1 out of 5 eggsG.Skill customer service sucks!

Pros: None.

Cons: This is my reply to GSkill concerning my post, as I couldn't find a reply button. Newegg feel free to combine this reply to my original post.

I shouldn't have had to have gotten Newegg involved in trying to help me with my memory issue from YOUR company. Sure once Newegg contacted you all of a sudden I finally hear from your company (BTW thanks Newegg).

So after waiting for over 72 hours and not hearing a word from GSkill I finally called the company on the phone and some smart alec that claimed to be a supervisor there told me I had to wait ANOTHER 8 hours before I'd hear anything back from them (I'm sorry by this time I was so ticked off at GSkils I just hung up and didn't get that persons name). Sorry GSkils this little ploy might work for your other customers but not with me. There's plenty of other major memory manufactures that will respect my hard earned money and me.

I could say a lot more but I've wasted enough of my time on your messed up memory. The bottom line is you lost me as a customer forever.

So GSkills you dare to ask your customers to wait 72 hours for a RMA while your customer's computer is crashing left and right because of the dreaded BSOD issues from your bad memory? Here's my challenge to your company. Hold your breath until I purchase something else from your company, you'll have a much longer wait than 72 hours this I can guarantee you. My computer is back up and running great once again thanks to another companies memory.

1 out of 5 eggsG.Skill customer service sucks!

Pros: None.

Cons: This memory finally died causing my computer all sorts of BSOD issues. I ran MemTest86 and received over 2585 errors, even the Windows Memory Check program said the memory was faulty. I contacted G.Skill 3 days ago requesting a RMA number so I can send this garbage back to them for replacement. I followed their instructions for requesting a RMA to the letter. Still not a word from G.Skill, I need my computer now not when it's convent for G.Skill to get back to me. When I once had memory issues with some Corsair memory, 10 mins on the phone with their tech guy and I had new replacement memory in the mail to me. I'm done with G.Skill they'll never receive another dime from me.

I also emailed G.Skills last night again asking about my RMA, still not a word from them as this afternoon.

Other Thoughts: Stick with the better known memory companies, they take care of you when you have issues. Sorry to say I can't say this about G.Skill.

Dear Customer

If you are in need of immediate service or assistance, call us directly and we will be glad to help. The G.Skill USA telephone support number is (909) 598-6860. Otherwise, with email support, it can take up to 72 business hours for a response. It is generally much shorter, so you should receive a response shortly. Telephone support can also eliminate any communication error. If a representative is available, you will be able to reach them immediately. For any further questions or concerns, feel free to let us know directly.

Thank you for your cooperation

5 out of 5 eggsWow eazy and quick

Pros: This is a uptick from my 4 gb 800mhz
eazy to install
runs more applications than ever before...

Cons: I had overnight shipping but it took 4 days and no refund on shipping so I am mad for that

Other Thoughts: I love this but I am mad about shipping

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very fast memory!! Got it on sale but not here. That said however I got it on sale so only reason I bought these pair. Cas of 8 or 9 for $50 cheaper is just as good unless of course you can get them on sale. Wink Wink

Cons: None. G.Skill always never lets me down.

Other Thoughts: @ZiRiS below. The RAM isn't running @ 800Mhz. It runs at 1600Mhz. Just because CPU-Z or other similar software reports it @ 800Mhz it really is 800Mhz x 2 = 1600Mhz.

5 out of 5 eggsThis RAM is FAST!

Pros: This RAM is FAST! It's only 800 MHz, but it makes up for it with that Cas Latency of only 7!

Cons: None. Never had an issue...I just wish I'd bought more than 1 kit!

Other Thoughts: This RAM runs everything I throw at it without even blinking! I have had ZERO trouble with it! I manually set the timings and voila! Best, fastest RAM i've ever owned in my 14 year IT career! Highly Recommended!

RAM-Disk is *NOT* an installation procedure!

5 out of 5 eggsFast Memory

Pros: Fastest Memory I have ever owned. Works great.

I had to manually set the the timings and voltage, but I kind of prefer it that way.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: MB = GIGABYTE GA-MA78LMT-S2
CPU = AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban 3.3GHz

1 out of 5 eggsNot Reliable for Asus P8P67 Deluxe

Pros: The memory kinda almost sometimes and occasionally works.

Cons: Mother board puts out error codes "E1" and "EA", memory may be the cause. Even though the memory is listed in the QVL.

Other Thoughts: A g.skill technician had this to say in the g.skill forum:

("Send those in for RMA and exchange them for the F3-12800CL7D-8GBXH This is the correct model for the P67. Thank you GSKILL TECH ")

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you had issues. Please test one module at a time to determine whether it may be a problem with a single stick. If so, send them in for RMA to exchange for the RipJaws X series kit. The RipJaws X series is designed specifically for your motherboard, so it should work by simply enabling the XMP Profile. For any further questions or issues, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Memory

Pros: Easy to overclock, very fast with my 1100T. No heat issues, works as advertised. This is the first GSkill memory I've owned.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Low latency, cheap, fast, DDR3. I plugged it in and it works.

Cons: Heat spreaders stick up a bit...not sure if this would be a problem with small motherboards and large aftermarket CPU coolers. It's not a problem on my motherboard, as I'm just using the stock cooler.

Other Thoughts: I didn't run any benchmarks, but WEI went from 7.0 to 7.1 after switching from DDR2-800 CaS 5 memory to this stuff. I had to manually set the frequency to 1600, as the motherboard set it as 1333, but no big deal. The fact that it's CaS latency is 7 makes me happy. :-)
