4 out of 5 eggsRecommend, but caution (other thoughts)

Pros: Fast, looks cool in my case

Cons: My motherboard (Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0) did not initially set these to their advertised speed, and instead choose to run them at 1333MHz. The heatsinks are more flimsy than they appear, but I do not believe this is of much concern.

Other Thoughts: These may require some tuning in the bios to run at their advertised speeds. I chose these to go with a gaming rig which was also the first PC I had ever built myself, and I was frustrated that these did not default to 1866MHz. This was, however, easily fixed after exploring the bios as it turns out they have a saved XMP profile with all the settings ready to go. Before I found that, I failed several times when I tried to set the speeds myself. It was a frustrating experience, but I am now pleased with how they are running.

In the end, I feel that these are a great choice for RAM and I would recommend them, but you may have to fiddle around in the BIOS to get them to run at advertised speeds.

5 out of 5 eggsVengeance is RIGHT!!!

Pros: Absolutely good RAM by a well known name in the industry!! Sharp looking & blazing fast!!

Switched out the 1600 & threw 16GB of these bad boys in. No problems at all booting into the BIOS.

As other people have said, they defaulted to 1333, which is what I believe my board does as a default "fail-safe" setting, when it recognizes new RAM. The same exact thing happened when I installed the 1600 RAM.

After making a few, fairly minor, adjustments in my BIOS, I was able to change the RAM from the 1333 setting & overclocked the sticks to 1866.

This was only possible because my Mobo, northbridge, & CPU are "ALL" capable of running "stable at this frequency.

That's something that some of you others having issues getting the sticks to OC without getting the BSOD, might want to double check. Just a thought :)

Thank you Newegg & Corsair!!
You helped me fix my "Bottle Neck" ;)
Now I'm going to need some liquid cooling :)

Cons: None that I can think of, other than YOUR machine probably can't handle this RAM :)

Other Thoughts: Current System Build:
Asus Sabertooth 990FX
AMD FX8150 8 core CPU (optimized at 3.9+GHz)
Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 1866
OCZ Vertex4 128GB SSD

2 out of 5 eggsDo not recommend

Pros: Decent price, good looks.

Cons: Where to start... This RAM was listed specifically by AMD as compatible at 1866 speeds for my motherboard and CPU setup, and Corsair claims the compatibility chart I got from AMD is "Just a reference tool" and doesn't really mean anything" And the fact that even though it's supposed to be compatible with "all" AMD systems, it "Was designed for Intel systems to run at the rated speed".

My biggest complaint is that they are not even compatible with themselves as "We cannot guarantee compatibility with two separate kits, even if they have the same part number"

Then they try to blame my CPU manufacturer: "you're using a Bulldozer CPU from AMD. They are very limited in memory headroom" and say that overclocking makes it even worse, ignoring the fact that I'm not overclocking...

Bottom line, I doubt I'll ever buy from Corsair again

Other Thoughts: Though several people mentioned the heatspreaders easily falling apart, I found them to be fine, they didn't break or come loose.

2 out of 5 eggsCrashes Computer

Pros: Not too expensive, looks cool

Cons: Must have a bad stick or both maybe, haven't fully tested them, however they periodically produce the BSOD. Switched them out of one machine into another one, and now they crash the new machine.

Other Thoughts: Think I'll stick to what I know. The G-Skill 9-9-9-24 I've used a lot before has never been an issue. I'm assuming this one is a bad stick of RAM. Think I'll do more testing

5 out of 5 eggsGood sticks

Pros: Installed two of these plus two matching red modules in my MVF to match the ROG theme. Easy speed setting in the BIOS. Never had a problem with Corsair memory and my better half has the blue modules in her build going on 15 months.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Quality shows.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh so far

Pros: Price
looks
Lower voltage (Not that I really care about that)

Cons: Can't run at advertized speeds

Other Thoughts: I bought this RAM because Gigabyte specifically listed these as the only compatible 1866 memory for my motherboard, yet it absolutely REFUSES to boot past 1600. (And yes, I checked all settings from Corsairs website) Currently waiting for reply from Corsair support staff.

1 out of 5 eggsOne Bad Stick

Pros: One of the two sticks was okay.

Cons: One of the sticks was dead. A memtest86 ran for 11 hours (8 passes) and didn't hit any failures. After not being able to find any solution to the BSODs I was getting, I tested each stick on its own and found that one was bad.

3 out of 5 eggsit's the nature of manufacturing

Pros: Newegg honored the warranty

Cons: the ram was defective and newegg had to RMA it.

Other Thoughts: first set of ram I have had delivered that was defective. Not newegg's fault. manufacturing typically has defective parts that somehow get through quality control. just happened to hit the jackpot on this one.
