5 out of 5 eggsGood speed

Pros: Fantastic IOPS performance. Cheap performance for web server VMs compared to SAS RAID or SLC drives. No disk thrashing makes allocating storage for virtual machines simple. Only a little over 2W power draw. Doesn't get hot.

Cons: None so far. Performance for SSD drives is supposed to degrade with time, though I haven't noticed in only 3 months. Write amplification MIGHT cause it to have to be replaced more often than SAS drives. No TRIM command (though Linux doesn't yet support it anyway).

Other Thoughts: Installed in a socket 1366 server with 12 GB RAM for running 5 Linux virtual machine web servers. Each VM has 20 GB including its own database storage. The VMs are 90% read-only, so performance is outstanding. For this application, I don't think SAS drives could compete, and it's a good deal cheaper than SLC drives.

5 out of 5 eggsWindows 7 Experience Index to 7.3

Pros: installed win7 64bit in less then 30 minutes, & compliments my quad core toe to toe. installed without a hitch. my asus mobo bios recognize it immediately.
man! i'm gonna get another one!

Cons: does not come with cable or any instructions.
dangerously tempting to spend more & get another one.

Other Thoughts: now i'm gonna have to upgrade the sony vaio laptop too.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW Factor

Pros: There is a WOW Factor! Installed in a Octo 2.8 MacPro went from 75MB/s to over 200MB/s - makes things snappy. Installed Snow Leopard and other apps. Just rips thru everything you throw at it. No problems at all...

Cons: None, only wish I could afford to buy enough for a large raid.

Other Thoughts: If your in a high-end work environment where performance counts with stability buy this drive. Its stable and very fast.

5 out of 5 eggsVery fast

Pros: Very easy to install. Loaded Windows 7 64bit RC in less than 20 min. I applied all the changes to the OS that is believed to increase speed and longevity.

Cons: Space for penny.

Other Thoughts: System: Core i7 920 3.8 ghz O/C. EVGA x58. 6 gig of G-skill ram@ 1600mhz. 280GTX SLI. Windows 7 RC 64bit.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Drives

Pros: These Drives are FAST, well designed and work better then expected

Cons: SSD's are still pricey but worth it if you need fast access and killer transfer rates

Other Thoughts: I have 4 of these in a RAID 0, mounted in a single 5.25" bay with a 4 hot swap cage connected to a rocketraid 4320. the HD test showed 600MB read throughput average and .1 MS access time.
The System is a i7 950 with 6GB ram Water Cooled on an ASUS Revolution board, GPU is an EVGA 295gtx co-op the 4 SSD's in raid 0 for OS and APPS, 2 300GB Velociraptors in raid 0 for added Cache/Apps. 12 1TB F1 Raid edition drives in Raid 6 for storage.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth every dollar

Pros: Fast, very fast. I replaced my boot drive in my MacBook Pro (2007 model) and performance is amazing. Mac OS X swaps quite a bit so the fast swap space makes a big performance difference. I'm no longer disk i/o bound.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I can sustain 85 MB/sec reads and writes to a FireWire 800 stripe of two disks. That is as fast as the spindles can go; 2 x WD BLACK 320GB 2.5".

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Quick and responsive. Load times obliterated. Installs nice and smooth. Small, silent, efficient... Haven't encountered any stuttering, only great performance.

Cons: A hefty investment for penny pinchers like myself, but well worth it.

Other Thoughts: Newegg what happened? I've gotten spoiled with the blazing fast delivery speeds, but this time it took nearly a full week. Yeah, the shipping was free, but dang, the anticipation nearly killed me...

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Definitely fast and samsung controller inside. Loads everything super quick and lives up to hype.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I originally was planning on purchasing the corsair p128, but it was unfortunately out of stock. I bought this one as seeing how similar they were. Came to find out. They are practically identical. I don't regret getting the super talent at all.

5 out of 5 eggsSamsung Controller Based

Pros: Great delivery & product packaging - Think "Safe".

Netbook -> Asus Aspire 1 with 2GB & 270 chipset.

I installed Acronis ISO image file - from a 16GB "Thumb Drive" as I have no CD on this Netbook (requires another PC or external USB CD/DVD to work the image burning/etc.).

Wow, enuff said. Battery should last...8 hours, who knows.

Cooler to the touch now & runs DVDs in Nero much faster.

**Updated a week after I installed my XP (SP3):

Just "Smitty'd" the SSD & installed Ubuntu 9.04 Netbook Remix.

I wanted to push the envelope - Almost too fast, if that makes sense. It will be my little screamer - I may dual boot it for Windows (...and I ask my self "why bother?")...

Very satisfied:-)

Cons: Sure, sure...Price is a factor...

And, I chose this over purchasing an iPhone:-(

Other Thoughts: This is my 2nd SSD purchased - 1st was the 64GB Corsair - That's my work/business backup drive for my old Dell D420 (Acronis again).

both are making me rethink my old D-Link NAS storage setup, and would eliminate the little fan that runs constantly on the rear of its case.

Driving my wife nuts where it sitts atop her cookbook bookshelf in our kitchen...
