4 out of 5 eggsBright

Pros: Very bright. Makes me squint at night when the brightness is all the way up. 1920x1080 for a fair price at the time. Pretty nice audio for a TV. The tuner has a lot of inputs. Overall good for standard cable/dish use and PS3/Xbox 360 use

Cons: Bright as the sun. Have to adjust it at night every time (also a pro. Depends on how you like it) Pretty hideous looking. HDMI not good PC! A lots of cables for the Tuner -> Display. Not the greatest performance. The fact that is has a TV tuner is not good either.

Other Thoughts: Good buy for most people. Do not recommend if you are picky about your displays because this one has a lot of small flaws

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: PRICE!! Excellent Quality 1080 Monitor. decent TV/DTV Tuner.
Friends and Fam all drool when they see it in action. Crysis, Bioshock, COD4, WOW and other games apps are absolutely amazing at 1080, with bright vibrant color and text crisp as can be. I've no problems with paint on mine, maybe just got lucky on that.

Inregards to the mediabox, mine arrived with the 2dvi model, a big + there. The box itself is a nice touch, keeping my mess of wires all leading to one hidden place rather than twisted and clumped falling out the bottom of the screen in plain view.

Cons: The software managing the tv/dtv tuner and lack of a optical audio out(one that wont void the warranty) are the only things keeping me from marking this 5 eggs.

*note the picture quality and sound are fantastic through the software used, it's merely the info-box and guide that look very cheap and there is a slight delay when changing stations. If you've a cable or satilite box there's no need even be using the built-in tuner, in that you'll never come across this.

Other Thoughts: Even before I hooked it up, I had removed the bottom panel of speakers along with the power to the sceptre logo, honestly you're not buying this screen to be run with some cheesy built-in speakers =P. With both those removed it has a very sleak pro look, not to mention all the extra weight it drops.

Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a 1080 screen. Can't beat the price.

4 out of 5 eggsbargain LCD

Pros: fantastic display quality for the price - The panel looks amazing connected to a nice video card. The media box is a unique way to handle connectivity and updates. It also keeps the panel very slim on the wall.

Cons: The physical build quality is terrible. The cabinet is scratched and has small areas of poor finish. The paint on the stand is bubbled and textured in large areas. The media box is cheap looking - the metal cover doesn't line up at the front seams. The cable arrived with a bent pin on one connector and the shielding bent on another. The connectors are huge... if you plan to do in-wall cabling, make big holes!

Other Thoughts: This is a great quality panel clothed in ugly finish. The picture is bright and beautiful at 1080p, but my friends make fun of the wide frame with big logos and poor paint job.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome

Pros: picture is amazing... price. I personally find the external media box extremely handy. much easier than moving the the tv when you need to get to the inputs.

Cons: paint job is a bit meh when you get inches away and are looking at it.

Other Thoughts: I've watched 7 hours of tv on this now (in a row) and I find it amazing. it's as good (or better) than and lcd tv I've ever seen. would definitely buy again.

Also, the media box comes with two hdmi ports, not one. (at least mine did)

3 out of 5 eggsMy experience

Pros: Media box is great for anyone who has multiple inputs that need to be hooked up all the the same time. I am a gamer and love it. I use the tv for my computer monitor and for my video game systems.

Cons: The box is a must have - Not really a con to me, but I figured it should be posted. The Media box is actually supposed to be sold as part of the TV set. The boxes are actually shipped with a 1 of 2 and 2 of 2 label. However, newegg sells them separately unless you get the combo deal. You absolutely must get the combo deal for the media box, the TV will not work properly without it.

Other Thoughts: I bought the TV from newegg and did not pick the combo deal (I just didn't know they could sell the TV without the Media Box, yes that means I got box 1 of 2, without box 2 of 2.) After talking to newegg's customer support I had the media box sent out also at no charge to me. Kudos Newegg.

Be sure to get the combo deal.

1 out of 5 eggspoor quality & support

Pros: Good price at the time of purchase, TV looks & sounds good when it works.

Cons: I got this in August 2007 and it lasted until December when the picture went out. A few days before that I moved the media box and apparently something was loose inside. Tapping on the box would cause the picture to flicker & stay on for a while at times. I sent it RMA & it took 4 weeks before it came back. I plugged it in & to my surprise there was a *bad signal* message & distorted display. I took off the cover and found that one of the connectors was half on! The connector was one of those long slide-ons but although one side of it was on tight the other side wasn't. I pushed it in firmly, closed up the box & it worked.

Other Thoughts: VERY BAD WORKMANSHIP! RMA is terribly slow too. I had to pay for RMA shipping to them & I would have had to pay a second time if I hadn't fixed it myself. I will never buy this brand again.

2 out of 5 eggsWhat TV?

Pros: Well, I haven't been able to turn the darn thing on. Media box was not shipped with the unit. Newegg didn't have it in stock and I was in no mode to pay $599 for one + $799 for the monitor. So I got Newegg to retun the unit and went for the Sceptre 46" LCD instead. I still have no idea about image quality as the new set is not here yet.

Cons: Media box was not shipped. $599 for media box seperately. Monitor unit looks cheaply made. Newegg reputation has fallen somewhat with me.

Other Thoughts: shop around, They may be better deals.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes it come with the Media Box?

Pros: Great TV, but does this come with the Media Box?

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg does not even list the Media Box on their site. I have another X42GV-Naga and it is a great TV, but not for the novice. I will buy another one if it comes with the Media Box.

5 out of 5 eggs1080p Bliss

Pros: I comes with most of the cables ha you would need. Media Box in a separate location w/ 6' cables. This moves some heat away from the panel which I like. Removable stand and speakers. VGA input OR DVI-HDMI through supplied cable. Subwoofer out. Extremely good as a computer monitor for Media Center PC 1920x1080 is crisp and clear without the typical 60Hz annoyance you get from a computer monitor.

Cons: No optical sound, not enough inputs. Only 1 HDMI and 1 component. The proprietary cables that connect the panel to the Media Box would require a hefty cable cover, if you were to wall mount the panel. The speakers aren't the best sounding.

Other Thoughts: I would seriously consider this unit for a visually impaired computer tech. The panel isn't that heavy. My wife and I were able to move it easily.

1 out of 5 eggsTHANKS NEWEGG!

Pros: I am sure its beautiful, if only I could watch it!

Cons: Requires a media box. I read many many reviews, including the one on newegg before deciding to purchase. I read some botched incidents where customers where not aware that the media box was required. But, I was assured that everything would be cool when the item was to be included as "DISCOUNT FOR COMBO #31061 GIFT (Qty=1, Price=$-599.99)"

Other Thoughts: But here it is now, a beautiful LCD, with no media box! It hasn't even been shipped yet! Thanks Newegg! If you Buy, Make sure you get what you pay for and that they send you everything that is required.
