1 out of 5 eggsBroke after very little use

This review is from: HP X702 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD128HP702-GE

Pros: High capacity. Writes and reads fast.

Cons: Used the first week I got it. Didn't use it for around 8 months. Then when I tried it again it won't read on any of my computers. They recognize that it is plugged in sometimes but it isn't recognized as a disk of any kind. Just a block device with no data. Fortunately I didn't have anything important on it.

Other Thoughts: I would never recommend a device that can't last even a year sitting on the shelf unused.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat while it lasted

This review is from: HP X702 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD128HP702-GE

Pros: This product performed well speed transfers.

Cons: Randomly quit working one day. Lost all data that had been on the drive. Lasted only a few months.

Other Thoughts: Looking to replace this one.

1 out of 5 eggsStay Far Far Away

This review is from: HP X702 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD128HP702-GE

Pros: Was cheap when I bought it.

Cons: Stopped working after a month. Now shows up as a 1GB drive, even the HP utility won't fix it.

Other Thoughts: These guys should be in jail for fraud, stay away from this crud will never buy another HP thumb drive again.

1 out of 5 eggsHP is garbage

This review is from: HP X702 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD128HP702-GE

Pros: Worked great for 4 months.

Cons: It died. Customer service bounced me around for 2 hours between websites and phone numbers. In the end the only support left is an email address they gave me. Now we wait to see if the respond.

Other Thoughts: One egg is 9 too many.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your time or money on this product

This review is from: HP X702 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD128HP702-GE

Pros: Capacity

Cons: 100% prone to fail

Other Thoughts: My story: ordered 5 units and all of them died. Units have been sent back to PNY for RMA because HP doesn't provide direct support for this product. Overall, just stay away from this item

1 out of 5 eggsUnreliable with Dell tablet

This review is from: HP X702 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD128HP702-GE

Pros: Inexpensive (if it were usable...)

Cons: I inserted it into my Dell Venue 11 Pro 7140 tablet, running Windows 8.1 Pro. Formatted it to NTFS. Successfully wrote and read back a few gigabytes... great!

Packed it for a trip, intending to use it to backup photos. When I arrived at my destination and tried to to use the drive, it showed up as "Removable Disk", and when I clicked on it, it says, "Please insert a disk into Removable Disk". Brilliant.

Neither removing/reinserting the device nor power-cycling or restarting the tablet make any difference. I can't reformat, since the Disk Management tool also sees it as a removable device. It's just unusable.

My first (successful) test was within the time period in which the device was returnable to Newegg. It failed while I was traveling and was past the return period when I returned from my trip.

I generally avoid HP products, and this experience is reinforcing that position.

1 out of 5 eggsbought 2, both junk

This review is from: HP X702 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD128HP702-GE

Pros: plugs into both usb ports.

Cons: Doesn't work in either one on any machine.

Other Thoughts: From my experience and the other messages on this board, they didn't bother to test these. Good going HP, not that I was disappointed.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

This review is from: HP X702 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD128HP702-GE

Pros: No Pros with this particular unit, I can't speak for the product as a whole.

Cons: Drive could not be recognized by multiple computers. I did manage to get the USB interface to connect a couple of times, but the drive appears to be dead or severed from the USB interface.

Other Thoughts: The only thing worse than completely wasting your money is to completely waste your time on the internet and phone trying to get a defective product replaced; It more than cancels out the convenience of shopping online.

Cons: does not work

1 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: HP X702 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Model P-FD128HP702-GE

Pros: None - apparently DOA.

Cons: Have plugged it into multiple computers and it has mounted on none of them. Gets warm but does nothing, never shows up as a usable drive.

Apparently garbage, even at a bargain price. Like another user in these reviews I waited to open it until long after it arrived and now I am stuck dealing with PNY warranty.

Other Thoughts: Run, do not walk, past this item.
