5 out of 5 eggsJust what i wanted

Pros: Great picture quality, The touch screen menu options are very cool, Volume adjustment as well. Exactly the right size screen. Again the colors and picture at 1680x1080 60hrtz with a Zotac 550ti card even looks amazing... Also the over all look of the stand and monitor as a whole is impressive. Adjustable tilt. Does not wobble at all.

Cons: "Game Mode" is terrible in my experience The colors pop more and its brighter however all txt and Icons become blurry

Comes with a VGA input (out dated)
Atleast it has one HDMI

Other Thoughts: Great buy for picture quality and tech specs.
Functionality takes it down a bit being it has a VGA input still

2 out of 5 eggsGood picture

Pros: Very good picture, thin design

Cons: The base is terrible for this sized screen. If youre using it as a computer monitor, the mouse and keyboard cannot be touching the same desk (anywhere) that the monitor is on or the screen wobbles terribly.

5 out of 5 eggsLove that Samsung

Pros: Very elegant monitor. Not only does it fulfill all its functions but it also has an very elegant frame and bezel. I absoluately love to Touch of Color design. I already have an IPS panel and wanted to to try PLS to see if they were comparable, and indeed they were. Since i do use dual monitors there are some subtle differences between the two monitors. Some colors are more vibrant on the IPS while others are much more elegant on the PLS, however they are not large enough to even notice unless you really scrutinize it.

Cons: Since it did not have a DVI port, I felt that they should have at least included a DVI to HDMI cable like other manufacturers. However, a 10 ft DVI to HDMI cable only costed me an additional $4.81 so I'm not too disappointed.

Other Thoughts: I have always had faith in Samsung products. However, the same cannot be said about their customer support staff. I just had a general question about a samsung product and it took 15 minutes for the representative to NOT be able to find the answer. I decided to just google it and it took less than 30 seconds to find my answer. Samsung, consider re-educating your employees about your products so they can explain to customers what the products have to offer loyal customers.

5 out of 5 eggssilky nice

Pros: the 5 rating is based mainly on the supreme quality of the screen, which with a little tweaking displays deep, poppy colors. i feel 24' is the sweet spot for 1080p and the pls panel on this display does a superb job.

the glossy frame is also very attractive and slim, putting the emphasis on the screen while still looking good. the capacitive buttons give an elegant feel.

Cons: its a little bit silly that they made this with a vga out instead of a dvi. i dont know who would buy this to use with vga. the lone hdmi port i guess is technically all you need but i would have liked the dvi option two (my computer hdmi out was already taken so i had to buy a dvi to hdmi cable to make use of the other port)

the game mode feature doesn't really do too much. i believe it simply changes the presets to max the brightness contrast and sharpness. but ive found that with it enabled the sharpness is a little too much and will distort the image. it would have been nice to be able to edit the game mode settings and save it for future but alas you can only use what is pre programmed so you will probably set the monitor the way you like and end up not using the game mode button all together.

Other Thoughts: i'm really happy with this purchase overall. i had the white sd360 version just before this, and i think the black one overall looks better and the stand is a little sturdier.

i would recommend this monitor to anyone who is looking to get a really quality 1080 display at a good price. the only better alternative right now would be to go 27' and 1440 and the cost for those can be double or triple this little gem.

4 out of 5 eggsExtraordinary

Pros: Please consider this, currently, as the equivalent of a five-star review: I only deduct one star because it just seems foolish to give anything five stars when I've only had it a week or two and I'm (as of this writing) the first reviewer.

Image quality is excellent and no problems with immediate rendering of the 1920x1080 default resolution with an hdmi cable and my Asus EN210/nVIDIA GeForce 210. I don't do any gaming and I want as quiet a system as I can reasonably build. Multiple touch buttons are pleasing to see, available at a touch, but not interfering with the clean design. Rather than "touching" by pushing, which will result in a bit of a wobble, I've quickly evolved to grasping the button with my forefinger behind the frame and my thumb on the button.

Brightness is also extraordinary: I had to turn it down to about 60% in my home office. Older Samsung lcds usually required 100% or somewhat less. This means that the monitor is likely to be able to perform adequately in a well lit office, etc.

Cons: As, with the many other reviews of widescreen monitors, there is a bit of a wobble when touched. However, this is not an issue in my set up, as my desk with hutch weighs about 200+ lbs. Perhaps at some point Samsung will redesign the post into some oval shape in width, rather than the current rounded rectangular front-to-back, giving a bit broader support side-to-side and adding another touch of design elegance.
