1 out of 5 eggsProduct Defect Should Be Recalled

Pros: None

Cons: Purchase this product due to the brand name recognition. So I trusted. But found out all this time my PC issues were because of defective memory. Purchase this brand due to name quality recognition for over $300 for business needs. Many people are complaining about this model and who have similar problems. Would like help resolving it so I can do my work without blue screens and freeze ups.

Other Thoughts: Manufacture should recall this model.

5 out of 5 eggsFine for me

Pros: Wow, I must be lucky. I ordered these up on Nov 15 2012, installed and setup with the xmp-1866 profile. Works perfectly for me. Not one issue with heavy usage running VMs, Visual Studio and Eclipse.

Cons: not a one!

Other Thoughts: Owned for 5 months now with ZERO issues. This is the computer that I use day in and day out (12+ hours a day) doing development with visual studio and eclipse. Running tests with Virtual Machines (7, 8, xp, 2k8) and SQL server 2k8. If this memory was bad, I'd have had issues by now.

Intel i5-2500k, msi p67a-gd65, this 32gb kit, xfx hd6850, PNY 128gb ssd, backed with gobs of spinning platters in my NAS.

1 out of 5 eggsJust like the others....

Pros: Cool looking heat sink

Cons: Installed in five systems, all systems are failing. Causing blue screens, freezing apps, app terminations by windows, and file corruptions.

Other Thoughts: Bought 5 sets of these for corporate workstation computers. All 5 computers are experiencing problems of varying degrees. Some systems lock up on boot, others constantly freezing applications. I have built over 100 computers over the years using Corsair memory and never had a bad stick. There is a seriously big flaw in this batch of memory.

Thank you for the shallow and canned response that get copy-pasted whenever somebody leaves an unfavorable review in attempt to make it look like to other prospective buyers that it's always an uncommon problem and they always give an above-and-beyond white-glove response when things go awry. First off, I tried contacting corsair first and always got a recorded message or voice-mail. This was all times of the day, all days of the week and never once was a message returned, so yes, I'm sure they would be "happy to help troubleshoot". Next off, since nobody ever *ever* answered, I took a fair amount of time testing the memory in different configurations and boards to be absolutely sure that it was the RAM that was faulty and not another component. And lastly, I'm sure anybody who's done RMAs with the manufacture know that it's the ultimate last resort and you might as well just buy a new one right then and if you ever get a working product back weeks later that's not a refurb covered in fingerprints or repaired, consider it a bonus.

The RMA I sent back to Newegg? Why do I have the sneaky suspicion that this will eventually get sent back to Corsair who will put the sticks in a little test machine for 5 seconds to have a little green light come on to say it's good RAM instead of running MEMTEST for several hours when the problem will likely show (because nobody has time for that), then slap on a different sticker or reduce the timing and send it off to another person who did an RMA or pawn it off as a "refurb". At least they won't have memory with fingerprints all over it because I know how to handle RAM properly.

This isn't just a stab at Corsair as a company. I've gotten RAM from them issue free over the past 10 years, but likely a stab at all the companies in general here that insult our intelligence with their PR canned responses here on Newegg of which patronize us with lies. (Let's throw in a typo to make it look authentic!).

Please excuse the rant, but this kind of thing angers me and I had to call them out on it, especially when it's all lies and there's no real way to leave a rebuttal to this kind of thing here.

1 out of 5 eggsBroken

Pros: None currently.

Cons: Currently working on RMA'ing my RMA'ed set.

At least the RMA set seems better. Only 2/4 seems bad. Original set had 4/4 bad. Originally thought other components were the issue. Tested motherboard with a different CPU/PSU and still had issues. Ram has issues on different working setups.

I know this is a value RAM but wasted way too much time.

Other Thoughts: I would avoid this set. Usually love Cosair but not impressed by this product.

1 out of 5 eggsFollow up

Pros: Not with this set, sorry.

Cons: 2/4 sticks pass Memtest86+ memory test at a default frequency of 1333mhz
None will pass Memtest86+ at specified 1866-9-10-9-27 frequency/timings.
None will pass Memtest86+ unless tested individually.

Other Thoughts: At first, I wasn't sure if the memory was bad or some settings or other hardware was to blame. I tested the RAM in a couple different boards and none would pass. 2 of the sticks will however run at 1333 timing stable for a couple days but I bought 32GB, not 16. I'm not sure if I will go with another brand or not. I've used Corsair RAM for over 10 years and they've been perfect. Hopefully this was just bad luck/bad batch.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: Worked for 5 minutes.

Cons: Constant Page Faults and BSODs regardless of BIOS tweaking.

Other Thoughts: I cannot believe so many people are having this issue with this RAM. It is absolutely uncalled for, for a company of this stature to release memory in this state on such a large scale. It shows a severe lack of quality control. Shame on you corsair!

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Looks nice

Cons: Fails MEMTEST86+,
This product is defective,
I see numerous complaints on it,
Disappointed - thought CORSAIR had quality,
Ran it at 1333 and 1866 still gets numerous errors in mEMTEST86+,
Try another product

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed with Corsair

Pros: Price/GB, nice design

Cons: Memory defective from factory. Look like everyone is having problems with this model line.

Other Thoughts: Was a loyal Corsair customer until this. When I bought this memory there was only one review and it was positive. One week later, I put my new PC together and the problems started. The motherboard first detected the memory as 1333MHz not 1866MHz even though the voltage and the latency was correct. I had a difficult time installing anything onto the PC. After a few test it came back as the memory being defective. Had the memory RMA'd. Going to a different brand. :(
