4 out of 5 eggsReply to HyperionXL

Pros: Kind sir,

This is a quad channel kit, if you are trying to run all 4 sticks in an 1155/1156 system or AMD system, it WILL NOT be able to run at those timing settings, they would need to run looser timings due to the double population per channel, if you are running this in a 2011 system which I doubt since you are using the avexir 8gb kit presently (2x4gb) then the ram is bad. But don't knock the ram for using it in a system that it wasn't spec'ed for.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Wish people would read the descriptions of the products before ordering things.

2 out of 5 eggsWhere is Quality Control?

Pros: Looks pretty. When it isn't throwing blue screens at you, it blows everything out of the water.

I was able to stream on Twitch at 4 times the FPS I normally would (With 8GB of 1866 sticks) in Minecraft with xSplit. I could actually stream other games I couldn't before because of xSplits rampant use of memory to encode.

Photoshop was snappier than ever.

Video encoding was atleast 10-20% faster than normal.

Cons: After not being able to even run one full cycle of Prime95 with stock CPU settings and the box specs of the RAM, I decided to run memtest.

2 sticks showed errors within minutes of testing.

Other Thoughts: I didn't spend $600 and sit through 2 hours of Bangkok traffic (NewEgg won't deliver out here) to get what I though was going to be top notch ram only to have half of it poop out on me and not even be able to run at what is specced. I would think for the amount of money I'm throwing at Corsair, some more thorough quality checks would be in place. At least an hour of memtest or something! All I needed was 5 minutes and I already had around 10 errors.

Now I'm stuck waiting in the RMA process for another 2 weeks, possibly longer, because you know - Thailand.

The store I purchased from was nice enough to loan me Avexir's 8GB 2800 kit while I wait. To add insult to injury, 3 minutes into memtest with this new kit and I had over 500 errors. Well... at least Corsair has a head up there.

5 out of 5 eggsTried out my friend's on my system

Pros: Pretty.

Cons: Expensive.

Other Thoughts: Duuude.

Got to try this exact set on my motherboard. Blew away my "Team extreme 8Gb" sticks. Loading any game I had was INSTANT@ANY MOMENT ANYTHING WAS "loading."
One week I had these
Very very nice looking... They feel very solid and smooth on your hands.
