5 out of 5 eggsLasted 7 Years

Pros: I got 4 of these when I first purchased my computer in 2008. This year one of them finally died. One pair is still going strong. 7 years solid - I can't argue with that. I would definitely (and in fact did today) purchase iRam again in the future.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsRe: all appears fine until they fail

Pros: Update to my review below. Back up an running with all 16GB of Ram.

Cons: Update to my review below. I had a 2GB module fail and it took some time to get replaced but it has been replaced. The replacement has some dust on the heatsink. It would have been nice of them to blow that off before shipping it but I am happy to have received the replacement free of charge.

Other Thoughts: Avant Technologies replaced the bad RAM module after I used the service of the BBB. Avant/iRam claims they never received my messages from their web forms on Avant Tech or iRam tech web sites. However, they did get in contact with me and sent me out a replacement DIMM free of charge.

1 out of 5 eggsall appears fine until they fail

Pros: Most of the 16GB (2GBx8) iRam modules in my mac have been running well for the past 4+ years.

Cons: Then I had a 2GB module fail and the company will not respond to any contact attempts I have made for the last 10 days. I even tried contacting their parent company, Avant Technology. Not a single response.

Other Thoughts: Do NOT buy from iRam. Once the sale is over there is no support.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Of the three sets of iram i have, two sets work flawlessly.

Cons: One set, had the wrong heat sink attached to it. So it runs Stupidly hot.

Other Thoughts: I've made several attempts to contact iram, AND their parent company avant. but to no avail.

1 out of 5 eggsdies - poor quality, no warranty honored by iRam

Pros: while it works... its ok however, read below

Cons: this ram runs HOT. thats why they have the heat sinks. the problem is underspec heat sink compound that eventually melts and leaks out as an oily film. I have at least 4 failed modules. at this point the chips probably fail because of heat, although it could also be the melted compound too. it really doesn't matter, the failure is always the same.

its only a matter of time before they fail, 1 year, maybe 2. its hit or miss.

iRam has not honored their lifetime warranty on the product because they refuse to respond. I've contacted them multiple times and they ignore me.

1 out of 5 eggsFail on every level

Pros: It's inexpensive

Cons: Had four modules fail in the span of 60 days, coincidence? Nope.

Other Thoughts: Limited lifetime warranties sound great if you can actually have a company make good on that promise. Sent two emails to the iRam and neither was returned. I also tried to call their number off the website and......wait for it.....voicemail is always full so you can never leave message. I get burned once and never go back, I also spread as much word-of-mouth warnings about that particular company as I can for a very long time.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great in my Mac Pro 3,1 2008

Pros: They work perfectly in my 2008 Mac Pro 3,1 dual quad core Xeon. I just installed another 2 x 2GB of these in my system. My memory trays are now full at 14GB. I have three pairs of these iRAM modules installed (running since 2009) plus the 2 x 1GB stock Apple modules.

Cons: None.

1 out of 5 eggsSlow to process

Pros: Good price

Cons: I selected overnight freight, but did not relaize that you need to pay a nominal fee for rush processing. Took Newegg 5 days to process an order for some RAM.
