1 out of 5 eggsIncompatible booting Apple products

Pros: Aluminum, slim but still won't fit alongside occupied USB port. Has lanyard loop. Red LED visible through smoked lanyard loop.
Previous Team X101 worked as a bootable USB drive to troubleshoot Mac products.

Cons: Having issue compared to previous Team X101 in blue (Newegg not stock this or other 64GB)
This will mount on later model Macbookpro/iMac but will not boot. GUID formatted, partitioned. Installed OS, utility drive. Older blue X101 works but not this later, silver model (different p/n). System profiler shows different vendor IDs. Confirmed 4 of these we bought in April do not boot 2012 or later Apple products. Have emailed TEAM in Taiwan but... now need to find bootable 64GB USB3.0.

Other Thoughts: Felt the previous 64GB TEAM X101 was fine. But something changed with this one. It will mount, but not boot Apple on USB 3.0 ports.
Update: something is with this drive's chipset. Compared to previous 64GB TEAM X101 in blue, all 4 Silver do the same thing.
Any suggest a USB 3.0 that boots a Mac with USB 3.0 in 64gb that isn't wide, fat, rubber or fugly looking? Thanks.

2 out of 5 eggsNice aluminum shell, but junk inside.

Pros: I like the aluminum shell, far preferring it over the same old plastic.

Cons: The claimed speeds aren't met, not even close. White the Read Speed did hit 157MB/s, the Write Speed was 25MB/s, quite short of the 70 they claim. Oddly, even thought the specs on the Newegg product page say 120MB/s read, the retail package that the drive arrived in said 180MB/s Read Speed.

Other Thoughts: I wrote to TEAM, they said claimed my test results are skewed due to software/hardware/phase of moon/day of the week. They also asked if I was using a USB 2.0 slot. Unfortunately for them, I do know the difference between USB slots, and I test all USB drives in the same ones (3.0 of course), and no other drive I've tested has suffered like this has. Corsair, Sandisk, Transcend, all met their claimed speeds, and then some. I gave TEAM a chance, as I wanted to see their quality. They did not meet my expectations.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works as expected.

Pros: I am happy with this stick. It works fine and actually better than I expected.

It seems very sturdy.

USB 3.0 mode:

The read times are up to 153 MB/s and the write times are up to 70 MB/s.

USB 2.0 mode:

The read times are up to 29MB/s and the write times are up to 27 MB/s.

Cons: none yet.

Other Thoughts: When I need another flash drive it will be team.

-Did I mention it was fast?

Cons: -No cap tether / cap doesn't clip on the back

Other Thoughts: According to Win7, to this stick from a SATA II WD Black drive I get sustained file transfers of 75-80MB per second (200+ Meg files)

4 out of 5 eggsGood Flash Drive

Pros: Great space, pretty design, 3.0 USB.

Cons: Good luck getting this thing on your key chain! The hole is very very tiny, but I just managed to find one to fit it.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: USB 3.
64GB.
Tight fitting cap (although I don't like cap designs).
Nice dim, red activity light on the back.

Cons: On Linux, writing to this drive from another USB 3 device, transfer speeds start at over 100 MB/s and decrease by about 1 MB/s. That means if you're transferring a several Gig folder to the flash drive, it gradually slows to around 20-30 MB/s, and then sits for several minutes at 100% to "finish up" before it finishes the transfer.

Other Thoughts: I bought this because it was the fastest and cheapest flash drive on Newegg. Fortunately it works fine to USB-Load my Wii (the reason I bought it), however I will spend a little more for a better quality drive in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdated review

Pros: An update to my previous post. I have since done further testing, and enabled write caching on the device and it now performs as advertised. My slow read/write speeds could have been various issues since I had rebooted my PC and changed to a different USB 3.0 port on the tower.

Cons: Gave me slow read/write speeds initially, but works fine now. I don't like it when products scare me like that. ;)

Other Thoughts: I should test things for more than just one day before leaving a review.

3 out of 5 eggsMostly Impressed

Pros: Awesome build quality. Feels solid, not cheap.
Activity LED isn't overly bright or blinding.
Not too big, not too small.

Cons: Comes formatted as exFAT, which is generally terrible, but useable.
A real pain to take the USB drive out of the plastic packing.
"Real world" write tests were far from advertised. As I type I'm writing a 10GB dummy file at a mere 37-38MB/s. This was also the case moving a 4GB dummy file, an 8GB movie mkv, and a 800MB CD-ROM backup (.iso).

Moving the files back from the drive to the computer was only slightly faster ranging around 40-45MB/s. Again far from the advertised speeds.

Other Thoughts: I don't expect to hit the advertised speeds in real world use, but I do expect it to be close. I will be deciding if I return this device or not in the next day or two.
