Is this compatible with a late 2009 ubibody style macbook?

Yes. I use these in a 2010 MBP, and the polycarb unibody macbook uses the same memory. However, keep in mind that Apple officially supports a maximum of 4 GB of RAM, but third-parties have determined that it actually supports 8 GB of RAM running OS X 10.7.5 "Lion" or higher and the latest EFI update. SO make sure you're up to date.

Why, for mac’s only? Thou I do doubt that’s the case. It’s been my experience that memory could work on any machine depending if the specs match the computer. What I want to know is what makes this memory a mac only Memory?

My guess is something with the hardware assignment of addresses and the specification standard used. It's done the "correct" (probably more expensive) way in the Mac memory. I read reviews from the equivalent "windows/any pc" memory and Mac users who bought that had issues. The G.Skill tech support then specifically pointed to this product which is Mac compatible.

Question 3

I have a white Macbook (not Pro) I believe it's a 2009 late model - some of the specs for memory are confusing as well as the previous questions/answers - at least to me. If I purchase this particular kit is it overloading the memory? The specs on the Macbook say "...up to 4gb" but that seems to be per slot - I'm not sure.  Sorry to be such a doofus, but I don't want to have issues.  It currently has 4gb (2x2gb).  From what I've read it looks as tho I can upgrade to 8gb.  Thanks for clearing it up for me!

Tha max limit on that mac as long as OS X is 10.6.8 or higher, it will accept up to 8 gigs of ram. This G.skill kit which should be 1066mhz ram speed is sufficient.

I have a late2009 iMAC 21.5", will this memory work?
