5 out of 5 eggsGREAT for first mechanical users.

Pros: Keys feel great and for a first time mechanical user it feels very different.
Keycap puller makes life a breeze.
Not too showy but sophisticated enough.

Cons: I wish it came with seperate or closer media keys.
The print on the keys get stained real easily so I'm ordering some replacement blank key caps.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very easy installation (obviously, it's just plug and play)
Packaged very well
Cherry MX Brown allows you to get the amazing feel of a mechanical keyboard without the very loud click of the blue's. However, keep in mind these are still louder than typical keyboards now.
Looks very professional and nice, and it also came with some cool replacement caps for the WASD keys (they're red and instead of having the keys labeled as WASD they're labeled as ^ < > and down.)

Cons: The USB cord provided can be longer. It reached my computer, but I did have to mess with it a bit. Then again, I have a huge computer desk and my computer is all the way at the back and bottom of it, so I can't really dock an egg for this.

Other Thoughts: Very smooth keyboard. Definitely worth the money. If you're hesitant on spending so much on just a keyboard, just do it. It is 3000% worth it!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mechanical Keyboard

Pros: The keyboard is very minimalist. Aside from the tough-feeling braided USB cable, and the CM STORM logo on the front of the keyboard that you'll never see once you start using it, it looks like a plain black keyboard with some futuristicy-looking key prints.

The Cherry Brown switches are just what you'd expect. Tactile, audible, but not as bad as Blues, and comfortable to type on. I use this as a production keyboard at work and it's been fantastic. No extra work or software needed to get it working, so it works great if you work at a place where admin access is locked off and you can't install any peripheral software, because this doesn't need any. I have Cherry Reds on my Corsair gaming keyboard at home, and as far as typing goes I'd say the Browns definitely feel superior, but the Reds are definitely faster/lighter to type on.

- Mechanical keys, seem pretty durable as well. I'm pretty hard on my keys and I haven't had any negative experiences so far.
- Tactile, but still fairly low actuation pressure compared to blues.
- Minimalist. No backlighting or crazy extra features. Perfect for work environments
- Just high enough actuation force that my heavy handed fingers don't accidentally push down when I'm resting them on keys while thinking ;)
- Windows key disable function and media function keys.

Cons: - Decently audible when bottomed out. I work in a cubical environment so this can be a concern, but coworkers haven't complained
- For those not using it for work, no backlighting, few extra bells and whistles.
- Braided cable a little stiff, texture of it feels weird on the fingers, but works. Not a real issue, just a "oh, that's weird." Don't notice it anymore now that it's plugged in.

Other Thoughts: I didn't take off any stars for any of my cons because the keyboard was exactly what I was looking for - A work-friendly production mechanical keyboard that wouldn't irritate everyone around me, and it satisfies exactly that. I listed the cons I could think of that other users might want to know about, however, but don't detract from the overall functionality of the product.

2 out of 5 eggsLess than 3 months later, a dead key.

Pros: When all the keys worked, it worked nicely.

Cons: 'o' key stopped working less than 3 months later. Contacting Cooler Master about the problem through their website so far has not helped out after 5 days waiting for a response. According to newegg's site this keyboard has a 2 year limited warranty, and i want to send it to coolermaster to have them fix it. I feel like i wasted 90 bucks on this.

Other Thoughts: I got a mechanical keyboard because from everything I heard, they are durable and last alot longer than your standard keyboard. This is the shortest amount of time I have had a keyboard work, and I have purchased several, i have a 15 dollar keyboard that still works. 90 dollars for something that worked right for less than 3 months is unacceptable.

1 out of 5 eggsCooler Master Rebate Scam

Pros: If you are a masochist, enjoy being lied to, waiting on hold, writing emails which are replied to by robot, this is the company for you They apparently are loathe to honor rebates, or warranties.

Cons: Be warned that Cooler Master has demonstrated itself to be a shady company. They will give you the runaround if you have a legitimate warranty claim, or a legitimate rebate claim. They are true professionals at wasting your time with endless emails and phone calls. They will not honor my legitimate, properly filled out, rebate claim which has recognized as receiving about six months ago. Still no rebate..

Manufacturer Response:

I'm very sorry for the troubles you're having with your rebate. Below is a link to our Contact Us form so that you can talk to us directly so we can try and help you out in seeing what's delaying the receipt of your rebate. Ideally, please have copies of all the rebate paperwork and any tracking IDs related to your rebate so we can verify the information and work it out as quickly as possible.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Keyboard

Pros: * Sturdy and well built.
* MX Brown switches are very nice and feel great to type on.
* No frills design and layout.
* Very easy to change/clean/repair key caps.
* N-key rollover (PS/2)

Cons: * The biggest problem early on (which is probably more my issue than the keyboard's) is that the shift key would not pop back fast enough (or I held it down and/or typed the next character after the character I was using the shift for) resulting in the 2nd letter of a capitalized word being capital as well (e.g. THis or THat). I have spent an incredible amount of time typing on a keyboard every day of my life for the past 20 years or so of my life and have never had that issue with a keyboard before. I added dampening o-rings and took a few weeks to adjust and the problem no longer presents itself.
* For whatever reason, very rarely something goes a little nuts and either the key registers as stuck or the keypress delay goes bananas and I get a string of the same character spitting out many times in a row (not a result of me holding the key down). Not sure why this happens, but the couple times it has left me scratching my head.
* As others have mentioned, the font on the keycaps isn't the best (the a's i particular look bizarre), but this is largely meaningless to me.

Other Thoughts: A great mechanical keyboard in its price range. Overall I have been extremely happy with it and would certainly recommend it to others.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: * Easy to disassemble and clean
* Detachable cord makes it a cinch to get out of the way if you need some desk real estate for something else.
* MX Brown switches aren't deafening
* There's a directness you just feel when typing that isn't there when using a traditional membrane keyboard.
* Build quality is top notch

Cons: * It's mechanical, so it is louder than a normal keyboard, and heavier too.

Other Thoughts: No eggs off for the cons since it's inherent in the device, but buyer beware. Would not advise for dorm rooms or family homes unless you can tuck your battlestation away where the noise won't bother other people.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Keyboard

Pros: -Very high build quality
-Perfect key resistance (Cherry MX Brown)
-Just the right amount of 'click' sound
-Plenty long braided USB cable
-Useful Windows key lockout function

Cons: Wasn't available as a backlit variant?

Other Thoughts: This was my very first experience with a mechanical keyboard, as i've used standard ones my whole life. My friends finally convinced me to make the switch, so it was just down to doing some research and seeing what Cherry MX switch type I would prefer and whatnot. I'm glad I went with the Brown, this thing is WELL worth the ~$85 I spent back when it was on sale. I'm not all about the flashy full-fledged keyboards with all the MMO hotkey garbage. I just wanted a full-sized standard keyboard comparable to my previous wireless Logitech keyboard, and this thing perfectly fits the bill. This thing WILL NOT disappoint, I promise you.

Pros: Cherry Brown Switches

Cons: Cant use during post
Media Keys don't eork

Other Thoughts: I really like this keyboard, although I do wish I could use it during boot up. It is a pain when I have to grab my backup keyboard.
