5 out of 5 eggsGood Memory

Pros: Like most memory, no problems. All sticks worked when board posted.

Cons: I ordered two pairs of 4gb. Came packaged in a nice box. Inside were two boxes containing a pair each. Installed on the motherboard just fine. Each pair of memory modules came with a fan setup to keep them cool. Since the fans cover all four modules, I only need one fan mount. Left the other in the box. Upon booting, I noticed a clicking sound. After a reboot, one of the two fans on the mount did not spin. I touched it, and it went to spinning with the clicking sound again.
I swapped that mount with the other, no clicking, and both fans working great.
No egg loss for it, because if I would of used the other mount to begin with, I would have never noticed it.

Other Thoughts: Wish I could have gotten the fans to highlight red instead of the blue. It would have matched the ambient lighting of the case and MB better. But it works. so no big deal

5 out of 5 eggsjust awesome

Pros: The pro's of these memory sticks are that they are just simply fast Right out of the box, I plugged them in and tweaked the bios accordingly. Packaging was VERY tight, clean, and came in a nice cases.

Cons: So far, the only con I can see is that there isn't really a lot of room for the fans that come with the sets to install. I have an Asus Maximus V extreme EATX board, my MOBO has the #1 PCIE slot that my graphics card (Geforce GTX 680 FTW) is set up in, and the RAM slots are right up against the card. so placing the fans in there are impossible.

Other Thoughts: This ram does what it is supposed to do right out of the box. (At least mine did) I can't say that I am EXTREMELY impressed, I tried to overclock them just ever so slightly without increasing voltages, I wasn't able to do it.(except at the rated OC at 2400)

4 out of 5 eggsworks as intended, first boot

Pros: Works great! Booted up automatically to its listed speed and settings coupled with a compatible ASUS P9X79 PRO LGA 2011 Intel X79.

Cons: - One of the heatsink fans has 1 fan that was defunct and doesn't spin, but that's the only con (this is the only reason I gave it 4 eggs)
- Very tight fit for the heatsink fan setups
- Expensive

Other Thoughts: Part of new build:

- Thermaltake Level 10 GT Snow Edition
- ASUS P9X79 PRO LGA 2011 Intel X79
- Intel Core i7-3820 Sandy Bridge-E 3.6GHz
- CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Water Cooler

- EVGA Superclocked Signature 2 02G-P4-2687-KR GeForce GTX 680
- CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX850

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is working great in your new build. Not all i7-3820 CPUs are capable of DDR3-2400, so it is nice yours was able to. With 16GB of DDR3-2400, your computer will be capable of anything you put it to without any lag or delays. It is surely faster than any pre-built computer money can buy. With regards to the defective fan, send it in for RMA exchange; a new one can be sent to you immediately so your build can be complete. Visit the G.Skill website for complete RMA procedure. For any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us directly.

3 out of 5 eggswill not XMP

Pros: works fine when used at default speed

Cons: when XMP is turned on in the BIOS the system will freeze and BSOD within in an hour or 2 you can only fit 1 of the 2 cooling fans that came with RAM. Called support and was given no steps to troubleshoot and when i asked about RMA they will not cross ship. i cannot be without my computer for a week or more.

Dear Customer

We will be glad to assist you with any issues. With the latest BIOS, the memory should work with XMP enabled. If not, test each individually to see if one performs differently. A bad module can cause problems, or if all modules test fine, the problem may lie elsewhere. With regards to cooling fans, the RipJaws Z series is designed for the X79 platform (quad channel), which is why it comes with two memory coolers. Since you have a Z77 platform (dual channel), only a single memory fan is needed. With proper BIOS configuration, this motherboard, CPU, and memory combination will be one of the fastest computers one can build.

5 out of 5 eggsWow!!! The best!!

Pros: Locked in instantly at 2400 (2398) -- the only quads I found (of 3 sets) that did that and be stable!! Able to OC CPU more now with rock stability, haven't found top end yet. I really enjoy that "snap" from fast RAM.

Cons: At this price, I would expect heavier heat sink, and the fans provided are really cheesy... I'm still using my Corsair fans that throw much more air, are quieter, and have 3-pin connectors that work with my fan controller.

Other Thoughts: Worth the money despite the cheesy fans.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice...

Pros: To make a long story short, my particular i7-3770K doesn't like running at 2400mhz, so I had to settle with 2200mhz 10-10-10. I then started lowering the volts until they became unstable and was shocked when I got all the way down to 1.485v! 1.475v locked up. Settled on 1.5v for peace of mind.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Bought this set for my ASUS Maximus V Gene board because it was the fastest memory on the approved list that Newegg had in stock. If you are running this board, it will overvolt VCCSA to 1.15v if left on Auto. Do NOT let it! Set it to 1.10v max. One of my i7-3770K's got a damaged memory controller running this set at 1.15v and it "popped" and is now only stable at 1600mhz no matter what memory I pair it with.
