I put them in my M17X to increase to 16GB although they are 1333 instead of the 1600 I had in. They are working fine.

Is the Corsair Vengeance DDR3L 8GB and 16GB 1866MHz compatible with a Dell Inspiron 15-i5558-2858BLK dual channel Intel Core i3 currently running 1600MHz factory installed? Will the Dell operate at 1866MHz? If not, can this Dell model run the 1600MHz  at 1600MHz frequency problem free?

As long as the Dell is running DDR3. If you put a 1866MHz in an your system only handles 1600MHz It backlash an operate at the highest setting for that system. The Gigabytes of the memory is the problem. If you put in to much it will not boot.

I purchased a Lenovo G505S with the A10 quadcore 2.5 ghz (3.5 turbo). That processor is 1866mhz  compatible but is the motherboard and bios able to read/handle that speed?

If the memory is not supported up to the clock frequency it will only go as fast as the motherboard supports.

Memory is 2600mHz
Motherboard is 1866? The Ram will only go up to 1866 and will down clock. (At least it should.)
