5 out of 5 eggsG. Skill all the way!

Pros: After almost two years this kit is still as reliable as it was on the day it was purchased. XMP profile set it to 2400MHz on day one and it still as strong as ever at that frequency... I've had problems with other manufacturer kits not running at the speed advertised. G. Skill seems to never disappoint in this regard.

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Very stable with my ASRock Z97 Mobo. Haven't tried overclocking but there's no need for it at this time.

Cons: Works fine, no cons

Other Thoughts: Could be cheaper but then again the memory market is volatile so who know what next week will bring.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear the memory is very stable with your AsRock Z97 motherboard. The Intel Z97 chipset is designed for high frequency and overclocking, so DDR3-2400 is the ideal RAM. With a capable CPU, enable XMP Profile and the system will run at full speed. If you prefer not to use the RAM at full speed, it is also capable of lower values such as DDR3-1866 and 2133. The RAM is very flexible and can be utilized based on your target. With 16GB installed, you should never experience any lag or delays due to low available physical memory. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsSpeed

Pros: Hard to beat the performance/price of these
Low profile was great since my cooler's tubing runs right over them
Will eventually buy another kit for 32Gb total RAM
No frustration packaging was nice

Cons: Eh, there aren't any.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks right out of the Package

Pros: - runs at 2400 MT/s using XMP
- low profile - fits under my Heatsink/Fan combo without problems
- relatively inexpensive
- reliable (so far)

Cons: - from what I've read not much headroom for OC beyond the rated 2400 XMP
- high-ish latency
- this particular speed comes in only one color
- runs at 1.65v (maybe an issue for folks running pre-Haswell CPUs and pre-Z97 chipset?)

Other Thoughts: Purchased for use with a GA-Z97X-UD7-TH board running a Core i7 4790K (Haswell) processor. Purchased a single pair of 16GB sticks. Set the memory in UEFI/BIOS to run using the XMP and after a reboot I was running at 2400 MT/s. I use Premiere Pro and After Effects heavily and managed a couple of overnight renders and exports without any problems. Recently purchased another 16GB set to bring up system RAM to 32GB. Plug and play without a hitch.

After reading previous users experiences with this RAM I was a little worried about the higher voltage (1.65V). But since this stick or the sniper version is cleared on Intel's XMP list here: (http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/gaming/xmp-for-core-processors.html) I don't think there's an issue. I've used the RAM for close to 3 months of almost daily use with Adobe CC I have no complaints.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you were able to set up the RAM properly to run at maximum performance. This is an ideal memory kit for the latest Z97 chip set, but it can be used in older platforms as well. 1.65V is the enthusiast voltage limit so any CPU can handle it without a problem. The CL11 latency is the same as the standard for DDR3-1600, so it is actually considered fairly low considering 50% higher frequency. With the latest processors, a higher frequency will improve the overall performance more than low timings. You can test this by attempting a lower frequency with lower timings. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

1 out of 5 eggs4 sticks do not work

Pros: None I cannot recommend this memory.

Cons: 4 sticks on 2 different motherboards with manual timings set and speed set to 2400 MHz. Either will not boot or revert to 1333 MHz. I have had so many crashes and weird issues I was attributing to my motherboard that I replaced it. When I loaded the GSkill memory into the new motherboard it would not boot at all. I could only get it to boot with 16 GB of ram, and it crashed constantly at that. This stuff is awful.

Other Thoughts: After spending 40 days tracking down issues I attributed to a bad motherboard and or bad video card it turns out the memory was garbage. Going to go back to brands I can trust.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you had such issues. This is an extreme performance memory kit that may not be supported by all motherboards and processors. Only select few CPUs are capable of DDR3-2400. In addition, it does require manual BIOS configuration for the system to be stable. This is not plug and play RAM. When having stability problems, always make sure you have the latest BIOS. In the future, please don't hesitate to contact the G.Skill technical support team directly for assistance. We can help determine whether your system is capable, and if it is , we will make sure your computer is operating at maximum performance. The RAM is guanrateed at the rated specifications, so we can prove that it is as advertised.

4 out of 5 eggsSPD is at 1333.

Pros: - Capacity.
- Price.
- 2400.

Cons: - SPD is at 1333, so it defaults to that. This should be atleast 1600.
- Manufacturers should publish the SPD, XMP or AMP data. Most OEM mainboards have no RAM controls in BIOS/UEFI.

Other Thoughts: Works at 1600@1.5V on my mainboard. Haven't tweaked yet, and likely won't get time for it, so I'll leave it at that.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Glad to hear you got a good price on the RAM and it is working well in your system. SPD is set to DDR3-1333 as not all motherboards and CPUs can support DDR3-1600. The purpose of SPD is to allow the RAM to be compatible in any DDR3 computer. To utilize performance values, you can manually input settings or enable the XMP Profile. For OEM motherboards that do not have the ability to adjust BIOS/UEFI settings, then it is best to use standard plug and play RAM. This memory kit is extreme speed and capacity, so it is designed for the computer builder looking for processing power.

With a higher performance kit like this, you can set the RAM to DDR3-1600 with lower timings like 8-8-8-24 1.60V if you choose not to run the RAM at full speed. Should you need any help or have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly.

3 out of 5 eggsOne stick failed

Pros: It's decent memory. Not much more to say

Cons: One of my sticks of memory failed after less than 72 hours. Had to get it replaced.

Other Thoughts: Will update review when replacement comes in and lasts longer.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We can take care of any issues right away. This is a high performance memory kit, so make sure to configure settings in BIOS/EFI. Manually input DRAM frequency, timings, and voltage; or if the motherboards supports XMP/DOCP, and the CPU is capable of DDR3-2400, make sure the profile is enabled. Without the proper configuration, it is possible for the RAM to error and corrupt over time. With 16GB installed, the computer should be very fast and smooth under any circumstance. Visit the G.Skill website for complete RMA procedure. For help with set up or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM

Pros: This is Fast, Snappy RAM!!! Installed in seconds on my Asus M5A99FX Pro R.2.0 With a FX 8350 CPU. Alll 16 GB's are recognized and I can now allocate some RAM to my Samsung 850 EVO ssd (To use Rapid Mode) and still have plenty of RAM left over.

Cons: None at all

Other Thoughts: I've been using it now for a few months and have had no problems whatsoever. With RAM this cheap (about $98 for 16GB) I figured I might as well be ready for Windows 10. Also, this is low profile and good looking Blue color if you care about those things.
