Question 1

This is listed as Trident X and the images show the gold/yellow heat spreader.  G.Skill does not list a DDR4 version of Trident X.  Rather the DDR4 Trident variant is Trident Z.  Can anyone confirm for me whether the listed image and product name are accurate?  I am putting together a black/gold build, and these would look great in it, but I am nervous that the listing is incorrect in some manner.

The listed image and product name are accurate.  It is DDR4 and it is gold.  I would add a picture or a link but neither are allowed.  After researching last year and having similar questions it seemed as if this memory was geared towards x99 motherboards but they of course would work on the z170 Skylake boards.  I built a Haswell-E build in the last 4 months and used this RAM and I am quite happy with it.

Question 2

So this only works with INTEL?? and no AMD.

These can work for both AMD and INTEL. These are advertised for X99 platform because of the 2800 speed that is optimized standard for X99 where 2666 is standard for AMD Ryzen and 8th gen Intel. I used these with an i7 8700K (non-X99) worked great!

Can the heatsinks be compatibel with DDR3 kits? I'd love to have my DDR3 2400 red ones in yellow & silver colours!

If you mean taking off the heatsinks and applying new ones? It can be done if you are careful, though, I don't recommend it.
