Not understanding..
- Pros: Great memory for the price. Bought 2 of these for 8GB total in my Crosshair II Formula board.
- Cons: When I first got it and put it in, it didn't work at all. I shuffled the ram around the slots and found a configuration that works. Seems to be working ok and memtest returned no errors.
- Other Thoughts: For some reason, the motherboard identified it as DDR2 800, I had to manually set it to DDR2 1066, now inside any program that identifies ram, it says its PC2-6400, not 8500, and says its 400Mhz?! Not sure what to think about this? Is there something I should be doing? Using Windows 7 32bit, switching back to 64bit to see if there is a problem with that.

Manufacturer Response:. Dear Customer The motherboard will identify the memory as DDR2-800 since that is the maximum default for the motherboard. The program will also state that since it is reading iformation based off the motherboard. You will notice the maximum bandwidth or memory is PC2-6400 400MHz, because that is the motherboard JEDEC standard I am speaking of. Anything above DDR2-800 needs to be manually set or the XMP EPP profile must be used. If you manually set memory to 1066, the program should then read 533Mhz (DDR2-1066) EPP#1 so there is nothing wrong with the system. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. Blah....
- Pros: 2 sticks (4gigs) works perfect, Ran at 1066.
- Cons: Tried upgrading to 4 stick (8 gigs) freezes up in games. I tried the recomendations that Gskill gives by placing the NB to 1.4v still does nothing to help...

Manufacturer Response:. Dear Customer We are sorry to hear you are having an issue with your memory package. When operating 8GB, you will also need to loosen some timings to allow for the extra capacity. Not all motherboards will be able to automatically adjust this. If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact us directly with your computer specifications and we will do our best to get your computer running properly. Average RAM
- Pros: It works, and has always worked since I bought them here in early January.
- Cons: I could never make them run at 1066. No amount of voltage tweaking or timing changes ever fixed it. I get BSOD's in XP, Vista, and Windows 7 when I try to run at 1066, but 800 works perfectly fine.
- Other Thoughts: I thought, fleetingly, about buying another set for 8GB when I went to windows 7, but changed my mind. In the future, when I do upgrade my RAM, I will be using a different brand.
