3 out of 5 eggsAverage Projector - Not WORTH

Pros: AVERAGE - NOT WORST

Cons: - POOR PICTURE QUALITY
- CEILING MOUNTING NOT A COMMON and EASY

Other Thoughts: USED TO BUY AND RELY ON ACER PRODUCTS, LATELY NOT GOOD, GOT A 8" WIN TABLET SIMILAR ISSUE, RETURNED.

3 out of 5 eggsA Little Disappointed.

Pros: 1080P and comparatively inexpensive.

Cons: Mount holes off center and high fan noise when not using eco mode, which means I may never use it or only when using 3D (if I use it), since 3D kills the brightness (each eye doesn't see the full brightness by themselves). I like 3D, just not straining to see what I'm looking at. Passive is better in the long run.

Other Thoughts: I've only tried it out for a day so far. Upgraded from the Acer 5370BD (720p version) which I would easily give 4 or even 5 stars. I was hoping things would match up better and it would just be a swap. Luckily my mount plate holes matched, but the mount holes for the 6510 are way off from center making weight distribution severly off balance.
the throw ratio is quite different as well. I should have wired the ceiling for a tighter throw ratio, but I wasn't aware of throw ratios as much, so I wired for the older projector (distance) I had. Worked great for the 5370. Not this one. Had to mount it about 3 feet closer and even then I should be at least another 2 feet. This also means there are 3 feet of wires going from the ceiling outlets to the projector. This isn't that big of a deal, since I kind of expected it eventually. Shorter ratios have their own benefits.
I'll probably never run it off eco mode because the fans noise really cranks up, and so does the heat. I usually run projectors as bright as they'll go. Didn't run the 5370 in eco. It's fan adjusted itself to temperature. It would sometimes turn on stronger to cool things off then slow back down. I'm ok with that. I may give this back. I'm picky about little things like that.

5 out of 5 eggsacer 6510BD

Pros: the picture is bright and crips, so far. almost every feature it has been excellent. with plenty of onscreen settings to fine tune the picture (i didn't need much) its that good !
im running in low lit room 127" away from the screen.
giving me a nice 90 inch display. with the lamp setup for low light otherwise its way to bright.
and with a ROKU 3 and a home server. WORKS GREAT!!!

Cons: the remote control signal seems a little weak. (no big deal)

5 out of 5 eggsVERY nice

Pros: This unit exceeded my expectations in nearly every respect. The picture quality is OUTSTANDING, the unit runs quietly, and it has ably handled input from both the cable box (HD, of course) and my PC (a fairly high-powered home build). I previously had an Optoma 180HD, with similar specs (1900x1080 native, 2 HDMI, etc.), and this unit is quieter and seems to have better picture quality. This may be due in part to the shorter throw distance (around 9 feet seems optimal for a screen size of about 110"), but either way, I'm happy.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I did pretty serious research for this purchase, and experience now confirms in my mind that this is the best unit at anywhere NEAR the price point. I waited for the price to go under $700, and when it hit $600 (SHIPPED!) I didn't hesitate for a SECOND.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Projector for bright rooms

Pros: Bright and sharp picture
Tons of inputs
Great price for bright HD and 3d projector

Cons: Odd mounting screws if in the USA, 3mm screws

Other Thoughts: I upgraded my 8 year old Acer projector just over a month ago and I was blown away by how good this looks. I went with this projector because of the high brightness. I am using this projector in my garage when I have friends over for sporting events. The garage is nowhere near an ideal spot for a projector due to all the light, but this projector still puts out a very good picture even with the daylight coming in the garage, at night it is amazing. I have not used the 3d yet, as I really didn't care about that feature.

I highly recommend this projector, especially if you do not have the ideal dark room for a home theater projector.

The only downside I've run into so far is the size of the mounting screws. It did not come with the mounting screws and I had to go to three different hardware stores before I found the correct size.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat image. Sloppy service.

Pros: Great image. As an avid cinema goer it has really made my theater outings fewer and fewer.

Cons: Got dust inside the lens and caused a bunch of annoying blurry white dots on dark scenes. I sent it in for service but got it back exactly the same. The service center did not even touch it. They just sent it back and said everything was fine. This is after a few long meticulous descriptions of the problem with the call center. Took over two weeks to get my projector back unfixed. I had to send it back again and now am still waiting for two more weeks to get it back. A big hassle.

Other Thoughts: I got it on sale for under $600. Hard to beat that price. Would be happier with better service but the projector is great overall.

5 out of 5 eggsCan't please everyone

Pros: This thing was pretty cheap, and not even refurbished. It was easy to configure the keystone, image size, and focus. The focus and image size are each controlled by separate rings on the lens. After a small amount of tweaking I had an ideal configuration. Two HDMI inputs means I don't need to feed things into a receiver first.

I don't quite understand the complaints on the lowest ratings, although they were only 3 stars at the lowest. One person complained that the throw is too short, and another that it is too long. I found it highly adjustable, and pretty much what I would expect for this size and price range of projector. It was said in the reviews that this projector cannot be returned. I suggest, as that reviewer did, that you read Newegg's return policy. This is covered by a 30 day return window. One reviewer said there were no mount points for a universal projector mount, but I used the same universal mount my Optoma was connected to before I brought this into the setup. Another complained that there is no audio out, but there is in fact a 3.5mm headphone-style audio output. Plus most HDMI devices will allow you to output audio to a separate connection from the HDMI. The rainbow effect some complain about is really pretty minimal. All in all, this is a fantastic purchase for the money. I guess you just can't please everyone.

Cons: A little noisy, but as another reviewer pointed out, it's constant and not variable, so it becomes white noise very quickly. It's small and it gets kinda warm, so it needs a powerful fan to keep from burning up.

Other Thoughts: With overwhelmingly positive reviews it should be clear this is a winner. However, if you check the few 3 star reviews you may be misled. It can mount to a universal projector mount, it does have audio out, it can be returned,

5 out of 5 eggsJust plain great

Pros: 1080p on the cheap. Very bright. Does what I want it to do.

Cons: Angle of view. Had to prop up the back to get viewing angle right. Software to switch between inputs is not that great. But still great overall.
