Too Much Hassle
- Pros: It passed Memtest at 1066.
- Cons: I couldn't get it to run stable at advertised speed. Was at the GSkill forums looking for suggestions for Giabyte GA-X38 DS4 Board. No luck.
- Other Thoughts: I have OCZ Titanium XTC DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) that run @ 1066 24/7 with only a voltage bump 2.3 thats it. I was going to buy OCZ1200 but it was out of stock as was 1150, so I thought I would try these....BIG MISTAKE

Manufacturer Response:. Dear Customer We are sorry to hear you are having an issue with your memory package. If you had no issues with DDR2-1066, you should definitely be able to operate at the advertised speeds. Please make sure that the motherboard is fully supplying the 1.90V to the memory, if not, it can cause instability. If you continue to have issues, please feel free to contact our technical support department directly for assistance. Or, simply post a thread on the Official G.Skill Forum and many people will be able to help you. Thank you GSKILL SUPPORT Quality and customer service are our top priorities. Solid as a Rock
- Pros: Awesome RAM!!! Running at 1200mhz @1.95v and 5-5-5-15 timings for 9 months now without a hickup.
- Cons: None that is can think of.
- Other Thoughts: This was my first time using GSKILL RAM and i am impressed!
My motherboard is the gigabyte ga-ma790gp-ds4h. Shipping was fast as always. Newegg Rocks!
Great punch for the value
- Pros: I bought 8GB of this beauty to put in my EVGA780i SLI motherboard, If you follow the right steps (check the forum at EVGA), you'll be able to run this mem. at the specified speed. However, that'll give you no advantage on your system, you have a memory that's running at ~1100MHz, but your FSB is still @ 333MHz (quad pumped), which means that most of the time your memory is idling. For overclocking, this memory is amazing, I'm running without problems at 833MHz (4-4-4-12). Obviously, this is way below 1100MHz, but the FSB is at 416!!! which give my Q9650 from the factory 3GHz, to an awsome 3.75GHz (w/ the factory air cooling).
The memory runs very cool.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: I had to increase the northbridge voltages a little bit to be able to achieve stability, but this is a problem with the motherboard. Otherwise, I linked the FSB w/Memory speed and left everything in automatic. The simplest & quickest overclocking I've ever done.
Water cooling should give me more room for overcloking, but I'm happy with the current results.
