In addition to robust performance, the G.SKILL ECO series memory kit is designed with another purpose: eco-friendliness. These memory kits operate at 1.35V rather than the standard 1.65V, resulting in less power drain and heat generation. The low profile at 32mm allows easy integration into HTPCs or other small form factor systems. And the premium-quality heatsink promotes efficient heat dissipation, and adds a great look to your chassis.

  • newegg Low Voltage Designed to operate at 1.35V, the G.SKILL ECO memory kit helps lower overall system power usage, which also reduces the heat produced from your system. It requires 18% less VDIMM, and lowers temperatures up to 16%, than the standard 1.65V memory.
  • newegg DDR3 1333 This memory kit is rated at 1333MHz to deliver up to 10.6GBps bandwidth per channel to deal with the evolving needs of today's operating systems and applications. Cas Latency 7 timing ensures smoother system response.
  • newegg Low Profile Heatsink Constructed with a low profile aluminum heat spreader – only 32mm – G.SKILL’s ECO series is a perfect fit in your HTPC or small form-factor system.

5 out of 5 eggsCrunching away.

Pros: Works as advertised; no issues.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Has held up under moderate number-crunching strain for six months without any issues.

5 out of 5 eggsJust What I Was Looking For

Pros: Tight timings, low voltage.
Running 1400MHz @ 7-7-7-21 @ 1.35V.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I installed this memory in my HTPC which is using an H97-based motherboard and a G3240. Other motherboards may vary in their behavior, but mine does not allow the RAM to run faster than 1400MHz with this CPU, regardless of XMP (I'd tested 1600 and 1867MHz RAM borrowed from other rigs).

5 out of 5 eggsRuns better than advertised.

Pros: Been running 24x7 for 3 months in a low-power home server. A few watts cooler than normal voltage DDR3.

Cons: None noted.

Other Thoughts: Motherboard: GA-H81M-DS2V
CPU: Pentium G3420

Memtest Stable 24+ hours at 1.22V. Been running the pair at 1.25V 24x7 for 3 months with no issues.

5 out of 5 eggsClean look, quality product, low energy.

Pros: Time will tell, but these went into my new rig with no issues. Very asthetically appealing heat sink, just a clean but sharp design. I don't have clearance issues at the moment, but may end up installing an aftermarket cooler, which would need to be low profile, which means it would probably infringe on the RAM space.

I like the lower voltage and the tight timings. Reality is that they will probably overclock with some tweaking, but I am all for lower power consumption and don't need blazing speed for this application. Lower voltage = lower heat. I am going from 2GB of DDR2, so it is a huge upgrade overall and all that it needs to handle is Netflix for my boys and a few shows/movies for my wife and I.

Cons: None at this time.

Other Thoughts: I think this is a safe bet for any build. The RAM I have in my current PC is looser timings at a higher frequency, but 1.65v. I would rather pay a few dollars more for the lower timings and knowing that there is still room to increase frequency if I really wanted to.

1 out of 5 eggsNever buying G.Skill again.

Pros: Low cost, good RAM if you don't get a defective stick.

Cons: Con #1) Bought two packs, one stick was dead on arrival. By the time I had the parts to finally assemble the PC that would house the RAM, Newegg's grace period had expired and I had to depend on G.Skill's RMA process instead.

Con #2) When I called up G'Skill, they were very unhelpful, and G.Skill's support staff was very condescending. For that reason alone, I will stop buying G.Skill products. There are plenty of competitors.

Other Thoughts: I needed to RMA an EVGA video card from the same build (fan problem.) I called them up, and EVGA had set up a cross-shipment for me in less than 10 minutes, all while remaining on the phone with me to make sure all issues had been addressed. Quite professional and respectful.

G.Skill - you might want to take note.

5 out of 5 eggsEco Friendly

Pros: Nice eco friendly product, well supported by major motherboards, fast and low power usage for eco friendly computer.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: some motherboards don't support 1.35v so be careful on your purchase. I suggest doing some research before purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: -Low profile
-7 cycle latency
-Less power consumption if you're into that

Cons: A little more expensive

Other Thoughts: I bought this set instead of the equivalent Ripjaws (of which I already have a set) because of the low profile. These *barely* fit under the fan on my CPU cooler. I'm running these at 1.5 volts with a clock of about 700MHz. Unfortunately that's a decrease for me. With only the Ripjaws I was able to get a 750Mhz stable clock.

5 out of 5 eggsFAST and STABLE

Pros: This is the CAS7 version, there is a cheaper CAS8 version. I made the right choice.

Low voltage (though I'm running mine at 1.5). timings set at @1333 (7.7 WEI if you care). Went in and got to work immediately, no hiccups. Paired this with a 955 and an intel SSD, and cold boot to idle desktop takes about 12 seconds, nothing slows these babies down.

I wouldn't recommend OC'ing these past 1333, just tighten the timings @ or slightly below MR and you'll get all the speed you need.

G-Skill is the only ram I buy. Choose wisely (like this item), and G-skill will blow you away. They make fantastic ram. I still have some DDR2 from years ago that run beautifully.

Cons: Not as flashy looking as some of the others, but then, it is low profile enough to fit under even the more aggressive cpu coolers.

Other Thoughts: My rig:

AMD 955BE (C3) @4.0
G.Skill ECO 4gb ( @1333)
Intel 320 Series 120gb SSD
Zalmann 9900 MAX 135mm
Corsair 750w
XFX 5830 1gb
xclio A380
