the bus to run double from stock 800 to 1600MHz. Its made for a very reasonable game box with a radeon 4850. When the e4300 was in an older board with slower memory and a slight OC to 2200 it would HyperPI at about 34 seconds, it is now in the low 19 seconds!!
