2 out of 5 eggsEh it's alright

Pros: Cheaper than most at the time of purchase.

Cons: I purchase this RAM about 4 months ago. Just completely went out on me while in the middle of an iPhone firmware update and totally bricked my phone. I do not run my Macbook Pro hard and so I expected to get maybe another + out of it.

Manufacturer Response:

.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid If you doing basic processing and decent for gaming

Pros: Good Speed for basic to moderate processing needs

Cons: If you're looking to beef up a gaming rig with this one. spend the extra money and get the faster 1600 for better frame rate

Other Thoughts: I bought these for use in my 2011 mac mini that has an i5 dual core 2.3 ghz processor but only came with 2 gigs of memory. I mainly use the computer for recording and editing music via a DAW such as Pro Tools which can be a memory hog when running multiple plug ins. i ran a test after installling these and the fps processing was at about 50-56 fps which was a major jump from what it was at first and now all my programs run like warm butter on flap-jacks. All in all I've had no issues and am very glad I went with the brand. A+

5 out of 5 eggsMac Mini Mid 2011 works Fine

Pros: Apple says it will only do a max of 8 gbs but this memory works fine at full 16GB. Probably more than I'll need but the price made my say so what. No issues so far!

Cons: None really.

2 out of 5 eggsBlack Screen of Death after a week of use

Pros: Made my late 2011 super fast!

Cons: Started to black screen of death every so often, then got to the point where I couldn't turn my computer on at all. Replaced that RAM with the old RAM and it booted up fine.

I ran Memtest on it before I removed it and it didn't get past 1% before it crashed the test.

Other Thoughts: Seems like great RAM... if it works.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Works great with my mid 2012 15" MacBook Pro (not retina)

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I've been running with this for several weeks with no problems whatsoever. The initial boot took somewhat longer than normal, presumably due to to memory testing, however subsequently boot time has been normal.

5 out of 5 eggsG-Skill impresses

Pros: Product works as advertised. Ran memtests throughout the day when I received and installed and had zero negative results. All tests passed. MBP verifies all 16GB and now handles memory-hogging apps with no issues.

Cons: Still upset about Neweggs free shipping method. Avoid it if you're under time-constraints.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure how to update my other review, but to be fair, this product deserves 5 "eggs" based on performance and quality. G-Skill has always been my choice of RAM and they've never failed to deliver quality products and quality customer service. Of all the computers I've built and owned, I've never had an issue with G-Skill RAM. I understand that sometimes parts arrive DOA and sometimes fail at some point, but what's important is how the manufacturer responds and G-Skill delivers on that end also.

1 out of 5 eggsSo far. . .

Pros: None so far

Cons: Free shipping is a bad choice these days, if you want something in a timely matter. Been sitting in a shipping center 10 minutes away from me for the last 5 days. Tried to add Rush Processing to my order only to be told it's too late, even though my screen says I'm still able to. Then tried to will call, and was refused. Newegg customer service is going south.

Other Thoughts: When I finally do get my parts, I'll update this review based on the performance of the product, but until then, very disappointed in Newegg these days.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear shipping is taking so long. Unfortunately, we can not help with that. Please contact NewEgg directly to express your concerns. They should be able to provide a status update and make things right. The memory should work extremely well with your Apple computer, so it will be worth the wait. Your patience is greatly appreciated. Should you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact us directly.
