5 out of 5 eggsboss

Pros: Fast kit, reasonable price, easy to setup with intel XMP.

Cons: The packaging is stupid and it comes with fans that will be useless to most because they are unneeded for keeping the kit cool.

Other Thoughts: great memory kit for rampage iv black edition

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!

Pros: 3x faster than DDR3-1333. Went from 20GBps read @ 1333 to 60GBps @ 2400, tested with AIDA64. Worked flawlessly with Asus Sabertooth x79 & i7 4930k. I only raised my VTTCPU to 1.15v form 1.0v to be on the safe side and keep it withing .5v of the RAM's voltage.
This ram is begging to be overclocked. I ran OCCT /w 90% RAM usage for over an hour and the ram peaked to 38c. I was expecting 10c higher (case was opened for monitoring too). Which makes me wonder - why even have fans? Its barely warm to the touch under full workload, oh yeah - overclock!
Certified to work with x79/2011 platform.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If your system has difficulty using this ram/does not detect the right speeds and your on an X79/2011, before RMA'ing the ram realize that your BIOS/UEFI might not be setting the XMP profile correctly. I had this happen with Kingston. Some motherboards do not like to bump up the voltage unless the user does it. Also on MSi mobos & ASUS Rampage 1150 mobo I have had G.Skill RAM show up as different speeds - its not necessarily the RAM.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat! .... until now.

Pros: - Great Performance at its rated speed
- Stays cool under stress

Cons: - Fans need clips on both side of RAM slots to install which my motherboard only has clips one side. Common nowadays which i am surprised G. Skill has not accounted for.
- Fans are huge!
- Hard to get stable above 1600MHz. Which my computer now refuses to post if RAM is set above 1600MHz.. Diagnostics concluded it is the RAM not allowing the computer to post. and if the computer does post it takes forever to initialize any operation that has to do with the RAM
- I have two resistors touching each other! One is off the pad on the PCB which is touching a nearby resistor! This is not IPC standard! Lucky, the trace shows it goes that direction anyways.

Other Thoughts: Flawless RAM! I mean absolutely Flawless that is until about a 1.2 years later.......
Running the RAM at 2400MHz was an absolute treat did so since day 1.
One day however my desktop refused to POST out of nowhere. It continued to hang up at code Fb with the DRAM led diagnostic light lit up. Switch the RAM out every known way I could still refused even with just one stick. Stuck a different DDR3 chip in 1600MHz G. Skill RAM and it booted up, stuck this stuff back in would not post until I lowered the speed to 2133MHz.
Played there for awhile until a month or two later, Bang, no POST this time with code 14, tweakit lock out, and DRAM LED lit once again. Since the RAM locked the BIOS up this time I was forced to clear CMOS and recover my settings.
I now have the RAM limping at 1600 MHz. We will see how long this holds up .... time to save for new RAM.
Oh, btw one of my chips has a resistor off its pad, another is misaligned and touching a nearby resistor.... could be why these chips are slowing dying out ... nor is this up to IPC Standards. I am surprised these chips passed through testing, and quality. I assemble power control PCB at my work place so I know what I am looking at, but if these chips made it out our door lives could be at risk if our products where to fail.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

Glad to hear the memory was performing fast and cool in your system. This is a ultra high performance memory kit that should work extremely well in a system that can support it. DDR3-2400 can unleash the full processing power of any CPU on the market, and 32GB is plenty of capacity to run everything simultaneously without causing the operating system to lag or delay. If you feel a module is not working properly, test each module individually to see if one performs differently. Keep in mind all G.Skill memory kits are backed by a manufacturer lifetime warranty. At any time you believe the RAM is faulty, send them in for RMA exchange and we can replace them with new memory right away. You do not need to save up for new RAM. With G.Skill, one time purchase of RAM is all you need for each computer, then you are protected for life.

Thank you

Quality and customer service are our top priorities.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking Fine With Sabertooth X79 and Rampage IV Black Edition

Pros: I can use these with XMP Profile #1 or #2 and they've worked fine on both an Sabertooth X79 and a Rampage IV Black Edition. I've used 3820, 3930k and a 4930k CPU. As well I can tighten he timings on the Black Edition with my 4930k, even 1t, so I get great
RAM speeds!

