2 out of 5 eggsProblems

Pros: none

Cons: constantly gives problems. Pc shuts down, etc.

Other Thoughts: After owning these for 1+ years and always having to go into Bios to configure, I have had it. It runs well at first in XMP mode, then that starts to go too. At first I thought it was my GPU giving me problems (GTX 690) but after much troubleshooting, it was the memory.
Don't waste your money

Dear Customer

We can definitely help you with an unstable system. Blue screens, shut downs, and such are most commonly caused by defective hardware or improper settings. To determine whether a module may be bad, test each stick individually to see if one performs differently. You can also test each memory slot to see if a slot may be defective. For memory settings, it is necessary to manually input RAM specifications, or enable the enhanced performance profile. Depending on CPU used, further tweaks may be necessary as not all processors natively support ultra low voltage or DDR3-1600. If you would like assistance with configuration, please feel free to contact the G.Skill technical support team. They will make sure the memory is working fast and stable in your computer.

4 out of 5 eggsGood product

Pros: easy install, but its only RAM... set its own clocks and timings right away. extremely plug and play capable

Cons: replaced my computers stock 1333 2x2 with this set and didn't gain a point on my WEI

Other Thoughts: wish it was more visible in my case. Looks kinda cool

corsair GS800, 550Ti, 64GB ssd boot, Biostar 990fxe.... waiting for piledriver <.<

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the RAM was easy to install. This memory kit is above standard, so it is not plug and play unless you enable XMP (Intel) or DOCP/EOCP (AMD). To enable the performance value of the memory, manually configure settings in BIOS/EFI, or enable the memory's enhanced performance profile. Without inputting any settings, the memory will operate as standard memory. That may be why WEI did not increase, or it may be a glitch. Should you need any assistance or have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly. We will make sure the memory is working fast and stable in your computer.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice RAM

Pros: Very stable. Not a single issue with all 4 cards.
Overclocked to 1866 Mhz
Could probably go higher but I'm running an Xeon E3 1230 Ivy Bridge

Running in my MSI Z77A-G45 motherboard with COOLER MASTER Hyper N 520 RR-920-N520-GP on my CPU, plenty of room with the cooler.

Cons: Doesn't make me cake in the morning.

Other Thoughts: Really nice RAM, buy it, now.

Yes really, now.

Not later, now.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't bother.

Pros: Uhh...

Cons: Started with memtest. I stopped it at 30% because by then it had over 250 errors. What this results to, was trying to run a game and my computer locked up in under 5 minutes.

The heat sinks are cheap and don't really work.

And this was probably my fault, but I think it's worth mentioning for potential buyers. Since I'm running an AMD processor, I couldn't actually get the full 1600MHz x 2 (or 800MHz per stick). I was only able to get 1333MHz x 2 (or 666MHz per stick). I tried tinkering in BIOS to make it 1600MHz, and I did succeed, but trying to boot up windows would just result in a BSOD.

Other Thoughts: In short: Don't buy if you run an AMD processor. Don't buy if you expect heat sinks that actually do what they are supposed to. Don't buy if you don't know how to run memtest86+.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you are having issues. We can surely assist you with this and have your system running stable. This is a low voltage memory kit so special settings are necessary especially if an AMD CPU is used. Not all AMD CPUs can support full slots of DDR3-1600, so CPU tweaks may be necessary as well to stabilize the system. Please contact the G.Skill technical support team with hardware specifications and they will be able to assist you with this. With the proper settings in BIOS, your computer will be stable with this high performance 16GB kit.

Thank you
