3 out of 5 eggsDigitally stuck keys

Pros: The backlighting, although a little dimmer than I would have liked, is great when playing in the dark. The display at the top of the keyboard is great when paired with monitoring software, I can keep an eye on system temperatures, GPU usage, FPS, and more. Keys feel nice and responsive when they work, except under select circumstances, which will be covered below.

Cons: On occasion, the keys become stuck, not physically, but digitally. This happens most noticeably when playing games or writing papers, after a quick succession of different keystrokes; a key returns to its raised position, but the input remains continuous until an additional key is pressed. I've let it go for a bit to see if it resolves, but obviously that is not the case.

It turns an input of "d" into a stream of "ddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd," which continues on if you allow it. This is recurrent across different keys, and the different computers I have tested this on. Firmware is updated on all components, including the keyboard.

It's annoying when typing, and it sucks to keep running when you expected your character to stop just short of a cliff. My password inputs have been messed up a few times as well, but at least the board works for the most part.

Other Thoughts: I'll either deal with the inconvenience, or get a replacement keyboard. I hope the next one isn't a bit of a lemon as well.

1 out of 5 eggsIt sort of works

Pros: Simple design and macro keys are layed out well. The no frills center screen is just enough to let users know whats going without being a distraction.

Cons: If you need to hit the ESC key to get to your CMOS settings at boot up, you are going to need a different keyboard. I find this beyond annoying and considering this is a keyboard for games, Logitech KNOWS BETTER but opted to go cheap on this one.

The macro software *looks* attractive but once you start using it, you begin to realize how clunky and poorly thought out it is. It does not behave like a typical windows application (no copy no paste no re positioning of commands with a mouse drag) and once again Logitech FAILED on this very important aspect.

I would give this a negative egg if possible.

5 out of 5 eggsSuccesor to legendary G15

Pros: If you had a G15 years ago you will love this.
Keys respond perfectly, illuminated for the dark nights, has 18 macro buttons if you have any need for them. And the main reason I like these keyboards is due to little LCD screen, you can monitor resource usage with it in real time, everything, time, RSS feeds. And many applications will have plugins to work with this screen.

Cons: Not mechanical but I dont mind.

Other Thoughts: Overall even better then G15 because you can change the color of the screen and illumination to what you want.

3 out of 5 eggsdid not live up to my expectations

Pros: great aesthetic design. custom back lighting. i like the screen information display.

Cons: i have owned a LOT of Logitech keyboard and mouse products. the keyboard i am coming from was the original G15 which is not like 8+ years old. it still works but i wanted something with custom back lighting. when i compare the actual keys on this keyboard to my 8 year old G15 i just get upset. the keys on the g510 are nowhere near as good as i have become used to. unless you press them exactly in the middle and straight down there is a LOT of excess friction while they travel. I waited a month to write this review because i wanted to see if they just needed to break in. i am thankful that there is a little bit of one. currently the keyboard is usable, as if came out of the box i would have taken the hit on shipping and restocking fee just to get something else. i dont know whether logitech's higher end offerings (ie. the G19) have this issue as well but at this point i am beginning to look at competitors products. in addition, the rear flip out stands on the keyboard need to be longer. this is even a common complaint i have seen in a lot of reviews. also, why 18 G-keys? its the only one in the lineup with them. it seems a bit unnecessary.

3 out of 5 eggsSticky Space Bar

Pros: Works as advertised, Color change backlit is nice, no problems with software.

Cons: Needed a new keyboard quickly, old keyboard(Logitech G15 8+ years old) was starting to lose functionality in some keys. Picked up this one in a pinch.

Space bar would stick in the bottom position and would not lift back up. Attempted to remove key and see what the issue was. Couldnt find the problem, switched the plastic key with old keyboard's space bar, now it works perfectly.

Old Space Bar, New Keyboard. At least Logitech's parts are interchangeable.

Other Thoughts: Not sure if I would have purchased this if I didnt need a keyboard right away. But it works the way I like and has just enough functions to make me happy.

1 out of 5 eggsPoorest Quality Ever

Pros: This keyboard is JUST what I needed. Minus the audio jacks and the LCD display, this keyboard is perfect. Literally there is nothing wrong with this keyboard.

Cons: Except that this is the poorest quality junk I have ever purchased. It has only been 10 months since I purchased this keyboard and it has now been dying on me. Off and on, off and on, it won't stop turning off and on when I move it. When the backlights are on this thing overheats bad. Sort of near the window keys and stuff. This makes 4/4 for Logitech. Everything I have ever bought from them has broken. Well no more!

4 out of 5 eggsLOVE IT

Pros: Nice size, Large keys, Lights Up, Love the little LCD screen with the custom info.

Cons: Not always easy to see the keys even in the dark because the tone of the light makes it hard to make out what key is what. Also you can't have different color keys at once. They are all green, or all red, ect.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent value.

Pros: -Cheap, if you can get it for a deal
-Huge bank of macro keys for MMO gaming/productivity
-Large, comfortable wrist rest
-RGB backlighting
-Versatile LED

Cons: -Not mechanical
-Expensive if not purchased during a discount
-Membrane keys deteriorate in quality over time
-Screen is prone to scratches
-Glossy surface can look messy easily
-Backlight can be brighter

Other Thoughts: In terms of features and functionality, this is one of the best keyboards you can have. If you can shrug off the aesthetic problems that I mentioned in the cons, this can definitely be a strong candidate as your next gaming keyboard.
However, this keyboard uses membrane keys, and for the roughly 6 months I've used this keyboard, the keys felt terrible, mushy, and squeaky if the keypress was not perfectly angled. This should definitely be considered when you are thinking of buying this keyboard. Having used a mechanical keyboard before, the feel of the keys were simply unacceptable at that point. I sold mine and bought a mechanical keyboard, much to my dismay for the loss of such great features and software by Logitech.

2 out of 5 eggsDissapointment

Pros: It has a lot of features for programmable keys, dedicated media keys, volume control, and usb port for convenience.

Cons: This keyboard had a short life and had poor build quality. The frame was clunky, the key cap's coating worn off in a couple of months, it had issues when trying to access the computers motherboard bios (it wouldn't work), and would need to be unplugged, then re-attached, to the computer from time to time because it would stop working. Other problems that it had, where the key caps wouldn't make contact, or would stick if not pressed directly in the center of the key when gaming or typing (frustrating).
For the cost, it should not have had these problems. In the past, I have been pleased with the quality of Logitech's products, but this is the worst one that I have ever had. For those looking for a keyboard that will last and not have as many issues, I would suggest looking at another keyboard, and not bother with this one; unless you buy a new keyboard every six months, then it should be fine.

Other Thoughts: Maybe I just got a dud, but it still sucks to get one anyway. Hopefully, someone had better luck with the G510 than I did.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid keyboard

Pros: Strong keyboard, works for what you need it for.

- Keys are responsive.
- Extra keys are pretty handy for more than just games.
- Nice design (IMO).
- Free 3 year warranty (Through Logitech).

Hadn't had much of a problem up until now, see other thoughts.

Cons: - LED lights, aren't bright, some colors lack definition.

- Coated paint begins to fade fairly quickly depending on your amount of use, and environment you live in. (Took mine about 7-8 months before it started fading.

Other Thoughts: After about 3 months after a year, my "D" key seems to have defected, soft key / broken spring. The only reason I am not taking an egg off is because, I know materials tend to break, and Logitech realizes that. Therefor, they have a 3 year warranty on it that I may take advantage of, and send me a brand new keyboard (NOT A REFURBISHED); and I do not have to pay a dime, not even for shipping.
