I want to project a pdf file that I am looking at on my computer screen so a group can see.  Will this work?

Actually any projector should be able to project PDF as the ability to view a PDF is base on your computer.  If you can't open a PDF, download Adobe's free PDF Reader. This projector does have VGA and HDMI connection, so as long as you can connect your computer to this projector via one of these port, just select the right source on the projector, and it should act as a mirror or extension of your computer screen.

Can I use this IPads and MacBookPro?

This is a great little projector and very suitable for our use in a church building.  The projector alone does not have wireless capabilities, only D-Sub, HDMI, Composite, Component, or S-Video.  So if your MacBook has such a port, you're good to go.  If you want to go wireless you need to get a wireless adapter or wifi gateway that will support iPad and/or MacBook connectivity.  That wireless device should provide the D-Sub, HDMI, Composite, Component, or S-Video output for the video input on the projector.

i am a college student looking for a good projector for the money do you believe this will do well?

This projector has been great for me and I'm using it in a home theatre. The native resolution doesn't really matter because it will do 1080p with the proper inputs. The only difference I can tell of between this model and the more expensive "home theatre" Acer models are the number of hdmi inputs. This one has 1 hdmi, the others have at least 2. Picture quality is amazing as well. I haven't seen any rainbow effects at all. Overall I'm very happy with this being my first projector. I would say perfect for a college student. Just make sure you have speakers to connect, the built in one is very weak.

Is this projector 3d capable?

It says on the projector that it is capable of 3D projection.... We have not tried it yet,  we use in a teaching setting for Civil Air Patrol.

It does work extremely well for normal movie viewing with movies as well as  YOUTUBE video largest aircraft carrier ever made....

How is the resolution for text and financial document presentations?

The higher the resolution used, the better - I try to use the hdmi 1920x1200.  We had a presentation this weekend in an open air facility and had pics, graphs, text and graphics.  Looked great and was very bright even in open air venue.

Does this projector mount to ceilings? I just hate when they don't put that in there descriptions, I am replacing two projectors and need to make sure they mount upside down and flip, ty

Yes, this does mount to a ceiling however you will have to purchase a universal mount first.  We bought two of these for our school and one is currently mounted as I described above.  It proved to be a good value for us.

Is it compatible with iPhone and iPad? and if it is does it require an adapter?

You'll probably need an HDMI adapter if your model device doesn't have a an HDMI-out or USB connection. It really depends on what device you're using. I was able to hook up my android tablet because it has an HDMI-out for a cable.

Is this HDCP compatible?

Usually newegg is unfailing about indicating if a display will directly connect to and work with HDCP content (for example, being able to connect with and easily display cable box or Blue Ray player HDCP content.

But, newegg didn't do that this time, so the question arises.

I have a cable supplier (Cox) set-top box that WILL NOT display on a non-HDCP compliant displays. The cable box does not downscale video or audio as it should (per the HDCP standard) to display on non-HDCP compliant displays.

I am sorry that I am unable to answer you questions..... I use mine in the VGA output on my laptop with a wireless keyboard with a mouse pad build in.

I use it for class room training in Civil Air Patrol and for a larger screen for our Flight Simulator.    Works great for that...
