4 out of 5 eggsIt's RAM

Pros: Pretty standard DDR3 that happens to be low-volted.

G. Skill has a pretty good track record as far as RAM goes.

It's not garishly colored.

Cons: Nothing's terribly special about 1600Mhz DDR3 with 9 CAS latency nowadays, but then again your options are pretty limited if your CPU requires low-voltage RAM.

Other Thoughts: If you're using a Skylake CPU with DDR3 (like myself), this might be your best bet.

Hi Thomas

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. This is a popular low voltage memory kit with high performance capabilities. With 16GB installed, the computer will be capable of multi-tasking and heavy duty purposes. Due to the standard voltage specification, the CPU and system can remain nice and cool even during full load. Power usage is also at a minimum, so you have a very efficient machine. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsVery timings tolerant

Pros: Even though my motherboard provides 1.5v to the memory this 1.35v memory booted with various timings. I could not get it to run full speed but I didn't expect to given the voltage difference.

Cons: None

2 out of 5 eggsProblems

Pros: none

Cons: constantly gives problems. Pc shuts down, etc.

Other Thoughts: After owning these for 1+ years and always having to go into Bios to configure, I have had it. It runs well at first in XMP mode, then that starts to go too. At first I thought it was my GPU giving me problems (GTX 690) but after much troubleshooting, it was the memory.

Dear Customer

We can definitely help you with an unstable system. Blue screens, shut downs, and such are most commonly caused by defective hardware or improper settings. To determine whether a module may be bad, test each stick individually to see if one performs differently. You can also test each memory slot to see if a slot may be defective. For memory settings, it is necessary to manually input RAM specifications, or enable the enhanced performance profile. Depending on CPU used, further tweaks may be necessary as not all processors natively support ultra low voltage or DDR3-1600. If you would like assistance with configuration, please feel free to contact the G.Skill technical support team. They will make sure the memory is working fast and stable in your computer.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast and Stable

Cons: One of the sticks burnt out on me, I returned it for warranty and never received a replacement from g.skill.

Other Thoughts: This would have gotten 5 eggs if they honored the warranty.

4 out of 5 eggsGood product

Pros: easy install, but its only RAM... set its own clocks and timings right away. extremely plug and play capable

Cons: replaced my computers stock 1333 2x2 with this set and didn't gain a point on my WEI

Other Thoughts: wish it was more visible in my case. Looks kinda cool

corsair GS800, 550Ti, 64GB ssd boot, Biostar 990fxe.... waiting for piledriver <.<

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the RAM was easy to install. This memory kit is above standard, so it is not plug and play unless you enable XMP (Intel) or DOCP/EOCP (AMD). To enable the performance value of the memory, manually configure settings in BIOS/EFI, or enable the memory's enhanced performance profile. Without inputting any settings, the memory will operate as standard memory. That may be why WEI did not increase, or it may be a glitch. Should you need any assistance or have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly. We will make sure the memory is working fast and stable in your computer.
