5 out of 5 eggsOld technology but still works!

Pros: Works

Cons: DDR2

Other Thoughts: Needed to upgrade an older Dell Vostro machine to 3GB of RAM to allow a little more wiggle room for multitasking. I used this RAM to upgrade and existing 1GB DIMM.

5 out of 5 eggsworks great

Pros: Works great, 0 DOA. Manufacturer has a lifetime warranty but makes high quality products so I'll probably upgrade my PC long before I encounter issues with it. Affordable.

Cons: DDR2 is legacy and slow, but this is a high quality stick. Not actually blue color which I would have liked, it is green. Other than that, nothing.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM

Pros: I bought 76 sticks of this old stuff. Shockingly I had 0 DOA. All of them worked great. I upgraded some old desktops for 7 with this. It worked great.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsvery high quality

Pros: I've had it over 2 years so far, and it's running smooth as ever. I run a memory diagnostic periodically, and still zero errors. G.SKILL makes very high quality products, and with a lifetime warranty.

Cons: None. DDR2 is kind of obsolete, so get some of their DDR3 sticks if your mobo supports it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM at a Great Price

Pros: Upgraded an older DDR2 PC from 4GB to 8GB with these sticks. I have used G.Skill before and as always it was an easy install with no problems and now I find my heavily modded games like Fallout 3, New Vegas and even Skyrim run much better as well as Photoshop which I use a lot.

On another note, I am also replacing my aging workhorse 512MB GeForce 9800GTX+ with a 2GB GTX660 so my "vintage" rig shall live on for another year or two until I can build a new one utilizing some of the new tech coming out .

Don't expect miracles or to suddenly be able to run the newest games on ultra settings if you have an older machine but you can squeeze some extra quality life out of it just by adding some more RAM and if you're a gamer a better GPU and not drain your bank account in the process. Plus you can always stick that GPU into your new rig to start off with.

Even if you're not a gamer, more RAM will serve you well in memory hungry applications like Photoshop, video editing software or even on the net, watching video, etc.

Bottom line, if your rig uses DDR2 and you just want quality and reliability without breaking the bank, go with these G.Skill sticks!

Cons: None! Happy 'Egger since 2007!

Other Thoughts: I wanted 2x2GB and like an idiot I ordered just one 2GB stick for some reason. Doh! The 'Egg worked so fast that the first order was already packaging by the time I realized my mistake so I had to make another order. The shipping was dirt cheap and the 2nd stick arrived the very next day so it all turned out well.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: Its cheap and it works. No wait -- it changed my life.

Cons: It wasn't free.

Other Thoughts: Free shipping was nice, because I'm a fairly patient man. If you're not willing to wait for a week, maybe you should cough up the extra dough to get it faster, because while I've always gotten stuff really fast before, it actually took a full week this time. Maybe USPS cutbacks to blame -- Newegg shipped it promptly, outstanding job as always.

5 out of 5 eggsGood, Fast, Flawless Memory

Pros: Runs at 1.8v.

It barely gets warm to the touch. Heatsink is really unnecessary unless maybe in the case of overclocking, and even then I doubt a heatsink is required.

The G.Skill brand is one of the very top favorites in the enthusiast community.

Cons: It wasn't free.

5 out of 5 eggsBuy with a new laptop!

Pros: This memory module is a great little upgrade for a new laptop, doubling the memory capacity of [for example] a new Acer Aspire E1-571-6680, or any other laptop with 4GB stock memory. For less than $30, the value is huge.

Cons: This memory module is not the very top of the line in terms of speed or capacity, but it *is* the best value in terms of upgrading an entry-level current-generation laptop (2013 at the time of this writing).

Other Thoughts: Few things are more frustrating than buying a new computer and then running in to latency, lag, and unresponsiveness within the first week or two of using it. This can happen easily with an entry-level laptop, usually in the $400 range. For less than $30 more, you can double your RAM. When using my computer, I generally have running:
at least a dozen browser tabs
music
whatever other program I was working in three days ago
some sort of game or other application running in the background.

With this memory upgrade, my computer doesn't even flinch at these high levels of multi-tasking concurrency.

Additionally, computers may pre-load the most often-used programs at startup. Additional memory will allow the computer to pre-load more programs without using a page file on the disk, eliminating the hang time that comes when you open a program (eg, browser, Adobe, Office, etc).

BOTTOM LINE:
----------------------------------
for less than $30, a valuable upgrade for new laptop. I am very satisfied with this purchase.
