4 out of 5 eggsStill Going After a year

Pros: Still working great after a few years. Had a couple times where I had boot issues and had to do a boot repair and one of those times it found bad sectors.

Cons: Not flawless, but not bad either

1 out of 5 eggsOnly lasted 10 months

Pros: Fast.... When it worked...

Cons: This drive only lasted 10 months before throwing out SMART errors, and causing system reboots. Had to pay to RMA it to Corsair, and am now stuck waiting for their customer service to get around to dealing with my claim. Been eight days now since they received the failed unit and they won't even respond to my ticket. After this, I think I'm done with Corsair.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed in about a year

Pros: Fast

Cons: Unreliable, premature failure.

Other Thoughts: After using both OCZ and Samsung SSD's for customers to install as the Windows boot drive, I was happy with SSD performance and reliability. So I decided to try the Corsair line as I like other Corsair products. So this one began locking up the computer. It wouldn't lock it up like a crash, but it would be doing very little, the system would freeze for a minute or so, then go on working. This kept happening randomly. So I imaged this drive over to a standard Seagate hard drive, installed it in the system, reconfigured Win7 so it knew there was no longer an SSD there, and since then (month ago) this system is running great with no more lockups. Stay away from Corsair SSD's, I will not buy again.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Drive So Far

Pros: This was a great upgrade for me. I was previously using a Kingston 64GB SSD and couldn't even install Windows 7 for fear of not being able to fit everything else I wanted due to the large size of the operating system. That isn't a problem now. It's nice to have both speed and lots of extra space so I don't have to worry about whether I have enough room for whatever I want to save.

The drive itself is noticeably faster, although I only have an SATA II motherboard and thus can't take full advantage of its abilities. Shredding files takes almost no time at all, and the same when copying files. The 5 year warranty definitely makes this a good choice.

Cons: Not much of a con, but it sometimes makes a bit of noise, while I thought it was supposed to be completely silent. I don't really care though, just thought I'd mention it. It is still silent 99% of the time.

5 out of 5 eggsMacBook Pro 17-inch Late 2011

Pros: Fast, reasonable price, easy to install, TRIM support. Running Mavericks 10.9.2, I used a free utility called TRIM Enabler, to get around Apple's little restriction on non-OEM drives. Having said that, after one of the updated TRIM support was somehow turned off. I did not notice any difference in speed, and only say it was disabled when I went into System Information to get the exact modern of the drive to tell somebody else. Once I re-enabled it by using TRIM Enabler, there was no apparent change.

Cons: Apple has always been a pain when it came to third-party hardware. Whether or not TRIM is necessary can be debated. *This is not Corsair's fault, nor is it a design flaw, just something annoying Mac users must deal with.* Giving up Windows for Mac is akin to replacing a bunch of dangerous issues (Windows) for a bunch of annoying issues (Apple).

Other Thoughts: Back in my undergraduate college days (1996-2000), we wondered what would replace hard drives, and if hard drives would eventually go the way of tapes. Tapes never went away, and I don't think hard drives will either. Future Computer Science students will no longer have to calculate "rotational delay!"

4 out of 5 eggsOK, while it lasted

Pros: Very fast - a VAST improvement over my 2.5" HDD that came with my Asus as far as speed is concerned.

Cons: Purchased 6/2013, toasted 4/2014. Past Newegg warranty, but was able to RMA it through Corsair. I had cloned to a 500 GB, so had to purchase a Samsung 840 EVO 500 GB as a replacement; oh well, I can use the RMA as a clone backup for my Netbook.....

Other Thoughts: No problem getting an RMA, but the wait was 6 days (apparently since they are moving)

1 out of 5 eggsCrashed After 1 Power Outage

Pros: When it worked, it was fast.

Cons: Crpped out and won't turn on at all after one measly power outage. No other hardware failed, just the SSD. This Neutron SSD had my OS and all my applications on it, so thankfully not much was lost. Then again, this is supposed to be a reliable SSD, and you pay a premium. Obviously not worth that at all. My research indicates Intel SSD is more reliable these days. Corsair seems to have gone majorly downhill here. Forums are cluttered with Corsair SSDs that have failed after power outage. Buyer beware!

Other Thoughts: Going to try for a warranty claim since this has 5 years and the drive was purchased in 2013. Did I forget to mention that? The drive is less than a year old and failed after one measly power outage (no other hardware affected all over the house in multiple other pcs/electronics)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: I have two of these working in RAID0. They are fast and well priced. Had them for 8 months now and no issues. I push the power button and in 31 seconds Im playing Skyrim or FSX or on the internet searching.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Wish I'd splurged on 4 of them.

i7 4770k @ 4.6 Ghz
MSI Z87-G45 MB
4x4GB GSkill 2400 Mhz Trident X @ 10-12-11-29-1N
PNY GTX780
and two of these in RAID0

4 out of 5 eggsKeeping my fingers crossed

Pros: price/performance ration was great at the time of purchase for SSD's.

Cons: was as sensitive as a fat chick when it came to first install; took a bit of research on SSD's and settings in the BIOS & Windows to get its read/write speed up to what was advertised (It chugged super slow at first)

Other Thoughts: -I'm at the 10 month mark and it's still working. VERY possible judging by other reviews that this will fail soon.
-1 egg docked due to price. The price/performance used to be MUCH better (I bought this SSD and WD Black 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s for $295).
