Memory. Until it stops working, it's not very exciting, and when it does stop working, it's all the wrong kind of excitement, right? So, we're not going to try to get you excited about memory; we're just going to say that this is a good buy and you ought to consider it for your machine. It has an aluminum heat spreader and a limited LIFETIME warranty for parts and labor, both to protect your investment in what we sincerely hope will be one of the dullest, most matter of fact purchases you ever make.
At this price, you just might be able to fill your motherboard faster than you had thought you could, and that, at least, is an exciting thought!

Great Ram Super Talent is not an "off brand"
- Pros: This is excellent RAM. Super Talent may not be familiar to everyone, but it is most certainly not an "off brand" -whatever that means. Everyone knows kingston and corsair, but actually this is better. I've used Super Talent for years and it has always performed incredibly well. Super Talent always uses the highest grade Samsung memory, adds the heatsink, and gives you a lifetime warranty. If by off brand you mean "generic" you couldn't be more off the mark.
- Cons: None. I used the DDR 400 on all my systems before. I recently bought 6 sticks of this for 3 new systems, all run flawlessly. IMHO this is the best memory for the money.
- Other Thoughts: Kingston is a very good company, but they use a variety of chips from different manufacturers and it is virtually impossible to determine which ones they've used until you actually have the sticks in your hand. So unless you buy a dual channel kit initially you are taking a big chance if you want to upgrade - I know from experience. Kingston, in using chips of various manufacturers actually offers chips with different specs on RAM sticks sold under the same exact part number. So when you get them some may have Nanya chips, some Samsung, etc., etc., etc. With Super Talent you are always getting the same specs. So if you need to upgrade you know you will get quality, compatibility, dual channel performance, and stability.
w00t!
- Pros: Rock solid, runs at a reasonable temp on a foxconn NF4SLI7AA-8KRS2 mobo, no issues, rock solid, i intend to buy three more so i can run four gigs in dual channel mode. wont be for a while though. i will tell how that works out in the end.
- Cons: None. solid, no prob's what so ever. well, aside from the fact that the price went down since i bought it.. it was over a hundred then..
- Other Thoughts: ehhh... wish i had another three to go with it.. but, its like they say, wish in one hand... this has been running in a system that is running about six to twenty hours a day. works great for everything. i can run 3d studio max, photoshop CS2, MSN, TIM, WMP10, windows blinds, and web browse with FF at the same time on two monitors with this gig of ram runnin. just wait till i get four gigs..

xtremly happy customer
- Pros: I upgrade probably 20 - 30 computers a week. Most are Dell or Toshiba and come with stock memory. Dell is very honest upfront and will tell you to upgrade your memory to their max capacity. This customer had 128mb in their Dell and we placed this 2gb memory in cleaned out the unused not needed programs and this guy is raving about how fast his laptop is now. Super Talent is one of the better modules out their and Neweggs price (and free shipping) can't be beat. Do yourself a favor and upgrade your memory. If you have a Dell go to their website and they will step by step show you how to uninstal and install new memory. Windows eats memory so the more you have the faster your computer will run. XP, Vista or even the new Win 7.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: In over 7 years dealing with Newegg I have had only 1 RMA. How all these other people have DOAs they must be doing something wrong. Static wrist strap will take care of most of your problems.
Again thanks Newegg another great shipment on time works like a charm and I have another very happy customer, who by the way brought all his companies computers in for upgrades so another busy week for you and me.
Lack of Talent
- Pros: good looking heat spreader. Worked well for the short period of time.
- Cons: Was running in my BIOSTAR Pentium 4 system, and after three weeks I caused the screen to go beserk, then the system wouldn't post after the system locked up. fortunately I had another manufacturers stick, removed the Super Talent Memory module, and installed the other stick and Voila! It worked. No problems since....
- Other Thoughts: I don't think it is worth it to RMA.
Should be called, "Give your computer cancer!"
- Pros: Does not give YOU cancer.
- Cons: I have purchased hundreds of Super Talent sticks and in the last year I finally had to abandon them. This stick in particular gave me the pleasure of reinstalling Windows more than once.
- Other Thoughts: Excellent with bacon bits and ranch dressing, assuming you use actual lettuce in your salad and not this stick of memory.
Bad memory sticks should be referred to as, "Class Action Lawsuits By Technicians Who Have Become Postal Trying to Work With Subpar Products".