Cons: Don't use the fans but have never needed them.

Other Thoughts: Best RAM for X79 boards!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Memory!!

Pros: These are a great set of cards, run super smooth and do what they're supposed to do! I plan on getting another one of these when I have extra money! Highly recommended but make sure they are compatible with your MB!

Cons: I don't use the fans it came with and wish they had a kit excluding the fans for less money. That would be a great option as it's a waste not being able to use them, but paying for them.

5 out of 5 eggsGSKILL RAM

Pros: wow my first shot at 32 gigs of ram, and let me tell you this is a low price for this kind of ram fits about any system nicely and its great company to get this spoke to quite a few techs from several companies but gskill tech was the one who seemed to know the same but went out of his way to care more about the system i was building and wanted to make sure i was getting the correct ram speed and latency he spent quite a bit of time with me and thats what made me make this decision to buy from them quality and the service plus a lifetime guarantee

Cons: none at all

Other Thoughts: LIFETime GUARANTEE

5 out of 5 eggsRuns like it says

Pros: This memory has run at it's rating now for 48 hours of AIDA testing on an OCd 4790k rig. Seems to run great and stable.

Cons: None so far. Fans are kind of annoying but whatever.

5 out of 5 eggsG.Skill Revisited

Pros: In my previous review I had mentioned that this memory kit has the capability of running at 2400MHz which is pretty darn fast. I have 82 GB installed (4x8). Unfortunately, my BIOS only saw 1333MHz and when I tried to get it to a frequency above 1600MHz, the PC became unstable and would not boot. I am currently using an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX r2.0 which has an excellent feature built into the MB called RAM OK. With the press of a button, the memory is cleared and set back to default speed & timings.

I don't need to run my memory at 2400MHz, but I was irritated by the fact that I couldn't get it above 1666MHz without making the PC unstable. So I contacted G.Skill customer support, via e-mail, and all I can say is that their customer service is by far the BEST support I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Although I set my tech knowledge to 5, I am referring to hardware. Give me $1,000.00+ and I can build a fast & smooth PC. However, when it comes to things like overclocking, I am completely in the dark. I had question after question for the technicians at G.Skill's customer support and they always got back to me the same day, or the next business day depending on when I sent the e-mail. I can't give them enough praise to do them justice.

I did eventually get the memory's frequency up to 2400MHz and the system was perfectly stable. However, I'm only running it at 1866MHz as I have no need for memory running at 2400MHz and putting huge amounts of stress on my CPU (AMD 8-core Vishera 4.7 GHz), as it runs on the warmer side at 1333MHz. Although I didn't have any problems keeping the CPU cool (I have an Antec Kuhler H20 1250 water cooling solution), I still didn't see any need to place additional workloads on the CPU. With the timings and direction from G.Skill's customer support, I am now able to run a stable, cool PC at 1866MHz. I'm not a PC gamer (I am a console gamer), so I have no need to run the memory any higher than 1866MHz. Truth be told, it ran just fine at 1333MHz, but the memory kit was rather expensive so I wanted to at least be able to run it at it's full potential. My system has more than enough fans, plus the water cooling solution, so heat dissipation was never really a problem for me, still, 1866MHz seems to be a sweet spot. Computer runs fast and quiet.

I would give the customer support at G.Skill 10 eggs if I could. Thank you so much G.Skill customer support!

Cons: None, except, potentially, the price of the kit.

Other Thoughts: If you know what you're doing, OC'ing the memory couldn't be easier (just make sure your MB supports memory running at 2400MHz. Check the QVL in the user manual of your MB if you plan on upgrading your memory. Nothing more disappointing, as well as frustrating, than purchasing a memory kit which is not supported by your MB.

5 out of 5 eggsG. Skill DDR3 Memory

Pros: Overclockable up to 2400 MHz.
Includes self-contained cooling fans.
Simple but aesthetically appealing.

Cons: Cost.

Other Thoughts: I generally use Corsair memory but this particular set was listed in the ASUS Sabertooth FX R2.0 QVL (at this frequency).
