5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I absolutely love these modules. They run stable at 1200 all day long on my asus rampage formula. I had the previous version and had to use 2.1v-2.2v to get a stable system. These will overclock to 1230 @2.0v but I have not tried to find the max, I bet they will go much higher but I am happy with a cool running stable system that will last a long time. I am using an intel 8600@4.03ghz and will do 4.5 without breaking a sweat.

Cons: None whatsoever

Other Thoughts: Best 9600 on the market if you can find them. I bought them as soon as they came out.

2 out of 5 eggsWont Run 1200 tech support is fail.

Pros: Runs great at 1066

Cons: Wont run at 1200 or anything over 1066. If i wanted 1066 memory, i would have bought that.

Other Thoughts: Tech support and the forums are very bad. They keep suggesting the same thing over. they are never clear, and i really doubt they care after the sale is made. I would suggest another brand. This is the first i have used Gskill and i would not buy it again. I understand that something can be bad but there is no excuse for bad customer service.

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you are unable to operate this memory to specifications. DDR2-1200 can only be used on certain motherboards and CPUs. It is the highest of its class. Consequently, like any of performance kit, manual settings are required. Overclocking may be necessary as well. If you are unsure of how to configure BIOS, please read some overclocking guides or search for other users with similar hardware. With the proper settings, you should have no issues.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for 780i SLI

Pros: Very fast and stable ram. Runs at rated speeds. I didn't encounter any issues whatsoever once I manually entered the proper speed into BIOS. Not a single BSOD WOOT WOOT.

Cons: Not really a con but I wish my motherboard could handle more than two DIMMs of this Ram at once.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding!!

Pros: Should have bought sooner. Fast, reliable, no errors. Works flawless at 1200. Got to 1280 with recommended voltage (2.1) and timmings 5.5.5.15 2t. I'll goof more with it when I get some time. Bumped SSP voltage one notch. Backed down multiplier to 10x then upped FSB to get stable (400)

Cons: ZERO

Other Thoughts: QX9770@4.0G on air, 3vga 780i 4TW 1600 FSB, Since the QX9770 default FSB is 1600 I'm stoked. I'll try to get the ram to run at 1333. I'm sure it will just got to tweak. The 780i FSB does have holes, just jump over them.

5 out of 5 eggsGot what I paid for...

Pros: I got what I paid for, 1200Mhz DDR2 5-5-5-15 @ 2.1v. Was also able to run them at 1000Mhz DDR2 4-4-4-10 @ 2.1v

Cons: Price

Other Thoughts: Going to buy another pair... I like how snappy my system was with the memeory set to 1000Mhz 4-4-4-10 I hope that I will still be able to run them with these settings at 8Gb. 1000Mhz because 4.5Ghz e8400 e0 (500x9)

5 out of 5 eggsstable @1290MHZ !!!

Pros: Works great on my Asus P5Q Pro Turbo. I have a Q9650 running at 3.690 and had it higher but some programs don't do well with overclocks to cpu. according to my bios last week i had the fsb @1700MHZ. update your bios before you even think about OCing anything. i did and it made a difference. Gonna get another set of these.

Cons: Didn't get 2 free with purchase......

Other Thoughts: this ram overclocks well and with ease and i only have 2 for now. if you have a mobo like mine and you only got 1 set of this ram put them both in the yellow dimm slots(dimm A1 & dimm B1). it's better for overclocking on this board.

5 out of 5 eggsThey Work At 1200

Pros: What can I say but they work at 1200. I had Other Computer Zticks that claimed to be 1200 but only got them to work at 1100 even with manual settings and hours of wasted time trying to see how I could get them to 1200.

Asus P5Q Deluxe
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300
Now with 4GB (2x2 GB) RAM
Radeon HD 4850

Cons: Nothing so far. Have not OC'ed my system yet, I will, very soon.

Other Thoughts: What to do with the other sticks of RAM.

1 out of 5 eggs"NOT GUARANTEED TO WORK ON AMD PLATFORMS"

Pros: Absolutely none.

Cons: I installed this RAM on a PC built around a Gigabyte MA790X-UD4P (rev. 1) motherboard running an AMD Phenom II X2 550 CPU with XP 64 bit OS (current). Based on reviews I put BIOS in setup and wrote G. Skill for help in configuring BIOS to get the machine screaming.

On 05/07 G.Skill tech support replied: "On AMD platform, we're not sure if it could run at DDR2 1200. You could try to run DDR2 1200 by overclocking FSB and increasing FSB voltage. But we don't guarantee it would 100% work."

On startup this morning I discovered that my FAT has been completely scrambled and corrupted. While I was able to get booted up after re-installing my Corsair XMS2, I'm going to have to do a clean install.

Since I'm certain that other AMD users have and will continue to purchase this RAM, it would be helpful if G.Skill and Newegg indicated it's potential incompatibility with AMD platforms (slipped your corporate minds?). There should be a black box warning that "it's guaranteed to 100% NOT work.

Other Thoughts: Thanks, G. Skill and Newegg, for an expensive and non-returnable piece of junk. I won't be wasting money with you again.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We apologize for the inconvenience. The reason why they are not guaranteed for AMD platforms is because it depends on your specific AMD CPU and motherboard. Not all will be able to operate this spec, but it is not a memory limitation. The memory itself will have no problem with DDR2-1200 for a system that is fully capable of DDR2-1200. In addition, DDR2-1200 is not a standard frequency, so overclocking is needed and precise voltages will be required. If you need assistance setting the memory up in your system, please feel free to contact our technical support department and they will be more than glad to assist you.

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome !!

Pros: I highly recommend this memory for anyone running the 780i sli platform. Weather you want to go for low latency or high clocks, this memory can do it all with ease. Ive achieved stable settings from 800Mhz @4-4-4-12 1t @2.05v to 1200Mhz @5-5-5-15 2t @2.1v.. 4 hours wall time in memtest89+, 15 passes with Intel burn test at maximum setting using 3 gigs of RAM.. Made boot up times faster, overall system performance a little snappier. In games like Just cause 2 and GTA IV it improved minimum frame rates by all most 30%!!! I dont drop below 45 now where as before it would dip to 25 to 30 frames..
Edit/Delete Message

Cons: None so far...

Other Thoughts: Some people say you dont see any performance gains going from 1066 to 1200Mhz. They are miss informed or have there system configured incorrectly. Ive seen plenty of performance gains with this memory..
