5 out of 5 eggsSmooth, Sleek, and fast.

Pros: - Looks nice
- Works as advertised (See 'other thoughts' section for more details.)
- Fast
- Practically everything

Cons: Sadly, DDR3 RAM, no matter the speed, is nearly outdated with the coming of DDR4 and the very limited reverse compatibility between motherboards and processors. I purchased this RAM, and it's had no trouble, but I'm needing to upgrade my processor to Skylake, and in turn motherboard, and RAM as well.

Other Thoughts: My motherboard is not compatible with the full speed of this RAM. I could get it to run a maximum of 1866Mhz. This is not a problem with the RAM, however. Just an oversight on my part. Be sure to make sure your motherboard is compatible with whatever you buy!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks first time with Z97 board.

Pros: The things were recognized immediately (after enabling XMP in Bios) and run at the spec'd 2400. Memtest gave no failure points.

Cons: Okay, the Cas Latency 11 reveals this product is not at top of 2400 product line up. However, if you are using a discrete GPU, do you even care? And, if your NOT using a discrete GPU, do you still care? Hey, its 16 Gb for darn cheap, and works. Got a few bucks off post Christmas.

Other Thoughts: Memory cost is at a 2 - 3 low! I built two computers and put this memory in both during the Holidays 2015. And I would suggest many folks should consider a memory upgrade at this time. Yes, its DDR3 and that won't work for your next computer (If its DDR4) but my computers are 5 year builds and who cares after that.

Reliability is a huge deal, and I will update should turds occur. But you know what? Lifetime warranty.

3 out of 5 eggsWorked most of the time - but intermittent crashes

Pros: Cheaper - fast - good form factor

Cons: At default clock speeds, was causing windows to crash on idle and while gaming.

Other Thoughts: Did not isolate if 1 bad stick or 2, RMA'd.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Shane

We are sorry to hear a module is not working properly. Before send it in for RMA exchange and a replacement, please kindly update the latest version of motherboard BIOS, enable XMP profile and try again, it should work much better. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsAll better now

Pros: This is a follow up to my previous negative review - I had two ram boards and one was defective. Well, Gskill let me RMA the board and the new replacement board works great. Now my work PC rocks as it should with 16G of ram in two boards.

Cons: None here

Other Thoughts: I've bought a lot of equipment over the years and some times it's just bad luck when you get something defective. I am very satisfied with Gskill service and will purchase more of their products in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat performance, Great price

Pros: Really high end performance for the price. Also overclocked with ease.

Cons: The heatsinks are a little flimsy. They look solid in the pictures, they aren't terrible hence 5 stars but they aren't nearly as sturdy as they look.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected.

Pros: Works as expected at 2400Mhz with the correct timings once set in the UEFI setup.

Cons: None, really. It's not 32GBs of RAM?

Other Thoughts: Some things in Windows report it as running at 1600Mhz, but test results and CPUID prove otherwise.

5 out of 5 eggsNice clock speed and timings at a nice price

Pros: See the review title. It works, and passes some intensive stability checks at stock settings.

Cons: 1.65 V stock voltage is quite a bit for DDR3. I was hoping to try running it at 1.5 V and lower clock speeds, but my motherboard wouldn't cooperate.

Other Thoughts: I had some system stability problems that I tracked down to memory errors until I flashed the BIOS, which let the motherboard auto-detect the proper memory settings. Since then, it has worked fine.

3 out of 5 eggsOne good, one bad

Pros: price is right

Cons: Maybe this will help other folks. I dual boot windows 7 and linux mint. I used a Fatality killer Z97 board for a new build. I could not attach files to gmail. I chased this for about a month off and on. The internet was also buggy, so much so that I put a lan card on the motherboard, to no avail. Well, it was a bad memory board that did all that. I swapped each board out and on the second swap everything worked smoothly. I am RMAing one board. What a suckfest.

Other Thoughts: Why oh why didn't I buy corsair...

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you had such issues. This is a high performance memory kit so please make sure to configure settings in BIOS/UEFI. Without doing so, it is possible for the RAM to corrupt/error over time. Also, not all motherboards and CPUs are capable of DDR3-2400. Since a module appears to be not working correctly, please send it in for RMA exchange and a replacement should work much better. Once you receive the new RAM and input the proper settings, the system should be fast and smooth. For any further questions, or if you require any assistance, please feel free to let us know. We will make sure G.Skill RAM is operating at maximum performance in your computer.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine, hassle free.

Pros: High end memory at a standard tier price.
CAS11@2400 > CAS10@2133

Here is the equation for figuring out actual latency and not just the CAS rating...

(CL Divided by Ghz)

2400@CL10 - 10 / 1.2 = 8.33ns
2133@CL9 - 1.066 = 8.44ns
2400@CL11 - 11 / 1.2 = 9.16ns <-- This kit
2133@CL10 - 10 / 1.066 = 9.38ns
2133@CL11 - 11 / 1.066 = 10.31ns

That said, while sure, CAS10@2400 would have been better it would have also costed me about 60$ more for this 32gb kit which I got on sale 20$ off.

As for 2133@CL9, it might be faster than this kit in some workloads it is also much more expensive, it also has less peak throughput so while more expensive it's also slower in some (most) workloads.

I should mention, I have an i7 4770k and at the end of the day RAM timings are not a huge deal for a Haswell system with a discrete GPU. The thing about this kit was while it was on sale here on Newegg it was the 3rd most least expensive kit on PcPartPicker, only 3$ more than the cheapest 1600Mhz kit and for that price I couldn't justify NOT getting the better memory.

I have all 4 of my motherboard slots full of this stuff, 32gb, and to install it all I did was turn my old ram down to it's lowest timings, shutdown, replace it with this, power on, enable XMP timings, reboot, and I was done.

I haven't ran any memory tests but I've been doing some pretty heavy workloads (compiling huge projects, photogrammetry, loading the entire UE4 Kite Demo, running multiple VMs) and my system has been rock solid stable.

Oh, I should add, I have a z87-a motherboard and Hyper212 Evo which is another reason I like these modules. I had to remove the fan from the heatsink to install the first stick, but once on it fit under it just fine.

Cons: None I can think of, one of the best kits for the money.

Other Thoughts: Newegg's 3 day shipping was on time.
