5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy!

Pros: This RAM is solid. It has worked flawlessly from day 1. No heat problems, standard 1.5V so no worries about support or adjusting setting on your motherboard. Obviously there is faster RAM on the market but this stuff is great for the price. It handles all of my needs and I'm a heavy gamer and I tend to run a lot of things at the same time, never a problem.

Cons: None that I have found.

Other Thoughts: Wait for this to go on sale. It does on and off, picked mine up for $89.99.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great, but why isn't the price dropping?

Pros: I bought this in November 2011. It's been working great for me ever since, with one exception (see cons).

Cons: After more than a year of use, one of the sticks failed. I started getting really weird error messages, and when I ran memtest86, it showed failed RAM. I isolated the problem to one of the four sticks, removed the faulty stick and a working stick from the companion slot, and I was back up and running right away with 8GB of ram. I initiated a warranty replacement with corsair, and they shipped me a replacement set of all four sticks, and then I sent the set with the defective set back to them.

Total downtime was about an hour while I troubleshot the problem, then 2-3 days running on 8GB of ram. That's pretty darn good for a RAM failure, so I'm not deducting an egg.

Other Thoughts: In November 2011, I paid $89 for this on a shell shocker special. I don't remember for sure what the regular price was back then, but I think it was close to $150. 20 months later, it's selling for $149. I guess I got a better deal than I thought, because I would have expected the price to have dropped considerably almost two years later.

It doesn't show me as a "verified owner" because I bought this under a different account. Someone hacked into that account, tried and failed to order a gift card with my credit card, and newegg locked the account permanently. No amount of pleading with customer service or escalation to higher levels made any difference.

1 out of 5 eggsWasted Money

Pros: One Stick worked. (4gigs)

Cons: I am really disappointed with Corsair. I really wanted to have 16gigs. Ever since I bought them my computer was constantly blue screening and I replaced every hd, dvdrom, video card, updated bios, etc.. I finally called MSI and they told me to take out the memory and run one stick and its never crashed since then so wasted money on having 16gigs and I only use one of them now.

Other Thoughts: Probably never purchase a corsair ever again. because I was only able to use one stick im giving this item 1 egg.

5 out of 5 eggsNice memory, good speed for the money.

Pros: Good speed (not the best), nice price, low latency and heat.

Cons: Not the fastest memory but cant beat it for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair RAM Does It Again

Pros: Fast, reliable memory that posts correctly on the first try and, a full year later, behaves like the first day I powered it on! I have had good experiences with GSkill and OCZ as well but I tend toward Corsair since they have literally never failed me whether I am using their PSUs, Ram or even SSDs. If you can, always guy Corsair.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent RAM at an Excellent Price

Pros: Unshakably stable at 1600MHz, stays solid as you approach 1800MHz. The heat sinks aren't tall and silly, so they fit nicely in a crowded case or under a huge CPU heatsink. The muted black styling should look great in any open-case build or build with a window. I am a very loyal proponent of Corsair for high-end applications, having used their products in my own equipment and hundreds of customers'. I have yet to be let down.

Cons: The compromise here versus Corsiar's Dominator, etc. memory is the timing. The timing settings are pretty loose compared to some more expensive sticks and will obviously impact throughput slightly. To be sure, this compromise is only measurable via benchmark; I'll bet all the beer in Texas that NO ONE can tell the difference between these and similarly clocked RAM with tighter timings just from the seat of their pants by using the machine.

Other Thoughts: Unless you have an unlimited budget, this is probably the best performance you are going to get for your money.

I have used this kit in my desktop (with an FX-8150 and Corsair Performance Pro SSD) and in a few customer machines, as well as the 8GB kit in my faux-server. Get them. They won't let you down.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this RAM

Pros: * Very stable and quick RAM.
* Corsair reliability.
* 1.5v, works with most motherboards.
* Not overly tall so it doesn't interfere with most heatsinks.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Slapped this in a Gigabyte micro-ATX motherboard without any problems. I put all 16GB in a HTPC with limited airflow, and it has been running flawlessly for over a year. Even installed a lower-profile heatsink and this RAM still doesn't hit the heatsink (although it's very close.)

Excellent RAM for the price. I've put these in my own systems as well as those of my clients. I did have one bad stick and Corsair very quickly swapped the whole matched set out with another. Other than that initial issue with 1 stick out of dozens, I haven't had any problems at all.

5 out of 5 eggsI love the XMS3!!!

Pros: -Very good timings with a nice low voltage :)
-Works as advertised perfectly
-Low profile. this is a ++ so I could fit in my CM Hyper 212 cooler. Most motherboards don't properly gap the CPU from the DIMM slots :\
-Nice accents
-It's Corsair. I would never deviate from such a good brand! (I also use their power supplies religiously)

Cons: -nothing else works as good as Corsair. :(

Other Thoughts: I don't usually have issues with RAM as I have used multiple brands over time. OCZ made me realize that RAM can in fact be excruciatingly painful. I came crawling back to Corsair bloody and broken. Corsair scooped me up, wiped my tears and told me it was all going to be ok. I feel fuzzy and warm knowing that Corsair is there for me!

1 out of 5 eggsanother set of corsair with a stick of bad ram

Pros: i just dont know anymore

Cons: bought these to replace the corsair vengence i bought 6 month ago that had a failing ram stick.. replace all 4 stick since i like to run all identical sticks. after 8 days one of these ram stick failed in memtest86+ was having all sort of problem boot window into bsod. surfing web and bsod. watching utube bsod. ran memtest and pulled each ram and test which is bad and pull it out. fix problem. piad for 16 gb and only have 12 gb of working ram.

Other Thoughts: not gonna buy anymore ram or anything corsair make, tho i do love there h100 liquid cooling solution and that is about it

Manufacturer Response:
