iRam 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) ECC Memory For Apple Model IR6GMP1066TC

Pros: price was right, supports mac pro

Cons: I purchased 2 packs of 3 modules so I could go to 8 Gigs on my new Mac Pro. First back worked fine, second back had 1 bad module (showed up as 1 gig instead of 2). I was told I had to send the whole 3 pack back instead of just one. No problem and newegg shipped me another 3 pack. The new modules were ALL bad and showed up as only 1 gig. I tried mixing, tried in every slot, same problem. Now newegg paid to ship the second set back but told me they would cross ship after UPS had it in transit. I called back and was told no, then my RMA was set up a refund instead of a return and now I am not sure of when or what I am getting back. I am quite let down with the product and newegg really let me down for not following through on what they said they would do. I am not sure if newegg was trying to help me by changing me RMA into a refund but I really want the 8 gigs of RAM and now I am in limbo.

Other Thoughts: I think newegg has good intentions but they are really putting me in a bind. Just last night I was working with CS4 and I was running out of memory at 6 gigs. Those extra 2 gigs would really have helped and I am out the cash and still not sure where I am at with a product. The 6 gigs I have running work great as far as I can tell. I did have one hard reboot in Vista Ultimate 64 but OS/X has been great and Windows 7 is totally stable, so I am thinking the memory that is working is solid.

I just wish I could get another 2 gigs working for me!

Pros: Low price

Cons: I ordered two sets of these for my mac pro, when they first arrived one of the packs had a single bad stick but other then that all the other sticks registered their full amount.

The first RMA part I received had yet again 1 bad stick except this time the other 2 only registered as 1GB each and NON-ECC.

My second RMA showed up today and now all 3 work but register as 1GB each and NON-ECC.

Pros: None

Cons: I've been sent this same kind of 6 gb RAM from iRam twice now and both times it's been bad. The first time, only 5 of 12 gb registered, and the second time, 6 of 12 registered. Never had a problem with RAM before until this point. Either they falsely advertise or are just incompetent.
