5 out of 5 eggsMajor Uppgraydd

Pros: So before I bought this I was using a 720p 32'' T.V. This more than blows it away. I cant believe I haven't been getting the most out of my high end computer over $1500 built gaming rig. I know this monitor is a few years old when it came out, but for me this is wonderful. Also I got this at a great price.

Cons: No dead/stuck pixels, I guess they've finally fixed that issue.

there is a small un-noticeable light bleed from the top left corner. But after reading up on it, it seems normal for a LCD to have some light bleed, I can only hope that it doesn't increase over time.

Coming down from a 32'' kinda sucks but I'm not about to pay $800 for a 32'' monitor, the 27'' is quite nice actually

The swivel could be better, but isn't bad.

Other Thoughts: I know this isn't top-of-the-line anymore, but until 4k and 1440p comes more frequent/cheaper then I'll stick with this.

Haven't tested the 3D yet but I plan on getting it someday.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Monitor

Pros: High resolution, Fluid motions, and great build quality.
Tilt, swivel and height adjustment, so you get the perfect view.

Cons: No USB, no Display port, No 3d over HDMI.
Ports come out at a weird angle, so have to lay the monitor on its face to access them.

Other Thoughts: would buy again

5 out of 5 eggsSimply Beautiful

Pros: Crystal clear, huge, with precision of colors that blows my old retail Acer out of the water. Haven't tried the nVidia 3D yet- new card coming in Monday!

Cons: Minor complaints-
1) Height is adjustable... to two positions. Base or +10cm, nowhere in between.
2) This HIGH DEF, GAMING monitor comes with a VGA cable and DVI, but no HDMI cable. It's like buying a Blue-Ray burner, opening the box, and finding you've also paid for a stack of CDs and a stack of DVDs... but no BRDs.
3) The case under the inputs has a lip that makes it extremely difficult to mount cables- whatever jerk put those VGA and DVI cables in there clearly never tried to screw one in to this particular model before.

Other Thoughts: I didn't do a page by page analysis, but it would have been nice knowing that the 500 something dollar monitor came with cheap cables for Word users instead of the obvious. That aside, this thing ROCKS. It's STUNNING. I hope against hope that it serves me this well for years to come- I couldn't ask for a better monitor by any standard!

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad for the price.

Pros: Fast response rate, good for gaming, very stable and adjustment friendly stand.

Cons: The picture quality is not that great. I have to adjust several times before I can play Far Cry 4. The color is somewhat kind of dark. Also, the viewing angle is limited and I can see washed out color (Don't really bother me at all though). Also, the build-in speaker is not as loud as I thought. I always set it to max volume and still have difficult time to hear sometimes. In additional, after hours of gaming, the fan inside the monitor starts to get a little noisy.

Other Thoughts: It is still very good monitor though. All of those cons don't bother me that much but if you want the best monitor out there for gaming, then this is not the one.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 27 inches, 144hz, 3D bonus.

Cons: Power cable tends to be hard to work when you plug into the monitor power slot, but it isn't bothering me.

Other Thoughts: This monitor was worth every single penny, I used a 60hz 32-inch TV as my previous monitor (my brother uses it now) and this ASUS monitor is a huge upgrade to my PC gaming experience, I'd recommend this to any PC gamer out there, and the 3D is a huge bonus, 2D gaming is great as well. Even though nvidia 3D is almost $100 more, it was also worth it to make a great experience

1 out of 5 eggsMenu buttons stop working

Pros: big screen, bright and detailed for TN panel , 144Hz great for gaming.

Cons: Less than a year and the 3 bottom buttons stop working (volume up, menu, S)
Unable to raise volume or get into OSD to make changes.

Other Thoughts: No monitor drivers available from Asus.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent gaming monitor

Pros: I mainly play BF4, and the increased refresh rate has a noticeable impact on my game. The performance using the EVGA GeForce GTX 780 is very smooth for the most part.

I thoroughly recommend this for any enthusiast looking into buy high end hardware.

I used to play on an 60Hz IPS panel before, and I did not notice any degradation in colors.

Cons: Viewing angle is not that great, but that doesn't bother me.
