5 out of 5 eggsStable

Pros: Runs at speeds shown. Overclocked everything on my computer and it runs at about 32 degrees celcius thanks to the nifty fan included in this package. These things were a breeze to overclock and it makes me happy that overclocking is becoming easier.

Cons: Absolutely none. I enjoy the larger heat sinks. To those that say these are expensive, you obviously don't know what these timings mean.

Other Thoughts: I have 2 of this package and I cannot help but laugh at others. Also to those that can't get these to run at 2000 mhz.. make sure your motherboard supports it. I've seen too many people talk to me about not getting 2000 speed ram up to 2000. High end motherboard, high end PSU, high end CPU, high end ram = high end price. Deal with it.

5 out of 5 eggsAM3 Super Ram?

Pros: They work at advertised timings and speed.
They work at advertised timings and speed in all 4 dimms.

I want to point out, that those Pros (are exactly what you expect from all RAM), but they worked without tweaking.

That is a first for me. It didn't even break a sweat on my motherboard or CPU IMC. I feel they have a huge overclock potential.

Dual Channel Kit that is on par with the lower ended Triple Channel Kit (which is very very good.)

Cons: Required a nominal voltage increase to pass POST.

Heatsinks/spreaders too tall, and WILL be problematic for
large CPU heatsink owners (stop pushing WATER COOLING already!!!! I get it, I am behind!)

Other Thoughts: Voltage:

Quick Benchmarks:
Latency @ stock speeds, 41.3 ns (avg)
Latency @ 3000 NB, 32.9 ns (avg)
Latency @ 1090T @ 4.2 GHz + 3000 NB, 32.3 ns (avg)

Read @ 12,700 MB/s (avg and rounded down)
Write @ 10,300 MB/s (avg and rounded down)

Took 1.7125v instead of 1.65v. Not a complaint really, but it is above advertised. Considering I am using a Crosshair IV which they were specifically catered too, I feel it should be mentioned.

3 out of 5 eggsOk Ram..

Pros: Ram runs at the correct latency, however I had a similar issue to that of another review which was that the ram couldn't run at the correct speed (2000).

Cons: As I said it couldn't run at the correct speeds. But unlike the other review, ours wouldn't even run at 1800, ours would only become stable around 1700 (we reached it due to overclocking the cpu). Soon after both of the sticks failed and are creating a bunch of System_Service_Exception BSOD's. So I ran memtest86 and both of the sticks failed independently before getting through the first pass. So i'm returning them to newegg and i'm going to buy something that I feel more comfortable with (sorry for sounding like a fan boy) but Mushkin has simply been good to me over the years.

Other Thoughts: I'm sure plenty of people have had good luck with G.Skill and I'm sure that this set works for some, but it didn't for me and actually the memory cooler we received was different from that of what they showed in the picture, ours was the dual fan cooler that they show in some of their other series.

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you were unable to reach the rated specifications. For DDR3-2000, it is required to increase the memory controller voltage to support the frequency. Most CPUs are only made to support DDR3-1333 max, so of course a voltage boost is necessary to support DDR3-2000. Just like overlocking anything else, when you up the frequency, you must up the voltage as well. If you are unsure of how to do this and need further assistance, please contact our technical support department and they will be glad to guide you in the right direction. With the proper settings, this memory kit will make your system very fast.

Thank you

4 out of 5 eggsI guess it's okay

Pros: Runs Great no really serious issues with the ram

Cons: I own an m4 a89gtdpro usb 3.0 mb and even after updating bios I have a strange issue where My pc won't boot even to bios when I put both stick in. I've contacted G. Skill and they walked me through it and it worked fine. Then the next day I just pressed the power button and it would not boot with both sticks in again.

Other Thoughts: Yes I used the correct channels and even attempted to run the bios with everything at default (yes both sticks checked in every config I could think of). after talking to the G.skill guy I determined that I could run 1 stick at about 1800 mhz at the 6-9-6-24 latency settings and T2

My build
pc-k62 dragonlord series case
AMD 965 black edition with 120w setup
2x 2gb gskill pis series(one set of two not two sets of two)
(yes I know this is junk but...)
nvidia 8400gs EVGA (really need to buy a new one its from my last PC but the new GPU doubles the cost of my tower!)
ACE1000 -- A-Power ACE 1000W 20+4-pin ATX PSU w/SATA
a blue ray player I grabbed randomly from walmart (100 bucks not bad at the time)
and a seagate barracuda HDD 500GB

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Please make sure you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard. That is a very odd problem. If you continue to have issues, simply email our technical support department and they will be able to get your system working properly.

4 out of 5 eggsDon't pay this price

Pros: Latencey

Cons: Price

Other Thoughts: I bought the 2200MHz G.Skill PIS version for $159.00. I slowed down the clock and ran it at these timmings and it works great. I am running @ 2000MHz 6-9-6-24-2N and am 30 cheaper. Same but cheaper

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsIf you know what you're doing

Pros: On an I7, this blows away most of the older quads. It can be used on the older quad systems however. You can use Socket 775 with this ram or the I7 boards. I really would love to try this... the latency is better than my 800 mhz ram. The CAS latency is 6.

Cons: The gift that no one could buy.

Other Thoughts: Why charge so much when the market really demands it?!? Seriously, this RAM should sell at $150 for 4 GB.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: low cl latency gives ram GREAT potential if ur overclocking expecially with i5 or i7

Cons: the 9 in the timings is a bit high if u could bring it down even to 8 on ur system u would gain great improvements to fully reap ur cl6 settings

the PRICE

Other Thoughts: i really wanted this ram was hoping for it to be around 160-180us bit i cant buy it now
