5 out of 5 eggsHigh quality

Pros: Compatible with a wide range of motherboards and processors.

Cons: Not great for overclocking. Pricey.

Other Thoughts: When I am looking for RAM with quality control and compatibility, I generally use Kingston. It may not be the fastest or the best deal, but I can depend on it working.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Happy

Pros: None

Cons: Poor quality control

Other Thoughts: I purchased this memory because it was on the ASRock compatibility list for the mainboard I purchased. Until recently, I had many intermittent GPU (Intel integrated) problems with my system (graphics / computer froze). Initially, I thought there were issues with the mainboard so I returned 2 mainboards for replacement. I ran many memory tests and no problems were ever found. I resolved that there was a problem with the CPU integrated graphics but decided to first replace the memory since it was the lowest cost alternative. This time I bought the trusted brand I normally buy despite the fact that it was not listed on the ASRock compatible list. Turns out, the memory was the problem. 8 months later, I am stuck with 2 expensive sticks of defective memory. Not happy.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Scott,
We apologize for the issue experienced with the memory you recieved. We perform 100% testing on all of our memory to ensure quality and reliability, detailed here:

5 out of 5 eggsValue at its finest

Pros: Excellent DDR3 RAM at an economical price.
Very low profile, fits under most large air coolers.
Exposed chips allow easy air cooling via case fans.
Verified to be compatible with most modern systems.

Cons: Exposed chips are not for everybody.
CAS latency of 11 may not be suitable for OC/ROG.

Other Thoughts: This memory is what it is, 1600MHz DDR3 designed to run in dual channel mode on most systems which use this type of RAM. Four of these can be fitted in a Haswell 1150 machine, giving a total of 32GB, enough memory space for even the most demanding multithreaded task

Since 1995, I have trusted Kingston to deliver when it comes to RAM that works as soon as you boot it up and keeps on working long after the platform is obsolete. I do not use any other brand in my builds unless the customer specifies otherwise. They rarely do because Kingston is the best.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks!

Pros: Working right out of the box for a homelab ESXi. I have been testing for roughly 2-3 weeks to make sure it is stable enough to move my server (old PC) over to it and start progressing. Very impressed so far.

Cons: Only one thing that needs mentioning - timings on my motherboard are reporting high but when you check them under a OS (Windows), they are correct.

Other Thoughts: SuperMicro X9SRL-F
2x Kingston 16GB (KVR16N11K2/16)
Crucial MX100 512GB
ARK 4U-500

5 out of 5 eggsKingston 16 GB works perfectly

Pros: I bought this memory for a new system build with an ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 motherboard. It has worked flawlessly with my AMD FX-8350 processor.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I carefully checked supported memory modules for the motherboard and processor prior to purchasing. The Kingston is on the approved list and has lived up to all expectations.

Newegg delivery was extremely fast - as usual their performance in order accuracy and delivery was great.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent in Dell XPS 8700

Pros: Memory works fine at 1600 MHz in a Dell XPS 8700. With the 8meg factory installed these memory chips increased the onboard memory to 24meg.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsXPS 8500 Upgrade

Pros: If you have not identified yet, the Dell XPS 8500 has some quirks as to what RAM it will operate at 1600/800Mhz with (even if the RAM says that is its speed). This RAM performs at 1600/800Mhz with the system upon installation (the BIOS does not allow tweaking). Just stick this in the open slots besides what came with your system and instant, reasonably priced upgrade. In my case, 8GB to 24GB. Despite my significant photo editing, likely overkill for me. Highly recommended

Cons: The XPS comes with higher latency 11CL RAM and this RAM is the same. What does that mean? Not much. "High Performance" RAM is generally CL9 or lower... I understand this RAM vs. CL9 has about a 1% reduction in performance vs. what could be... more or less academic, especially considering most performance RAM on the XPS operates at 667Mhz vs. the 800Mhz that this operates which takes away that deficit and adds more substantial performance. Really no trade off understanding the price as well as the incremental RAM provided by "reusing' the OEM RAM.

Other Thoughts: It took me several weeks, trial and error with other RAM, and then some intensive forum searching to land on this RAM... not because it is low priced, but because it is faster on an XPS that you can get with most other RAM... It is a Dell motherboard thing...

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Good value, good quality. I love the Kingston Value RAM line. for both personal and work, very rare to have an issue.

Small form factor.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: really low height form factor. both modules actually in a container the size of the traditional Kingston memory packing.
