Very fast drive
- Pros: Very fast drive. Good price/performance ratio for current SSDs. Lives up to its specs.
- Cons: None so far.
- Other Thoughts: Installed Windows 7 in no time. Everything is much faster from this drive...programs open instantly, Windows boots in seconds.
Fast...
- Pros: Tablet boots quickly and operating performance is what I had expected. Not the fastest drive, but spending upwards of $5 per GB is asinine.
- Cons: No support. This technology should be much cheaper than it is already.
- Other Thoughts: These in RAID 0 might be cool in my desktop, but I would still like more GB/$ to make it comparable to what I have right now.
pretty awesome
- Pros: Everything runs faster and I mean everything. My games are faster, my apps are faster, web browsing is faster. Boots, shut downs, memory test, everything. It consumes very little power and is way smaller and way lighter than i expected.
- Cons: Writes are slower than my 1.5 TB drive formatted to ext4. I can get about 50-60 mb/s write on this guy while my larger drive tops out at 78 mb/s. That being said my big drive bottoms out at 20 mb/s and this guy has never gone below 45mb/s and that was on multiple random writes. I had to drill new screw holes in my drive cage to mount this, but that took about five minutes to do. Latching sata cables don't seem to latch on this thing. Honestly that and the price per GB are it. Great drive and has TRIM support with linux kernel.
- Other Thoughts: I have my OS installed on this and it's perfect for that. I wrote my file tree so that my music and videos are on my big disk and the rest of the os is on this drive with the exception of the tmp directory and swap. It's really allowed my whole machine to run faster. It's amazing how much of a bottle neck the drive can be. The speed gain is marginal so if your just surfing the web it's not really worth it, but for gamers, programers, media nerds, and producers, this thing is a startlingly great upgrade.
