1 out of 5 eggsWill fail, son or later (probably sonner..)

Pros: Cheap fast for read

Cons: Failed after 1,4 year of moderate use. The partition table was corrupted. The bigger partition (2/3 of total size) was completely lost. It was possible to read the data from the other partitions, but not helped mutch, because the valuable data was in the bigger partition.

Other Thoughts: I would have paid more for a product of quality, but at the time I bought this one, most of the reviews were good... :-(

2 out of 5 eggsBad Batch?

Pros: Nice price, small footprint.

Cons: I have purchased several of these drives over the past year. This month two of them have died within a week of each other. Complete corruption of the partition and data lost. I'm hesitant to say that the whole product line is bad, but I can't take the chance on it just being a bad batch problem.

Other Thoughts: I am now in the process of replacing all of these drives with another brand as I can't afford to lose the data on the imation drives that are in other stores.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat "Reliability"

Pros: Ordered two of these, and installed them both in the same pc, at first I had them as separate drives but after about a week I set up RAID 0 with them and it was great, I got about 235 MB/s sequential read and 150 MB/s write.

Cons: After three months one of the drives died and with no warranty to replace it, I was out 90 dollars.

Other Thoughts: The other drive is still kicking though, I have steam and a few games installed on it. SSD's are great drives but don't get these unless you're prepared to lose data. You get what you pay for and these are cheap compared to quality SSDs.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor quality drive

Pros: Price was $79.99

Cons: The drive broke in 4 months. Got a replacement. Now a new drive is failing every couple of days, so the pc (win 2008 server) is rebooting and doesn't recognize the drive. Need manually press power button and boot the system.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Drive

Pros: It works great as the OS drive (LinHES) for a mythtv frontend. Nice and cool, quick boots. Set it and forget it.

Cons: Nothing really.

Other Thoughts: Was thinking of buying another, but the price has doubled in the past 6 months!

1 out of 5 eggsFails in 3 months

Pros: It worked great for the first two months. Read performance was nice, write was a little slower than a typical SATA HDD.

Cons: It showed a few smart errors but nothing serious.. then this morning total failure. When they marketed this drive, it was targeted for rugged environments. My server is now down because someone can't QA hardware. I'm just going to avoid storage products from companies starting with the letter i.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this. Just go with another brand. There are many other posts about Imation drives failing. I just wish they were there before I bought mine.

3 out of 5 eggsHard to Figure

Pros: Compact, easy to install, fast when it works. Note I am using the drive for program access and NOT as a boot drive, so I do almost no writes to the drive. The few writes I have had to do (program upgrades) have been fairly slow, but the loads I have had (and there have been MANY) have been much quicker. I am very well pleased with it for this application (when it's working).

IMO, a good (not great) value

Cons: Seems to have intermittent issues; ran fine for 2 months, spent a month with regular (and continuous) failures, now back to working - weird, but that's the facts!

Imation Product Support was fair but could use work - see Other Thoughts. This cost the product an egg in the rating. Imation, please do better! I know you can!

Other Thoughts: Imation Product Support is tough to find - the email and telephone numbers ARE on their web site, but not in one of the (to me and I think others) Obvious Places. Then, the support staffer I spoke with first insisted that I load a firmware patch on a drive that was not being recognized by the controller. This, of course, failed. Repeatedly. Two days later, I spoke with a different support staffer, who recognized that, if the drive wasn't being recognized, there was no way to load the firmware patch. I repeated my attempts to get the drive recognized, removing both the drive and the SATA2 6GB driver card (thanks Newegg!) I had added to my system to support it. Nothing worked. After several interactions with Imation support, I did succeed in getting an RMA. After the good luck I had had with the drive for 2 months, I made one more try, removing the drive and controller again, and this time ~>shazam<~ it worked again! Magic RMA, perhaps? It has been a Good Week...

1 out of 5 eggsGreat for 2 months

Pros: Installed as easily as a regular drive and performance was slightly better.

Cons: Started hanging after a couple of months and completely stopped working soon after that.

Other Thoughts: This was installed in a miniITX case running a Celeron 220. I didn't see any heat issues with the processor, but I don't know if the confined space created a heat issue for the SSD. In any case, it had more and airflow than in a typical laptop.

1 out of 5 eggsGrrr

Pros: Light weight
Looks neat-o
Minimal Heat

Cons: What a doozy.. I didn't realize when I purchase this 32Gb ssd that I would only get 100mb workable space, and by workable I mean partitioned space that is visible but not accessible.

What it comes down to is I have a wicked looking SSD that will not format past 100mb, additionally will not let me reformat, repartition, delete, modify, move, or really do anything of use.

Other Thoughts: Imation's website is all but useful; their support page swings you around in circles until your neck is sore and then you realize you're back at the main page, no closer to solving the problem.

Finally after finding the tech support email address, I wait patiently for a reply.

If anything happens I will make an new review.. only if I get a working SSD.

(I should have listened to the good advice.. wait a year or so when the SSD have the kinks all out and have a much lager capacity.)
