5 out of 5 eggsWorks as intended (Stock speeds)

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10R

Pros: Product arrived working with no damage, no errors or boot issues and the bios instantly recognized both modules
Ram runs at advertised speeds and 10-10-10-27 timings
Installed easy, no issue with them getting in the way of other components on my setup
Heat spreaders fit the black and red motherboard theme nicely. Spreaders felt substantial and of good build quality
One month of use (gaming, internet) and no errors I can trace back to ram issues.

Cons: Tall heat spreaders. May be an issue for some.

Other Thoughts: Purchased to upgrade an old hand-me-down machine running an EVGA P55 SLI, i5-660 and a GTX 780.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA Memory bad out of the box

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10R

Pros: Decent price, nice heat spreader, cool looking.

Cons: Doesnt work, Multiple BSOD issues, Did a memory test it failed on all test. Worst part, i'm a Premier Member with Newegg. I actually paid for this additional service out of pocket. Newegg sends me junky ram i have to pay the shipping back. How much sense does that make? Other vendors i deal with that have the same membership type as premier send me a ups return tag. Good way to lose loyal customers...

Other Thoughts: I understand nothing is perfect. But when you a buy a product with a prominent brand like Corsair you expect quality not junk in a box. So now my customer goes with out his pc until a replacement arrives and I have to pay for return shipping on a junky set of ram sticks. Not good business.

Pros: The RAM works as expected, the heatspreader material feels good, I have had this in my build for more than 3 months and It's working great so far.
The price is pretty good too.
Overall, I think this is a great RAM kit.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsWorking great for three years

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10R

Pros: Inexpensive, VERY reliable, no issues AT ALL for three years.

Cons: Three years ago, it was $2 cheaper than today's price. But that's how things go.

Other Thoughts: Running in an EVGA FTW Z68 board, no overclocking or overvoltage, everything stock. Never gave these as second thought after installation and running memtest for a couple of days to make sure everything was OK. I am tempted to get another 16gb before the product is discontinued, but with everything going to DDR4, not being able to move them to the next build is an issue...

5 out of 5 eggsgood

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10R

Pros: Works great in my Dell inspiron 3847. Replaced the Dell 8GB ram I had. Heat spreaders make it look cool. I was worried that it would not work. Spent a lot of time looking for ram that I thought would work in my system.

Cons: I don't see a speed difference they look to be about the same

Other Thoughts: works great nice price

5 out of 5 eggsNewEgg saved the day!

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10R

Pros: I am sure this ram was fine but was not compatible with my mother board. The compatibility chart from ASUS was 5 years old and had never been updated. Useless. They did not show anything over 4 GB working with it.
I RMAed it with new egg and purchased a different CORSAIR model and all is well. Will pick up another 16GB in a few months.

Thanks New Egg!

3 out of 5 eggsProbably Good Ram, Just got a bad stick

This review is from: CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10R

Pros: Only giving this three stars because one of the sticks when inserted in my system caused blue screens in Win 8.1 (BAD_POOL_HEADER, BAD_POOL_CALLER, MEMORY MANAGEMENT)

I'm running a Core i5 2500 on an ASRock Z77Extreme4 Motherboard.

Just in case one of my DIMM slots was bad I tried moving the set to DIMM1 and DIMM3 (as opposed to DIMM0 and DIMM2) and I still got the same errors. When I run on just one single 8 GB all was fine.

There was still the possibility that one entire bank of DIMMs was bad (DIMM2, DIMM3) so I decided to run both sticks in single channel in DIMM0 and DIMM1 and I still got blue screens. Blue screens would generally manifest during anything RAM to disk intensive: But could not get through Windows Update until I removed the bad stick.

Although--The system did survive several hours on Prime95... Didn't bother with Memtest86 though.

Cons: As stated, one of the sticks was defective.

Other Thoughts: Still gave 3 eggs because it's probably good RAM I just unfortunately was the statistical outlier that got a bad stick--Had to happen to someone.

Ordered another 16GB kit from another manufacturer so that I can finish off this system and button it up. Hoping RMA process with Corsair is smooth, will put the replacement 16GB Corsair in my HTPC/DVR/Gaming Console system when it comes in : )
