Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. We are sorry to hear your extreme Perfect Storm series has become defective. The performance should have been amazing while it worked. Luckily you purchased G.Skill, so you don't need to buy new memory. Though this specific memory kit is out of stock and discontinued, we can still have it replaced with another model. Glad to hear Anthony was able to provide a good solution. Once you purchase G.Skill, you won't need anything else.

Thank you for choosing G.Skill

5 out of 5 eggsBest Deal on New Hypers

Pros: MGH-E ICs. If you don't know what that means, then go buy some cheap ram. These are the same ICs found on the most expensive sticks. Ram re-branding is basically all a sham as the manus buy from the same pools of ICs on their modules. I've tested these and removed spreaders to see what they really are. Thee are the best deal on the NEW Elpida hyper ICs. GSKILL fo life fool!

You're welcome.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks... fast.

Coming Soon!

Pros: +Fast
+Great timings
+reasonable price for what you're getting
+Ram cooler works great, looks awesome in my Antec 1200, doesn't noticeably add to my (already kind of noisy) system
+Ram cooler is extremely easy to clip on and take off when you add more ram.

Cons: G. Skill's website can be hard to navigate.

Other Thoughts: The memory isn't exactly low profile. It might keep you from using a 38mm deep fan.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Great performance, excellent quality and looks sweet in a EVGA 760 Classified board.

Cons: Not real big issue, but the cooling fans are a tad louder then I like and the blue lighting to them does not really go with the red and black theme.

Other Thoughts: Running this in a EVGA 760 Classified motherboard and it works like a champ. Have my i7 920 set to 201x20 using the XMP 1 profile to get the timings loaded auto for me. I do have to manually adjust the ratio to the 1333Mhz which sets perfect at 2006Mhz reading in the bios.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperb +1

Pros: Well, the memory does the speeds and timings as advertised. I bought what I paid for. I'm running the RAM at 2000mhz at 8-8-8-21-59-1T timings on a EVGA Classified 760 without problems. I succeeded LinX 0.6.1 in 64-bit mode using all available memory for 20 passes with my i7 920 at 4.2ghz...

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I'm glad I didn't waste my money on Dominator GT running at the same specs as these.

3 out of 5 eggsWill not run at stated speed.

Pros: The short heat sinks plus the fan will fit under my 92mm fan on the front side of my Megahalem (use 120mm fan on backside).

Cons: Only stable at 1908mhz with voltage increased to 1.66V with latency at 8. I've purchased 3 sets of this type of expensive RAM of different manufacturers, and none was stable at 2000 at 1.65v for any length of time!!! Haven't tried Corsair yet, and probably won't for the price.

Other Thoughts: 1908 with 1.66v is livable. Except for possibly running Crysis, there is no noticeable bump from high speed RAM. Save some money with cheaper RAM and spend it on a better monitor or SSDs!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

In order to operate at DDR3-2000, your CPU must be overclocked properly and stable to handle the memory speed. Depending on your motherboard as well, it may be unable to handle the speed. Fine tuning of voltage may be required to ensure that everything is receiving a solid connection, otherwise it may cause instability. If you need further assistance setting up your BIOS to operate at DDR3-200, please feel free to email our technical support department with your current settings and they will be able to further assist you. Or simply send screen shots of the BIOS and that will make it much easier to troubleshoot your issue.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME RAM

Pros: Runs great at 2038 on ASUS Rampage 2 Extreme board. Had to change voltage to 1.63-1.65. RAM runs very cool with the stock fan. Very stable memory. Easy to over clock & maintains stability when over clocked!

Cons: Blue Leds? Should be red to mach the rest of the RAM> All my other lights, included heat sink (coolermaster v8) has red leds. Not really a huge con. Fans still keep the RAM very cool.

Other Thoughts: G. Skill has over clock tutorials on their website that tells you how to over clock their memory on certain motherboards & how to overclock the cpu at the same time!

5 out of 5 eggsNo problems

Pros: Absolutely no troubles at stock voltage and timings. No complaints there. Room to play with tighter timings when underclocking the RAM as well.

Cons: The fan is designed for the sticks running in a 6 slot board. I have a Foxconn Bloodrage so the fan will not attach correctly. My Dominator fan works fine. This is not worth taking off an egg because the Bloodrage is in the minority with only 3 RAM slots. However, +1 to Corsair on their RAM fan design.

Other Thoughts: Price difference here is for tighter timings. If you don't really care about that then you can easily find cheaper alternatives. This is very competitively priced for these specs.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Runs @2038, with 8-8-8-21 without a hitch on EVGA X58 Classified.Needed to increase VTT to +375mv. The fans work great! Worth the money.
