This product allowed to be accomplish that task. I bought this product back in 2010. At the time, I paid about 100 bucks @ 24 dollars it is a STEAL buy it. Cons: With the first set one of the sticks was defective. Newegg handled the RMA quickly and made it easy for me. I got kernel panic minutes after booting into os x 10.6 with 4G installed. Have no way to make os x recognizing them as 1066 memory and run stablely. Manufacturer Response: . Literally put it in and it worked. Everything runs so much faster, and it enabled Parallels with Windows 7 at normal speeds (which was the goal)! Cons: None yet. Hopefully it will stay that way... Other Thoughts: While I recommend this product, it's only been in for about 20 minutes, and the real question is how is it working a couple years down the road. My positive review therefore should be taken with a grain of salt. Always keep your old memory just in case, especially for getting Macs repaired. I believe they require Mac memory within.
