4 out of 5 eggsWasn't able to overclock it

Pros: - Passed memtest86+ with 0 errors after a 8 hour overnight run. Can't ask for more reliability than that.
- Looks good
- heat sink feels sturdy
- its ram... it won't blow your mind

Cons: I wasn't able to overclock it to 2400. Although I suspect that might be a memory controller issue on my Intel 3820. If I try the XMP profiles my board won't post. If I do it manually it will, but my USB ports will go bananas as soon as windows loads. I'm not to bummed about it so I didn't take an egg off.

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you think the memory looks good and it is working well in your system. Based on our testing, most Intel i7-3820 CPUs are only capable of DDR3-2133 max. The Intel i7-3930K unlocked or Extreme X series CPU is necessary for guaranteed DDR3-2400. Don't worry, you can still achieve very good results. With a lower frequency such as DDR3-2133, you can lower timings and achieve similar performance to DDR3-2400. If you would like assistance with BIOS/EFI configuration, please don't hesitate to contact the G.Skill technical support team. They will make sure your computer operates at maximum peformance with G.Skill RAM.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsLooks and works great

Pros: Runs very nice in my CHVFZ board with an FX 4100 CPU. Heat sinks are very nice looking and match the Red and Black theme perfect. Seems to run stable @ 2133 for me ( see other thoughts ). I like it. If you have a 3rd gen i7 CPU it should be awesome. That's what it's made for.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I f you have an AMD FX CPU or lower it might not be for you, they are suppose to only handle 1866 memory but, as you can see I am running @ 2133 with no issues at all. You might be able to get it to run @ 2400 with the 8350 but just consider that 2133 is very fast for an AMD platform and 2400 is overkill anyhow. For the price this RAM is great @ 2133. It also looks killer. Not dissapointed at all.

5 out of 5 eggsSo fast

Pros: Extremely fast and looks great in my black and red themed case.

Cons: While putting it in my motherboad, i cut myself on the corner of the heat spreader, lol. Not really a con, but i thought it was funny cause its called trident.

Other Thoughts: I got it when it was 20 dollars cheaper, but it still worth buying.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Does what it says it can do.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Runs fine with my setup. Tried O/C or messing with the timings. Couldn't find anything really stable so it was left at 2400 10-12-12-31

5 out of 5 eggsGood memory

Pros: Good memory. Got it running at 2400 by enabling XMP in BIOS. Using this memory with Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H motherboard and Intel Core i5-3570k processor.

Cons: Not that I could think of.

Other Thoughts: I like the detachable fins option. I find myself not needing it though since I got the Thermalright True Spirit 120M heatsink. But is still good to see that it's removable.

5 out of 5 eggsworks with v pro

Pros: works well with asus p8z77 v pro motherboard and I5 3570k processor. Runs at 2400mhz using XMP profile 1 and 2.

Cons: zero.

Other Thoughts: tHIS memory DOES work with a 3570k processor at 2400mhz IF you use p8z77 v pro board.

Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is running great in your new extreme performance rig. That is definitely a perfect combination of hardware that will be much better than any pre-built computer on the market. The G.Skill Trident X series is the best memory money can buy. Not only are they top of the line memory, the price and value is unrivaled by any other brand. With regards to CAS Latency, it may be 'high' compared to DDR3-1600 RAM, but keep in mind timings need to go up along with frequency. The standard is DDR3-1600 CL11; for DDR3-2400, it should be CL17, so CL10 is as good as you will find for extreme frequency. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

4 out of 5 eggsGood But...

Pros: its fast and its memory

Cons: I could only get it to run at 2133 max. When set to 2400 it kept giving memory errors. Not worth being without a comp to Rma. Also 2133 is pretty fast.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is working fast in your computer. Reaching DDR3-2400 will depend on the CPU and motherboard used. Not all are capable of DDR3-2400, as this is an extreme frequency. High voltages are required to achieve this specification. DDR3-2133 can be just as good; by running a lower frequency, the timings can be lowered as well, and this can produce equally great results. Whether at a lower or higher frequency, the G.Skill Trident X series will produce outstanding results. It is the best memory on the market, so you can rest assured it will outperform them all. For any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.
