Corsair Neutron Series SSDs employ professional-grade LAMD SSD controllers to deliver strong overall storage performance without tradeoffs. They offer impressive performance, even with compressed and non-compressible data. With a 2.5-inch standard form factor and only 7 inches tall, they can fit any systems which support a 2.5-inch drive. The 2.5- to 3.5-inch adapter offers compatibility with desktop PCs.

  • newegg Serious Real-World Performance The Link_A_Media (LAMD) controller delivers both super-high IOPs — important for data-intensive tasks like video and image editing — and superior sequential read speeds for lighting fast file access. Neutron’s real-world performance design focus means impressive file loading times, even with non-compressible data. You can count on the performance and speed no matter what type of work you do on your PC.
  • newegg Install It Almost Anywhere Neutron Series SSDs follows the universal 2.5-inch standard, and snaps into place on most notebooks. They are just 7mm high, so they can be installed even in many of the latest slim designs that have additional space restrictions. An adapter is included for wide desktop PC support.
  • newegg Built for SATA 3 6Gbps The Neutron Series is designed to support the latest high-speed standards to get the most performance out of the latest PCs. It's also fully backward compatible with SATA 2.
  • newegg Cool and Quiet, with Low Power Consumption Traditional mechanical hard drives spin at thousands of revolutions per minute. This takes power, and generates noise and heat. Since SSDs have no moving parts, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC. It can also save the battery life on notebooks.

3 out of 5 eggsFailed Under Warranty, Corsair sent me a smaller capacity as a replacement

Pros: Good size, fast, good warranty period

Cons: Hard drive burned out in warranty, I paid to ship it back, I went weeks without the drive and had to loan a computer, they replaced it with a smaller drive that I cant use because its to small for my needs. Now im back in the market so I can replace the drive, and I wont be buying from Corsair again.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid SSD

Pros: Very Good SSD. I had it for a few years and

Cons: There are probably newer models out now.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this product to someone who wishes to upgrade to SSD without spending a small fortune, but 512 GB SSDs are affordable now so if you are building a top of the line PC, you could do better.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Fast

Pros: I've had this drive for about two years and I can tell you that it's advertised speeds are right on with it's performance. It even came with the adapter bracket which as many of you know a lot of the SSD's do not come with.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: It's a con now, but not when I bought this drive, but Corsair's customer support has gone downhill drastically.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed after about a year

Pros: Very fast

Cons: Failed way too fast.

Other Thoughts: IT was pretty disappointing to find that after a year it had no longer works. It seems to be a really common occurrence with this drive. I would not recommend it

2 out of 5 eggsCorsair neutron 256gb

Pros: fast, very small, and was easy to setup.

Cons: Only lasted about 11 months. MBR (master boot record) issues and then pc would not see it.

Other Thoughts: good for about 11 months, then MBR errors and failure to see SSD on boot. has this about 25% of the time. Upgraded system with I7, asus z97, good ram and mbr issues. tried update but failed, ticket in with corsair and they sent me a link for latest toolbox. http://downloads.corsair.com/download?item=Files/SSD/CSSDT_1.2.2.5_WIN.zip
I was able to get data off drive and will try and get it resolved or replaced. Gave it 2/5 because it was fast in my older system and other than the MBR boot issue worked well.

2 out of 5 eggsDying Drive

Pros: Extremely fast drive. Easy setup. Corsair SSD toolbox is a nice utility.

Cons: Drive is crashing after owning for 8 months. After reading other reviews, this seems to be typical. Currently waiting for Corsair support to respond to ticket.
