Will this memory work with my msi motherboard without any issues? I have an mpower max ac lga 1150.

I would check their website and verify motherboard is qualified. I had to do that with my Intel Z77-series board. I had used the incorrect RAM and didn't see all of the memory I had installed, and over time I developed system stability issues which lead to data corruption and BSODs.

During my research of the problem, I checked the specs of my motherboard, and found the memory I was using was incorrect. I then did more research and found that GSkill is a QV (Qualified vendor) and the spec I needed was readily available from them.

This will save you money in the long run, as well as the frustration, when setting up your system.

Question 2

After trying two ASRock mobos that didn't seem to work, I'm looking into an ASUS M5A97. I looked at the supported memory, and saw G.SKILL on it, but I didn't see anything about 8gig G.SKILL sticks being supported. The mobo does support up to 32 gigs of RAM, but I don't want to buy another dud. Would these work?

Yes they would. The Asus M5A97 supports them. So long as the MBO can support the DDR3 DDR2 etc... and the frequency it can take any Ram set so long as it doesn't go about the maximum the MBO can handle.

I'd recommend visiting pcpartpicker. com to virtually build you computer first. They keep it up to date and it won't let you select any components that are not compatible, unless you deactivate that setting.

Question 3

Uhg. Once more I come to you, oh interwebz, for answers to my questions. I ordered an ASUS M5A97 mobo, but it apparently no longer exists for sale. I'm now ordering an ASUS ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0, but I don't want to hit the final button until I know this RAM will work with it. I didn't see it in the supported memory list, but PCPartPicker said it should be fine. Any input?

With most compatibility lists, a match is good but no match is not necessarily bad.  The mobo should have general memory specs ... just make sure the memory sticks have the those same specs (at a minimum).  That's how I do it.  G.Skill also has a good compatibility list on their website.  Speaking for myself, I have used PCPartPicker and would trust them no problem.
