Is SATA III compatable with any, or older SATA motherboard?

Yes, but the bandwidth and transfer speeds will be only as fast as the SATA version your motherboard can support. This is true for any SATA device, be it SSD or traditional hard drive. So this drive will work on an older SATA II or SATA I motherboard, but just slower. The formatted capacity will remain the same (dependent on OS though) regardless of which SATA version is utilized.

will it work in an external usb 3.0 enclosure with windows 7?

Yes. Make sure the enclosure is SATA III (6.0 Gbps) and USB 3.0 compatible. Using a SATA II (3.0 Gbps) or USB 2.0 external enclosure will still work but will bottleneck your performance significantly.

what is speed of this device? is device faster than intel 520?

I don't have any experience with the intel ssd but I got this corsair one a few weeks ago and ATTO reports speeds of 560 read, which is the reported speed. Mines already full and it still boots in under ten seconds
